Disclaimer I do not own Inuyasha nor Twilight.
A/N: Sorry it took so long. 1 year to go and I'll have my bachelor's. I should point out that this story is supposed to be composed of shorter chapters than my stories normally have, as this story acts as my reprieve to relax from the heavy content of my other stories. Please read and enjoy!
Kiss the Moon
The Lodge
"Here you go, one cheeseburger with two sides of curly fries, will that be all for you today sir?" Kagome asked, setting down the food in front of her customer.
"Yes, can I get a refill of tea."
Kagome flashed the man a pleasant smile taking his empty cup, "Right away sir."
She moved behind the counter to refill her customer's cup. Humming softly to herself as she did.
"How's it going," Dorine, one of the older waitresses, came up beside her asked.
"Great! Honestly, at Johnny's around this time we'd have the whole placed packed by now. It feels good to slow down some," and it did feel really good.
A lighter work load and slightly better pay was just what she needed. She wouldn't lie, working at Johnny's there wasn't a day she didn't leave work with her feet sore and her back aching from standing and serving for six to eight hours a day. Then to leave and go work at the hotel afterwards had been draining on her and the baby. Something she knew would get harder and she progressed even further into her pregnancy. Now her belly was the size of a watermelon and according to her new OBGYN she'd gone to yesterday was not holding one baby, but two. She'd been shocked to see them both, but according to her doctor sometimes a twin could hide behind their siblings which would explain no previous sightings during her first three sonograms.
"Yep best thing about this place, you'll find Thursday's and Friday's are our busiest days. All the families come in for our specials those days, even our good Sheriff Swan too. There always trying to call a poor old lady to work on those days," Dorine lamented about her age.
She chuckled lightly, "You are not that old Dorine, just seasoned," Kagome replied with a sparkle of mirth in her eyes.
Dorine snorted at her comment.
"You're a sweetheart hun, but I know I'm getting up there," she rubbed her bad back, "Can't work as hard, nor a fast as I used to. Honestly, I'm glad you're here to lighten the load," she said patting the younger woman's shoulder in appreciation, "Especially since your a hard worker, I tell you that last girl they hired was a lazy one. Always complain'n even when she wasn't doing diddily squat."
"Haha, well I am glad to be of use to you. You shouldn't be working too hard, it wears down your body's vitality, " Kagome paused when her customer waved his hand, "Ah well better get this guy his refill. Got to make all the tips I can before these little guys come," she rubbed her stomach appreciatively.
"Aww their's sure to be bundles of joy cause they have a great woman bringing them into this world," Dorine said patting her hand. She flushed thanking her for the compliment before she went to bring her customer his drink.
Time passed by quickly and suddenly three o'clock came and she was clocking out. She'd just walked outside to the parking lot, when she stood frozen.
Her eyes widening slightly as she stared at an all to familiar face.

EMBRY P.O.V.
They'd decided to eat off of the rez today to give him a break from being holed up there the whole time. Naturally they went to the best place Forks had to offer when it came to delicious burgers and steaks, the Lodge. Riding next to Sam in the pick-up truck with Quil and Seth tagging along for safety and a free meal since Sam was treating them. He watched the scenery pass by, the wind from his rolled-down window letting his hair fly in the wind. He hadn't really been focused on keeping his hair cut, so it had grown back down to a little bit past his shoulder.
'I wonder if she likes long hair, or maybe short hair.'
He'd cut it if she did.
'If I ever get the chance to see her again,' the forlorn thought came as he exhaled softly.
Everything seemed so dreary as they passed. The car ride had started out in a hard rain before tapering off into a slight drizzle that completely disappeared by the time they'd made it to the lodge the sun coming back out with the clouds rolling off into the distance.
When they arrived and he jumped out of the truck greeted with the smell of wet grass and dozens of smells assaulting his sensitive nose as the door to the Lodge swung open.
Naturally he was prepared to ignore the smells, till a sweet familiar aroma wafted towards his nose.
It smelled of ambrosia and he felt the wolf inside him rising from it's pitiful sadness.
His eyes dilated as his eyes darted all over before singling towards the door of the establishment that'd just opened up.
There standing in a waitress uniform with a thin, sweater over it and a purse in one hand, was his imprint.
'My Kagome!'
