New Rules
Summary: AU, all human Doccubus with a college setting. Lauren needs to get back in the game and Bo needs to figure out where she's headed in life.
A/N: this is my first attempt at an all human AU. Hopefully, it's not completely terrible. :)
A house party was the last place Lauren wanted to be on a Friday night. All she wanted to do was stay inside her comfy apartment with a book that had nothing to do with medicine. Maybe she'd even go a little crazy and have a glass of wine.
Her midterms were over and all she wanted to do was decompress and this was not what she had in mind when she thought that. The problem was her friends didn't feel the same way. Crystal and Ciara wanted to get out and let loose now that they all had some free time and that meant dragging Lauren to wherever they thought would be fun.
A house full of drunken twenty-something's was not her type of fun even if it was a big house and the booze was free.
"Lauren, stop frowning!"
She turned her head toward Crystal and tried to give a sincere smile. "I'm not frowning."
"Yes, you are," Ciara agreed as she handed Lauren a drink. "Cheer up and drink up!"
"That's your response for everything."
Her two friends laughed and the three of them turned toward the crowd. Lauren always observed parties like this as an awkward drunken mating ritual that she really never wanted any part of. She preferred meeting people through her classes and various clubs that she had been involved in. That way they had her similar likes and there was less of a possibility of her being dragged to one of these parties. The only reason she wound up with friends like Crystal and Ciara was they were her roommates her freshmen year. Not that she didn't appreciate her friends. They were just very different from her.
"I guess I don't see the reason for attending these parties," Lauren commented as she watched two men try to out-drink each other.
"The point is to have a little fun and maybe get laid," Ciara said simply. "Both things you are in need of."
Lauren raised a disbelieving eyebrow. "What?"
"She's right, Lauren," Crystal agreed. "You've been such a loner and since you broke up with Nadia six months ago, kind of a downer."
"I haven't been a downer."
Her friends looked at each other before Crystal spoke up. "Yes, you have. If it wasn't for us dragging you out of your apartment every once and awhile you'd never leave except for class. You need to get out there."
Lauren looked over the people within eyesight. "Do you honestly think that I'll actually meet someone here?"
"Honey, we're not asking you to pick out someone you want to marry," Ciara said easily as she took a drink. "But you are in desperate need of getting laid."
"Yep, time to dust off the cobwebs down there," Crystal added in quickly.
"Thanks," Lauren said sarcastically. "I don't do one night stands. I like to get to know someone first, go on a couple dates, see what we have in common . . . that kind of thing."
"That will not help you tonight." Crystal shook her head. "Nope, Ciara and I will find someone for you tonight to have a little fun with and that's what you need, Lauren. You need a little fun without the commitment."
"Yes, so stop arguing, have a drink and let Crystal and I help you out. We've been to tons of these things so we know most of the people here."
"Yeah, we'll find someone perfect."
Lauren looked at her two friends and thought about the odds of them catching her if she decided to make a run for it. She figured she would probably be successful in getting out of the party but she would never hear the end of it for days later. It would probably be easier to simply suffer through a few hours and have a couple drinks than run.
"Fine," she relented. "Find someone for me."
Her friends clapped their hands excitedly and began looking over the crowd. Lauren took their distraction as an opportunity to wander a little but all she saw were people getting drunk and doing stupid things. It just didn't do anything to impress her and no one caught her eye as someone she wanted to talk to. Everyone looked like someone who would want to talk about TV or sports and would find her medical ramblings too geeky.
She leaned against a wall nursing her second drink for about an hour before Crystal and Ciara rushed over to her with huge grins on their faces. Lauren let out a sigh and attempted to smile. "I'm guessing you think you've been successful."
"Lauren, it's perfect," Crystal said happily. "We've found someone who only does one night stands."
"Yes," Ciara agreed, "and she's superhot, too."
