A/N well its been several months lost track. Gonna be honest, I've currently lost all inspiration, the ideas are still there just writing them leads me no where. So with that said this is prob gonna be it for awhile. Word of warning, this chapter was not edited so, theres that. Sithis be praised.

"Oblivion damned books!"Velixare shouted resisting the urge to set the shelves on fire. Placing the book in the ever growing pile, he breathed deeply trying to relax slightly. Thankfully the library was empty at the time. He was currently in the oldest section for history. The sun had set and risen again, but still nothing new had been discovered regarding the other races.

Picking up another book he skimmed through it. "Thirty books and not one with information I need." Tossing the book onto the pile, Velixare rubbed his temple, trying to calm the growing headache. "They couldn't simply vanish, even with their power." Looking out the window he saw a crowd slowly gathering.

Grabbing his staff he stood and began walking away from the shelf. "Well this might be interesting. Making his way down the tower he continued thinking on his search. His query could certainly hide themselves, but to not have a word spoken off them for centuries? Surely one would have come out of hiding to make a pact or even devour the humans. Reaching the courtyard he dismissed the dragons from his mind.

Looking over the crowd Velixare saw why it had gathered such a group. On one side stood a student and on the other was odd boy from the summoning. As he was to far away, he couldn't hear what was being said over the talking crowd. The student waved a rose and a single petal fell. From the petal rose a bronze statue in the shape of a female warrior. In a foolish or vain attempt the boy rushed forward with no weapon. Those watching were rather amused to see the boy easily beaten back by the golem.

Deciding to have a shred of mercy Velixare looked to see that all were occupied before raising his hand. A small blue light grew out from his palm before flying above the crowd. As it connected with the golem it showed itself as a shard of ice impaling the construct. All eyes turned toward the source of the projectile and came to rest on Velixare.

Making his way forward the crowd parted for him. "I seem to recall duels being prohibited. Or was I misinformed?"

"This is an duel of honor between a commoner and myself." the student with the rose answered. "Who are you to interfere!"

Now standing beside the student Velixare found himself looking directly into his eyes. Ignoring the question he spoke, "A duel whether for ego or money should be done with honor." Pulling out a short sword hidden under his robe, Velixare tossed it toward the boy. It landed blade first into the ground. "Take the blade and finish this, for good or ill."

Turning around he made his way out from the circle never looking back to see the conclusion of the fight. He did however hear the sound of swords so at least he knew the boy's ego wasn't as great as his will to live.

Returning to the library, Velixare paid no more thought to the event as he continued his study. The next time he would leave, Velixare found himself inside a classroom patiently waiting. Sitting at the desk he idly tapped his fingers on the wood, pondering what all to cover. Pondering this his mind once more wondered to his search. Not a single dragon seen in centuries. Such a thing seemed impossible to imagine for the man.

His thoughts were brought back to the room with the sound of scraping chairs. Rising from his chair he spoke to the class, "Greeting children. As many of you know, the subject of this class is a new one for the academy." He waited a moment for them to mumble amongst themselves, before raising his hand to silence it. "Under the advice of Princess Henrietta, the academy has decided to begin combat oriented sessions."

Seeing that a red haired student had their hand up, Velixare motioned her to speak. "You were the one who interrupted the duel right?"

Ignoring the question slightly he responded, "As duels are illegal under her majesty's law, I could not have stopped one at any recent point." Clapping his hands he continued, "Now before we began, I am forced to inform you that teaching method will be much different than you are use to. The majority of this shall be through interaction."

Making his way around the desk he observed the students. Not for the first time he questioned how it had come to this, colored hair. One in particular stood out to the man, mostly cause she seemed so out of place. A young girl appearing no older than a child with bright pink hair. "The one who summoned the boy, if I remember."

"Combat is not limited to strictly to magic as you believe." Reaching into the folds of his arm he grabbed the items. "Yes your magic is an advantage at long range, it takes time. Time that can be exploited by those with a swift hand." None of the students saw it,but several felt something come close to where they sat. As they turned to look, they found a dagger impaled in the wood behind them.

"Make no mistake, the fact that it missed was intentional." Looking each student in the eye he continued "A quick hand with a knife or an experienced warrior, at close range either could defeat a slow mage." His gaze continued from one student to the next until they landed on a pair of bright blue. While the others gave off the fear they now felt, these showed only caution, and slight interest. Such eyes told of one experienced to battle.

Ignoring the girl for the time being, "Those of you who strive and grow in this class will become stronger. As for those who falter and slow," Velixare walked to the nearest thrown dagger and pulled it out, "you shall know fear and be cast aside." Twirling the dagger idly in his grip, "Such is the way of the ancient Nords, and so shall you learn."

Looking toward the window, the man noticed that he had spent to long speaking and so moved off to the side. "Today we shall simply test your ability in the most basic way." That said, he picked up his staff and pointed at the floor. From the spot a purple portal appeared and out stepped a frost atronach. Good use for robes, easy to perform sleight of hands, such as casting [Frost Thrall] and nobody see.

It was actually rather humorous how all the children jumped at the sight of the atronach. The Frost are the least likely to attack, add the control of the summoner and this one was harmless. Perhaps it was simply how it appeared, regardless it was here.

"Now your task is a simple one. Attempt to destroy this creature with your most powerful spell." That said, Velixare took a seat to the side of the room. "You the redhead, lets start with you." Before he blinked a fireball was already heading toward the atronach. When it connected a small puddle was around the daedra, but it was mostly intact.

"Good try, but a direct attack won't always work." As each student attempted their own spell, each was told a flaw in their attack. During the time the atronach continued to be whittled away. Velixare still wasn't sure how that blue haired girl had sliced off its arm. Truly he wasn't paying to much attention, that is until a group of whispers began. Bringing his attention back to the present he noticed that the pink haired girl was standing in front of the atronach.

He vaguely recalled the name Louise Valerrie? Valura? Deciding he didn't care Velixare watched as the she began the process for a fireball. Process perfected but not the result she had intended. As the spell was triggered an explosion blew threw the room, tossing anyone unfortunate enough not under their desk, to the side.

Rising from the floor Velixare's widened eyes gazed upon the now, soot stained child. "Class dismissed." As the students began leaving the room, he pointed at the girl. "Not you Valliere. I must speak with you." Turning around he began mumbling to himself. Those that past him heard random bits that made no sense. "Sithis.. Child… impossible.,, dread father."
