Author Note:

Hello people of fanfiction! TheWolfAngel here with another chapter. I'm sure your feeling quite confused as to why I'm updating two days in a row, but I just felt I had to due to my long absence from the site. I've just finished my 7 page History essay on WW1 so I decided to give you yet another chapter. Oh you lucky pups! Anyway, I think it is time to choose the star reviews of our fic… AND THEY'RE HERE!

Wade98 – I definitely like those cliff hangers, but only when I'm the one writing because then I'm not left hanging on the usual "OMG what's going to happen next!?" problem ;)

Gold Testament – Yes they will, and you were! I think it was on a community which I found it… yeah, I think it was. I'm glad you like the story and I'll bring up ARTEMIS 007 SUPER SPY – MISSION STALKER in a later chapter XD

Dogbiscuit1967 – I'm glad that the chapter lived up to expectations, and that was actually the first time I ever attempted to write a romantic scene, happy it worked! The reason that Percy didn't seem like he and Artie had a romantic relationship was based off how he was in the books; because in the books he seems not to be much of a morning person, so even if they did have a romantic relationship I doubt that Percy would like to be woken up in the middle of the night by an emotional girl, following that by watching his mother's death. Hope that covered the plot gaps :D

Daughter of Olympus 2 – Yay! You guessed right!

Now that they are all 'hecho y espolvoreado' I believe that is time for chapter 8 of Revenge of the Titan Lord, action!

Disclaimer: Go back to one of the last chapters…. Done? Good. Now you know that I don't and never will own PJO :D

Chapter Eight: In Which Nico Is Ungrateful For Help

Percy's POV:

Now you know. That was the most memorable day of my life, not just because I lost my Mom, but because I learnt of my impending fatherhood. Surrounded with the blood of my family.

Nine months later, Artemis returned with the sleeping form of our son cradled carefully in her arms. I would be eternally grateful she didn't do as the other goddesses do and send him in a basket; I wanted to see her as much as I wanted to see him. It was that day, with his petite body held in my arms, I swore to care and protect my son from everyone who wished him harm. Which – with me for a father – was turning out to be an increasingly large list of teed off immortals.

But now I was here, in the Hunter's camp with an eighty year-old boy, a large group of man-hating girls and his mother, and he was at home with a goddess who, quite frankly, hates my guts.

"Hey, Percy?" Artemis called back with a grin as she left the tent, "Aren't you coming?"

Breaking out of my thoughts, I quickly ran to catch up with her. "When this is over," I muttered in her ear, and smirked proudly when I heard her breath catch, "You and me are taking Ivan on holiday, we both miss you."

I heard Artemis sigh as I backed away, her breathing becoming less shallow. "I will try, but I can't guarantee. And even if I could, I won't be able to relax without thinking one of the gods were spying on us." She muttered back, "I am meant to be a maiden goddess, you know."

After sharing a guilty laugh, we changed paths, me to see Nico and Artemis to command her Hunters.

"Hey, Perce." Nico panted, face thick with sweat as he carried an impossibly large pile of tent poles. "Wanna help this poor defenceless soul?"

I laughed, "No thanks, Nicky. That's your job, and I must say; you're doing a good job of it to."

Nico scowled back playfully before chuckling breathlessly. "Well, aren't you nice?"

I did help eventually, and we carried the tent poles over to the clearing in which the Hunters were gathering.

"Sooooooo," Nico said, "What did Artemis wanna say 'bout our quest?"

"She said Thalia could come," I lied, "She's going to tell the other Hunters about their lieutenant joining us now."

ARTEMIS! I screamed to her telepathically, a skill we had found out I had during our stay in our joint camp. Please tell the Hunters!

"About what exactly?" Was her reply, "Because I doubt you mean dinner."

"My quest! Nico asked what we talked about and I said you allowed Thalia to come along."

"A bit quick to make assumptions aren't you?" I could feel her amusement through her thoughts, "But okay; I will." I failed to notice the connection being broken:

"Thank you!"

Nico looked at me weirdly, "What did I do?"

"Huh?" I questioned bemusedly, "Oh, nothing, just forget it."

Nico just looked more confused than before, but he shook it off, "Ok then; let's go see what Artemis is talking about."