They grabbed Lauren by the arms and led her into another room. By the door there were a couple of women talking to each other and it was easy for Lauren to figure out who her friends were talking about. One of them was dressed to kill in a tight leather skirt and a top that showed off an insane amount of cleavage. She had incredible brown eyes and a smile that seemed to light up the room. Her friends certainly knew how to pick out someone.
Lauren tore her eyes away from the woman and looked at her friends. "How do you know she only does one night stands?"
"She's not a student," Crystal explained. "She's a townie. Those two crash the parties every once and awhile and she always ends up scoring."
"That doesn't answer my question."
"So you know the guy that used to hang around me last semester? Dyson?" Ciara paused as Lauren nodded. "He fell hard for her a couple months ago and she crushed him when he wanted more. I guess she's done that to a couple of guys and a girl along the way. So she's perfect for you tonight."
"Yeah, she can bang you back into the game," Crystal said happily. "No expectations."
Lauren thought about what they were saying. She had never even considered a one night stand before but the woman her friends had pointed out was certainly attractive. Maybe it was time to let go, even if it was just for a night.
"What's her name?" Lauren asked as the woman looked her way and they made eye contact.
"Her name's Bo."
"Hey, Bo-Bo, what's on your radar tonight?"
Bo looked toward Kenzi as she grabbed two drinks and handed one to her. They stood by the door and observed the people drinking and having a good time. "No one is."
"Then why are we even here?"
That was a good question and Bo wasn't sure she had an answer for it. She had asked Kenzi if she wanted to crash one of the college parties more because she was bored than anything else. She wasn't really interested in hooking up which was the reason she normally dragged her best friend out to a party thrown by a college student.
"I was bored."
"Bo, if you're bored and wanted a drink all we had to do was go to your grandpa's bar. We wouldn't have to put up with these college drunks trying to hit on us."
Bo thought about that but she was distracted by a blonde that suddenly walked into the room with a couple of other women. She got the impression immediately that the woman didn't want to be there and figured she was only at the house to please the pair she was with. Bo also immediately noticed how incredible her ass looked her tight jeans.
"Wow, we've been here 20 minutes and you already have your eyes on someone. I knew you wanted to come here to hook up."
"I haven't seen her before," Bo commented as she noticed the blonde looking her way. "We've been to a few parties here and she's never been here. I definitely would've noticed."
"That's because you only stick around until you find someone to have a little fun with. That doesn't leave a lot of time to talk to other people."
Bo looked back at her friend. "Kenz, the last thing I want is to date someone who goes to this college. Once was more than enough. You know I only come here to have a good time now."
"Trust me, I get that," Kenzi said then sighed as she noticed Bo turned her attention back to the woman across the room. "Go get her, tiger. I'm gonna go back to the bar or back to the apartment with some wonderful booze that I'm about to liberate from these college students."
"Yeah, yeah," Bo mumbled as she walked away from her friend and toward the woman on the other side of the room.
Her friends seemed to be aware of her approach because suddenly they were nowhere to be found and the woman she couldn't seem to look away from was by herself. Bo smiled as she stopped in front of her and quickly looked her up and down. She was definitely someone she could have some fun with.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"I'm Bo."
"Lauren."
Bo smiled and took her hand, rubbing it gently with her thumb. "Nice to meet you, Lauren. I can't say I've seen you at one of these before."
"I'm not exactly someone who goes to these things," Lauren said as she looked down at their hands. "I'm more of a 'stay at home and study' type of person."
"Kinky."
Lauren laughed as Bo winked at her. "I don't anyone has called that kinky before."
"First time for everything," Bo said as she grinned. Lauren's laugh was intoxicating and suddenly she wanted to get her away from the party and from anyone else who might steal her away. "Would you wanna get out of here?"
At first she thought she might have said the wrong thing and should have probably taken it slower but instead Lauren nodded. Bo smiled and took her hand again as they maneuvered their way out of the house and onto the sidewalk. They began their slow walk away from the house when Bo remembered what she normally asked.
"Your friends will be okay with you leaving?"
