My take on Zhu Li and Varrick's first night as a married couple. Heavy references and implications; no lemon. Enjoy 😊

Zhu Li woke up and pulled the sheet snug around her neck. She blushed when the sheets skimmed across her bare skin, sending a tingly sensation up her spine. She turned over and saw Varrick sleeping soundly beside her. She smiled.

The night before had been perfect.

She had married her best friend, the wedding had gone off without a hitch, and once the party had ended, Varrick took her to the fanciest honeymoon suite imaginable. A large king sized bed covered with a beautiful silk duvet had been made immaculately. A nice sized bathroom sat adjacent to the bed, filled with enough towels to last a week along with a radio sitting stationary on the sink. Large windows took up the wall next to the bed and opened to the outside. She walked over and stared out across a beautiful city scene, lit up by the lights shining brightly against the dark night sky.

It was quite a sight. Her thoughts were broken when she felt two hands rest on her shoulders and give a quick squeeze. A bit of pressure forced her to turn around. Varrick's sea blue eyes stared down at her expectantly. Without a word, she leaned up and kissed him. And then, all bets were off.

She felt her cheeks heat up again at the thought and sighed. Varrick's eyes fluttered open. He reached over and pulled her flush against him. "I love you, Mrs. Varrick."

"I love you too, sweetie."

Varrick closed his eyes and gave a low chuckle. "I could get used to that."

Zhu li wrapped her arms around him. "You waited long enough."

"You said yes."

She shifted her head up and kissed him.

"I really could get used to that," he said after she broke the kiss.

"Well, you're gonna have to," she quipped, bringing her lips to his once again.

"You were good by the way," Zhu Li said, setting a hot cup of green tea on the cold counter in front of Varrick. She turned around and began pouring a cup for herself.

"Good?"

Zhu Li slowly looked over her shoulder and allowed a sly smile to settle on her face.

Varrick cleared his throat. "Ahem, well, good."

"How's the tea?"

"Just as amazing as last night," he said with a cheeky grin.

She blushed, smiling. She walked over to the small island in the middle of the kitchen and stood next to him. A comfortable silence surrounded them a few moments before Varrick broke through the quietness of the room. "So, Mrs. Varrick, what would you like to do today?"

Zhu Li took a sip of tea. "I don't know. I mean..."

"I got it! Why don't we go into the city and look at all the shops we never stop to look at. It's a beautiful day outside so let's not waste it."

She shook her head and smiled. She'd never seen him so, romantic? Sweet? It was so unlike him. She grabbed his hand and gave a quick squeeze. "That sounds wonderful."
