Also written for the Bad Movie Tuesdays Challenge for the location - Funeral

I thought since we started with Harry and James, we should finish with them as well, after a fashion.

Finally, the last chapter! There were definitely times I didn't think I would finish this. I want to thank everyone who has been reading these drabbles and especially to all of those who have reviewed. I also want to thank my fellow Falcons - MaryRoyale, trollnexus and asebi who helped me when I was stuck on prompts on more than one occasion. Go and read their stuff, they are all amazing!

I am not sure what I am going to write after this, but I'll be taking a bit of a break first. :)

Ginny sat surrounded by her family, clenching Hermione's hand tightly. Ginny was regretting this spectacle once again. Harry would have hated it. Hermione must have sensed her pang of guilt for she squeezed Ginny's hand reassuringly and gave her a smile.

"It will be all right, Mum," James said from her left. Ginny nodded slightly, knowing her son was speaking of the funeral and the ridiculous number of people that had shown up, but Ginny knew that it would never really be all right again. Harry was gone.

At another squeeze from Hermione, Ginny began to wonder if her friend had finally learned Legilimency after all these years. Ginny held back a snort. It would be just like Hermione to keep learning new things at one hundred and thirty-five years old and learning how to do it wandlessly on top of it wouldn't surprise Ginny in the least. She shook her head in amusement. But, she suspected, it had more to do with the fact that Hermione had gone through this herself five years ago. Ginny forced herself not to think of her brother. All her brothers actually. They were all gone now, most of their wives as well. She and Hermione were the only ones left.

Ginny allowed herself to look over the gathering crowd. The requisite Ministry officials were there of course, as were all the reporters. She smiled wryly thinking about what Rita Skeeter might have had to say were she still around. There were many people she didn't recognize, but more than a few familiar faces as well. She had seen Luna and Rolf a bit earlier and Dean had come with his daughter. The few remaining members of Dumbledore's Army were there as well and Malfoy had even made an appearance, no doubt prodded a bit by Scorpius and Rose.

Once everyone had taken their seats, the Ministry official began and Ginny's mind soon wandered from his droning on about all of Harry's accomplishments. She shook her head again. This isn't what Harry would have wanted. She shouldn't have let the Ministry talk her into such a farce.

James squeezed her hand and she realized he was getting up from his seat. She was surprised to see him walking towards the podium and the Ministry official seemed a bit shocked as well. James said something to him and the man huffed and gestured wildly, but finally nodded and stepped away. James cast a Sonorus charm on his voice.

"Good morning," he began. "I'm sure that most of you know how I am, but for those that don't, I'm James Potter. Harry Potter was my father." Hermione looked at Ginny and smiled. Ginny relaxed for the first time in days.

"I know you're all familiar with my father's achievements, so I won't bore you with reading through all of that." Many in the audience laughed and the Ministry official turned red in the face. Ginny grinned at her son.

"My father was known by many names, The Boy-Who-Lived, The Chosen One, The Savior, Head Auror to name a few. But to my siblings and I, he was just 'Dad'." Lily sniffled beside Ginny. "And he would tell anyone that would listen that his family was his biggest accomplishment." Hermione squeezed Ginny's hand again.

"We grew up knowing what he had done, but only because other people told us about it. He'd answer our questions if we asked, but he didn't like to talk about it. He considered it a job he'd had to do and once it was over, he wished everyone would just forget about it."

"Obviously that wasn't likely to happen," James smiled and there was a bit more laughter throughout the crowd. Even Hermione chuckled. "But he tried to shield us from that as much as he could and tried to give us the normal childhood he never got to have. He wasn't always successful, but I think he did a pretty good job of it." Ginny looked around at all the soft smiles on people's faces and beamed at her son.

"Our dad taught us many things, but the best thing he taught us was how to love people. We never doubted that he loved us or our mother. He loved her," James had stop and swallow to regain his composure. "He loved her with everything he had and as far as I could tell, she loved him just as much." Tears began to roll down Ginny's cheeks. Al had moved into James' seat and he put an arm around his mother.

"His friends were just as important. As far as he was concerned, they were just another part of our extended family. He would help anyone that needed him, anytime they asked and many times that they didn't. And he didn't ask for anything in return."

"I know that Harry Potter will always be remembered. The history books will see to that. But I think that my father would have liked his legacy to be about something other than Tom Riddle or his career as an Auror. But we, his wife, his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and on down the line, his nieces and nephews, friends and family, we will remember Harry Potter for his great capacity to love and be loved. And this is what we will carry with us. Forever."

James smiled at his mother and as he stepped down from the podium, the applause started. Soon it was thunderous and Ginny stood and hugged her son, crying unabashedly.

"Thank you," she said putting a hand to James' cheek. He smiled. "Your father was so proud of you."

"I was proud of him," James said. "We all were." Ginny nodded unable to say anything else.

"This is exactly what Harry would have wanted," Hermione said tears running down her own cheeks.

"Well, maybe not so many people," Ginny countered. Hermione laughed through her tears.

"No, maybe not that," she agreed. She looked out over the sea of people who were greeting each other. The actual burial would take place in private at the cemetery in Ottery St. Catchpole where the rest of the Weasleys were buried. "But the rest of it, everything that James said." Ginny nodded, watching as her family and friends came together, hugging each other, telling stories and laughing from time to time.

"Yes, all of this," Ginny agreed. "This is what he would have wanted." She smiled as she watched her great-great-great grandchildren chasing each other around a row of chairs. Yes, this is exactly what Harry would have wanted. And someday soon she would be with her Harry again. Forever.