Lauren nodded. "Yes, I think they kind of suspected it."
"Did you drive here?" Bo asked, hoping she would say no because that would mean she could get her in her car and then she could get her to her apartment where she was sure they would be more comfortable.
"No, my friend Crystal dragged me here so she drove." She laughed quietly. "I'm not exactly a partier."
Bo nodded. "I'm parked just down the street. We can hang out at my apartment if you want or . . . you know, I can drive you home."
Lauren seemed to be debating her response and for a moment Bo wondered if she did the right thing in giving her an out like that. It was something she always did though. She wanted to have a fun time with someone who wanted it just as much as she did.
"We can hang out at your place."
Bo grinned widely and kept walking Lauren to her car, opening the passenger door for her before getting in herself and starting the car. They drove in silence for a couple minutes while Bo drove away from the party and toward the center of the city where her apartment was.
She lived with Kenzi only a few blocks away from her grandfather's bar where she worked occasionally when she wasn't working at an office downtown. It was big enough for the both of them, with enough room for them to have their own space. That way Bo could have her late night guests and Kenzi could sleep off her hangovers in peace.
"So why do you go to parties like that if you don't want to?"
"They wanted me to get over my ex."
"Well, I could definitely help with that," Bo said as she looked over at Lauren, smirking. "You're a student then I take it?"
Lauren nodded. "Just started med-school. I worked ahead of the rest of my class so I'm a year ahead of my friends even though we started together. Not med-school, I mean, just college. Neither one of them have the same interests as I do." She looked over at Bo. "Why were you at that party?"
"I was bored and nothing else really spoke to me, you know?" Bo looked at her and smiled. "Guess the night's not a total waste now."
Silence fell over them again and soon Bo was pulling her car to a stop in front of a small apartment building. It didn't look like anything special but Bo thought it had its own personal charm and that was why she stayed there even though she could afford something a little nicer. That and she wasn't about to change her ways just because she could.
They got out of the car and walked toward the apartment in another silence but Bo was impressed that it wasn't awkward. Every once and awhile the person she was with would chatter so nervously that she rushed to the apartment so she could get their clothes off and completely shut them up. She wasn't getting that feeling from Lauren though, even if she got the vibe that this wasn't something the other woman did often.
Bo opened the door to her apartment and let Lauren in before deciding not to waste any more time. She quickly put her arms around the other woman, kissing her gently. It took a couple seconds before soon Lauren was responding to her, kissing her back easily. They simply stood there kissing for a few minutes as Bo slowly backed Lauren up until she was pressed against the wall. It was only then did Bo break away from her lips and began to kiss over her jaw and then down her neck.
"My room is this way."
It was only a matter of seconds before Bo had Lauren in her room and pinned to the bed. They kissed deeply as Bo began to unbutton Lauren's blouse and the other woman moved her hands underneath her top. They were wearing far too many clothes for her liking and she sat up as so she could pull off her top, revealing a lacy black bra underneath. She noticed Lauren's eyes go wide at the sight and she grinned.
"Like what you see?"
Bo expected some sort of response but instead all she got was an action as Lauren sat up and began to place wet kisses all over her chest as she reached around and unclasped her bra. She knew she'd made the right decision about taking Lauren to her place once she felt her start to suck on a newly exposed nipple.
They were going to have a lot of fun tonight.
Lauren was slow to wake up but she figured that was because she had been so active the night before.
Her friends were definitely right about Bo. She had completely banged her back into the game and a couple more times after that for good measure. They had made use of every inch of Bo's large bed and Lauren knew that if Bo completely had her way they probably would've done more than that. The other woman was very adventurous and it was all she could do to hold on for the ride.
When her friends told she should have a one night stand she hadn't expected to be occupied the entire night. She had expected to have a little fun for an hour or two and then she'd collect her clothes and leave. That was what a one night stand was, wasn't it? She had nothing to compare the night to so she wasn't sure. This was the first time she'd seen someone naked without going on a couple dates first.
