"I still can't believe you introduced me as your brother," said Peter.

"I told you," said Olivia. "It works better that way."

Peter nodded and rolled his eyes a little as he opened the door to the lab.

"I get that. Trust me, I do. But still… it hurts," he said, putting his hand to his chest dramatically.

Astrid looked up as the pair entered. "What hurts?"

Now it was Olivia's turn to roll her eyes. She hooked a thumb towards Peter.

"He's upset because I introduced him as my brother when we were out."

Astrid laughed. "Ouch."

"Thank you," said Peter, holding a hand out to Astrid.

Astrid shrugged. "Don't mention it… bro."

Peter sighed. "I'm never going to hear the end of this, am I?"

Olivia grinned wickedly. "Nope," she said, popping the 'p.'

Suddenly, a new voice entered the conversation.

"Could've been worse," said Walter, blinking rapidly as he became aware of the others.

Peter gave his father a puzzled look. "Oh?"

"Yes," explained Walter, "she could have introduced you as her gay best friend."

And as Olivia and Astrid laughed, Peter glared and then made a decision.

That's it, he thought, no more sitcoms for Walter.

*A/N: "Worse," of course, is a relative term. There is nothing wrong with being either a brother or a gay best friend, if either of those things are true. When they are not, it is problematic. Though come to think of it, I really want to see Peter act like a gay best friend. A stereotypically flamboyant gay best friend. I'd pay good money to see that! (Also, I'm only in the first season in my first viewing of this show, so if that happens later, no one tell me!)
