"Come on mate." Cal spoke, patting his friends shoulder as they went to leave the pub that they were in.

"Oww." Max groaned, Cal having touched the place where he was currently most sore.

"What's up with you?" Cal asked, only a tiny bit worried for his friend.

"Nothing." Max insisted, not wanting Cal to know about the plaster covering the back of his shoulder.

"Whatever. You coming?" Cal asked, seeing Max looking out of the window to where a group of their colleagues were walking towards the pub.

"No, I think I'll stay here for a bit."

"Your loss."

A group walked through the door, containing Zoe and his sister, Robyn. Robyn immediately walked over to Max, while Zoe stood next to them, trying to catch the attention of the bartender to get a round in.

"Let's see it." Robyn spoke excitedly.

"Not so loud Ro." Max replied, seeing Zoe listening in but keeping her attention towards the bar.

"Show me your tattoo!" Robyn pushed. "Did it hurt?"

"Yes, a lot! I'm going out for a fag, I'll show you when I'm back."

Max held the cigarette to his mouth, being careful about leaning against the wall due to the position of his tattoo.

"So a tattoo hey Max?" Zoe laughed as she joined her secret porter boyfriend outside. "You never mentioned that you were getting one."

"It was meant to be a surprise, only Robyn ruined it."

"Do I get to see then?" She asked playfully. Max passed the cigarette that he had lighten to Zoe and took off his top, as they slipped into the alley way at the side of the pub. She saw the plaster on the back of his left shoulder, it was smaller than she'd expected it to be.

"Can you help me?" He asked, partly for practicality as he couldn't reach it properly, and partly so she would see it first. Slowly she peeled back the plaster and gasped in shock as she saw her name tattooed in black across his back.

"Max, it's my name." Zoe whispered, having still not recovered from the shock.

"Well who else's would it be?" Max pointed out, laughing slightly at her shock before kissing her. "I thought I'd show you how serious I was about us. I love you Zoe."

"I love you too Max." She replied without even thinking. "What are you going to do when Robyn asks why you have the name Zoe on your back?" She asked, her mind having finally recovered from the shock.

"Well I could tell her it's the air hostess from a few months back, or we could tell her about us?"

"Are you sure you want to properly be with me?" Zoe asked cautiously.

"Has the tattoo not proved that? Of course I do, there's nothing I want more."

"Then tell her."