"Hunters!" Artemis called out across the now bare clearing in which the Hunters had gathered. "I hope you will all be alright during the time you are at camp, and I will see you soon." With that very brief explanation Artemis waved her hand to make her Hunters teleport to camp, leaving Nico, Artemis, Thalia and I.

"Right," exclaimed Artemis, "I have decided to join your quest because I'm feeling generous, be grateful."

Wow, I thought, only my Artie.

"Great," Nico muttered under his breath, "More for the party."

"Excuse me?" said Artemis, glaring in the way that only the goddess of maidens could, "I am an Olympian goddess offering to help you on your quest and you're acting as if my help is unwanted?"

"What? Nooooo." Nico said, "I am thoroughly, completely, genuinely, well and truly happy that you have offered to join our already 3 membered quest to make it an unlucky 4. I couldn't be happier." I knew Artemis wanted to turn him into a jackalope, but it seemed she decided against it at the last moment. Lucky Nico; I knew first-hand what it was like to be one of those creatures, and it wasn't fun.

"So where do we go first?" she asked, "I'm guessing we can't go to Tartarus straight away as Hades has picked up security tenth fold."

"Kronos," Nico muttered angrily, "Hades is possessed, he didn't pick up security, Kronos did." Artemis looked at him sympathetically.

"Yes, Kronos. But I don't think it will help us if we keep talking as if Kronos is back already; that will only lessen our good spirits."

I understood where they were both coming from. Nico was right in saying it was wrong to blame Hades, but it was easier to think of him as the threat. We had already lost so much to Kronos; the thought of another battle against him sent shivers down everyone's spines.

"Why don't we just call him Krodes?" I contributed, "It's what Dad and I are calling him; it's easier, the fact that it really tees him off is just an added bonus."

Everyone agreed to that, so I answered Artemis' earlier question. "I think we should travel to Los Angeles anyway; I feel as if the Fates want us to go straight to the Underworld." I noticed Thalia shaking her head.

"If the Fates want us to go straight to the Underworld then I think we should be careful and think more, I mean, the old hags haven't exactly been kind to us in the past few years." Thunder rumbled in warning, "Oh, shut up! You've made such a mess of my life, I think I am entitled to insult you, you two-faced trolls!"

I could see Nico attempting to smother his laughter at the angry huntress, I was also covering up my laughter.

"Okay." I smiled humorously, "But I still feel as if we need to go to LA, I have a feeling that what we need is closer to Tartarus than we think."

Nico sighed, "It's up to me again, isn't it?" He walked to the most shaded part of the forest, under an age-old beech tree, "Shadow travel for everyone!"

I smiled, this would be the perfect time to show off a bit. "Not everyone my dear Nicky." I replied, laughing inwardly at the familiar scowl that adorned his face at the less-than-formal nickname. "As I'm sure Lady Artemis can teleport herself and I have a few tricks up my sleeve."

Thalia's face scrunched up in confusion, as it did every time she thought hard. "What… tricks?"

I smiled back. "Watch."
I focused on the air, the sweet evening dew that floated hazily in my vision. I felt the cool, moist air surrounding me, changing me. I tried to remember the sound of the salt water on the beach. I thought of becoming one with the water, the feeling of the liquid surging through my veins. I faintly heard a gasp but I couldn't look to see who it was. Finally I felt my body melting; all solid flesh and bone turning to water. That was when I opened the pools that had become my eyes. I could feel the droplets that now completed my anatomy forming at my will. I thought of a body – arms, legs and head – and the water morphed to create my new form at my command.

"P-Percy?" Thalia exclaimed in shock, "W-what was that?!"

"Water travel," I answered telepathically, a skill I kept even in this liquid body, "It's faster than a body. It kind of comes with being a child of Poseidon."

I could see Artemis smiling lightly out of the corner of my eyes, "I think we should get going," she said, turning to me, "Shall we go, Perseus?" I cringed in my water form; I could feel her sympathy but I knew it was necessary. We hadn't told them about us so they wouldn't know I had already told her to call me Percy.

"Please, Lady Artemis." I thought, making sure to project my thoughts to Nico and Thalia so they heard as well, "Call me Percy."

"Okay, Percy." I could hear the barely-supressed laughter in her voice, she obviously thought our acting was hilarious, "Shall we go?"

"Yes, to the entrance of the Underworld. I haven't seen Charon lately."

"Trust me," Nico replied darkly, "You don't want to."