She didn't even know anything about Bo except for her name.
As she opened her eyes Lauren began to fully realize that she was still at Bo's apartment. She wasn't sure if that was something she shouldn't have done. The etiquette of one night stands was lost on her which meant that the morning could really blow up in her face. If Bo didn't want her there she was going to have a problem.
Of course, she realized that she couldn't really move at the moment anyway. Lauren was on her back, half covered by sheets and half covered by the woman she'd spent the night with. Bo was sleeping peacefully on her stomach, one leg positioned in between Lauren's and an arm draped across her stomach. Her head was right next to Lauren's and she could feel her breath hitting her neck.
She looked toward the window and knew it was probably time for her to get up and get out. Lauren looked around the room and tried to see where Bo had thrown her clothes. Her shirt ended up on the door knob of the closet and she saw her jeans on a chair but knew she would need to search out the rest of them. She slowly tried to remove herself from the bed without waking Bo but as soon as she moved she heard a groan beside her.
"Ugh, what time is it?" Bo mumbled out as she moved her hand to shield her eyes.
"Morning," Lauren said as she moved to sit up.
Before she could get out of bed Bo stopped her, pulling her back down and straddling her quickly. "You know, I haven't slept that well in a long time. I think you completely tired me out last night, Lauren."
Lauren took a moment to take in the beauty that was Bo, placing her hands on her hips, before looking up to meet her eyes. "I think I can say the same."
Bo leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Lauren's lips which had her confused. This didn't seem like behavior that she would think would go along with someone who only did one night stands. It made her wonder what happened with the people her friends said Bo had crushed in the past. Had she kicked them out in the morning or even right after? She didn't think she would have given them a good morning kiss.
"Mm," Bo mumbled as she moved away, "I think I'm all rested up and ready for more."
Lauren opened her mouth to say something, maybe even ask what they were doing since she was morning and she should really be going, but all she did was moan as Bo started to kiss down her body. Just like last night, her lips do exactly what to do as moved down until her face was buried between her legs and her tongue was seeking out her clit.
"Oh, God, that's good," Lauren moaned out as one of her hands moved into Bo's hair.
It was only a few minutes before she was coming hard, crying out into the room as Bo kept a firm grip on her hips to keep her in place. After her body became limp she felt Bo kiss her way back up her body until she was kissing her lips again.
Bo ended the kiss and moved off her, resting on her side next to her. "So last night was pretty amazing. You have skills, doctor."
Lauren blushed as Bo smirked and looked her up and down. She wanted to ask about the doctor comment but then remember she had told her about med school. "You're not so bad yourself."
There was a silence between them and Lauren started to think about ways she could excuse herself to get dressed and get out of the apartment. She didn't think there was any way that Bo would want her to stay and if she was honest with herself, she wasn't sure if she wanted to stay. She didn't know anything about the woman in bed next to her and now she was getting nervous.
Bo looked into her eyes and smiled as she ran a finger over Lauren's skin. "There is absolutely no food in my apartment except for leftover takeout that's probably gone bad." She paused. "How about we have some more fun in the shower then get some food?"
Lauren was speechless. This wasn't what she had in mind when she had let her friends find someone to hook up with. She was pretty sure breakfast was not included in this situation. Morning sex probably wasn't a thing either.
"Uh, Bo . . . I don't know . . ."
"You expected me to kick you out in the morning, didn't you?"
Lauren simply stared at her as Bo grinned at her. She had such beautiful eyes that Lauren found it hard to look away. "Well, yes. I kind of did."
"Well, I've never had someone so gorgeous in my bed before," Bo said, chuckling as Lauren scoffed at the line. "Okay, normally I do but you're here and I'm hungry. So . . . breakfast?"
She only looked at her for a moment before smiling. Lauren had to admit she was curious about the woman she'd spent the night with. "Sure, let's go."
Bo pulled her out of night before grabbing her by the waist. "Shower first."
