How We became a Family Ch.16
Alice's POV
(3 Months after last ch16)
It's been three months since mom and I agreed about me not going to therapy as long as I took my pills the right way.
I have kept my side of the deal up and mom had given me the all clear that I wouldn't have to go to therapy. Tonight Emmett, rose, jasper and I had our first dance competition.
We were currently on our way to the hotel in Seattle. Jasper and I were currently sitting in the back seat of roses BMW while rose was driving with em in the passenger seat.
"Nervous sweetie?" Jazz asks as the paused our music we were listening to on his phone.
"A little" I say as I lean into him and the rubs my shoulder.
"DO you think mom and Bella will make it? I ask Emmett.
"Im sure she will. She was just waiting till Carlisle gets out of work at 4 and the competition starts at 7 and we're not on till at least 7:30-7:40" em says and i nod.
Jasper puts our music back on. I close my eyes and drift off to sleep leaning on jazz.
(2 hours later)
"Ali time to get up" I hear jazz say as the shakes my shoulder.
"MMM tired" I groan and I hear jazz chuckle before I feel him pick me up and carry me into the hotel. I drift as em checks us in the hotel we would be staying in.
I'm set down on a soft mattress and I go to grab the blanket when I feel someone grab my feet and start to tickle them. I sit up and pull my feet away and see em laughing.
'Jerk" I say and get up off the bed.
"We have enough time to practice a little bit" Rose says and I nod.
"Well we'll go get changed and let you ladies do the same" Jazz and walks through the door that connect our two rooms.
Rose and I both change into shorts and tank tops and meet the boys in the hall. We head downstairs and to the main ballroom where the competition was being held.
Em goes and checks us in and comes back.
"We're in the third conference room second section" He says and we all nod and make our way to the area. In the room was a stereo system and a mini fridge and a couple body length mirrors.
"Ready?" Rose asks as she walks over to the stereo and puts our CD in for our music.
EM and i get into position and nod. She presses play and Lady gaga's Alejandro starts to play.
(An hour later)
After a few practices we call it quits and head back to our room to relax for a bit before making our way to the competition.
We sit in our practice room nervously waiting. I keep checking the clock frequently until em moves my chair to face away from the clock.
"Relax their coming" He says and I nod and tap my foot.
"I don't know if I can do this" I say and stand up and pace.
"Why not?" em asks.
"I haven't danced since we were kids and i feel like this is too revealing" I say and look down at my outfit. R
ose and I were in a flowy skirt and a sport bra like top. I could see all of my fading scars from the attack.
"Alice you can only see the scars because you know they're there. I can't see them from over here" EM says before the gets up and walks over to me.
"You can do this. We all have faith that you can" He says and rose and jasper nods.
" I don't know" i say and walk away from him and start my pacing.
Em sighs and walks back over to the chairs. I continue to pace till i hear another sigh. I look up and Bella, Mom, Carlisle and Edward are in the doorway.
"Nerves?" Mom asks as she walks over and I nod.
"You'll do fine baby girl" mom says and pulls me in for a hug.
"The outfit is too revealing" I say.
"No it's not you're being paranoid" She says and I sigh but nod.
"You'll do perfect" mom says before they leave to take their seats in the ballroom.
After a few more minutes we leave the room to get ready to go out.
"We got this" jazz says and grasps my hand as the speaker introduces us.
"I hope so" I say before we walk into the ballroom.
(Esme's POV)
I anxiously wait for the kids to take the floor. I nervously tap my foot and run my hand along my knee.
"Ez relax" Carlisle says and grasps my hand.
"They will do fine" He says and runs his hand along my arm.
" I know they will I'm just nervous what if alice has a break down on the floor" I say.
"She won't I gave her some anti-anxiety medication yesterday to take before they went on" He says before the music stops and we clap before the announcer comes out on the floor.
"Give it up for The Dancing Queens" The announcer announces and we all clap for the team.
" And next up from Forks Dance Academy is the Keep Calm and Dance Team" He says and Carlisle and I whistle as the children come out onto the floor.
They get into their starting position and I see Alice look up at me. I nod as the music starts for their routine. Carlisle and I watch the routine very closely.
At the end of their dance the audience gives them a standing ovation and I smile knowing this is the confidence allice needed. After more dancers they finally announce the winners.
"4th place Dancing Diva's,3rd place Black Ninjas, 2nd place Keep Calm and Dance, and 1st place Dance Baby's" the announcer says.
"O my god" I cry out and hug Carlisle.
"Told you they could do it" He says as the kids come out and get their medals and trophy. After pictures we rush off to their practice room.
I rush to Bella and em and hug them as Carlisle hugs rose and jasper. I hug rose and jazz after Carlisle is done and Carlisle congratulates em before going to Alice.
"Did you take the medication?" He asks and Alice looks down at her feet.
"No i didn't" She says and I look at her in shock.
"You calmed yourself?" I ask in amazement. She nods her head before smiling at me.
"OH baby that's amazing" I say and hug her again.
"That's truly amazing Alice" Carlisle says and offers a hug to Alice who surprises us all and hugs him.
"Thank you." she says as she pulls back and looks at us all staring at her.
"What?" she asks.
"You hugged Carlisle" I say shocked.
"Yes, I trust him now" She says and walks over to the mini fridge in the room to grab a water bottle.
After talking with the kids for awhile they start to yawn and we head up to our hotel rooms. Carlisle and I booked our own separate room while Edward and Bella shared the two rooms with the kids.
"Behave children" I warn them before Carlisle and I disappear into our room. I smile as Carlisle and i lay down wrapped in each other's arms.
"What's got you so smiley?" Carlisle asks.
"Alice is finally trusting you. It lifts my spirits so much. My household wont be split anymore" I say and tilt my head up to kiss him.
"I told you I would eventually gain her trust" He says and kisses me.
