Hi guys I'm back, I know what you're thinking, "Where the bloody hell have you been". Answer to that would be suffering from a major lack of inspiration, hence my new OneShot series where I basically ask for you guys to inspire me lol. My lovely Twitter followers have been kind enough to send me some awesome prompts to start me off and I ask for you guys to do the same, send me what you want me to see and ill attempt to write it.

Here is the first which was requested by the wonderful DreamshadeIvy on Twitter, I hope I made her proud. Leave me a review to tell me what you think or to leave me a prompt, be patient with me though I already have a few but I'll get to you I promise.

As always huge thanks goes to my beautiful beta Geli, she's just too awesome to function (Mean girls quote)

Prompt – Inspired by spoiler photos for season 4B. During their road trip to New York Regina and Emma happen upon Robin in a Tavern.

Regina paused at the bottom of the steps leading up to the dingy, run down bar. She wrinkled her nose up in distaste as she regarded the dirty windows and the muffled hard rock drifting from the building. She turned with raised eyebrows to the blonde saviour at her side and spoke, a hard edge to her voice.

"Why in god's name have we stopped here of all places?"

Emma sighed and levelled her with a tired look.

"Because Regina thanks to your refusal to let me stop even for five minutes, we have been driving for seven hours. I need a bathroom break and some coffee before I go insane."

Regina rolled her eyes at Emma's slightly whiny tone, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she answered her.

"We are in New York Miss Swan, last time I checked Starbucks has coffee and bathrooms."

Emma smirked at this before turning to look at Regina fully, making sure she had her full attention before speaking again.

"And no doubt they have better bathrooms and coffee than they will have here, however we are here to find Gold, we have no idea what he's planning and currently the only thing we have in our favour is the element of surprise. We can't run the risk of Gold finding us before we find him and let's face it this is the last place we are likely to run into him."

Regina huffed in annoyance as the realisation that Emma was right settled in.

"Fine." She snapped. "But let's make it quick, I want us to do what we came here to do and get back home to Henry as quick as possible."

Since Robin had left town, Henry was the only thing that was keeping her from falling apart at the seams. Regina winced as she felt the familiar stab of pain in her chest at the thought of her absent soulmate. She rapidly blinked to stop the tears she could feel welling up from falling before taking a deep breath to steady herself.

Three months, he had been gone three months and the pain was still as fresh as the day she felt his hand slip from hers as he disappeared over the town line. Her life has become about distraction, anything to keep her busy so she wouldn't think of him and the hollow ache in her chest she felt due to his absence. Henry, her duties as the re-elected mayor and of course fending off the latest threat in Storybrooke were all helping to keep her heartbreak at bay, the latter being what brought her and Emma to New York in the first place. The distractions worked to a point, her days were jam packed and gave her little time to think, which was what she aimed for.

Nothing could help her during the nights though, once Henry was asleep and it was just her in a much too large bed clutching a green scarf to her chest, the gradually fading smell of forest still clinging to the material. She had forgot what a full night's sleep felt like, she woke frequently, covered in sweat and sobbing his name as the feel of his hand slipping from hers replayed in her mind over and over again.

She was pulled out of her thoughts by the feel of Emma tabbing her shoulder gently.

"No argument from me." Emma answered her gently, pushing her gently towards the steps of the bar.

Once they had both reached the top, Emma pulled open the heavy wooden door and both women entered the dimly lit bar. Regina wrinkled her nose in distaste as the smell of stale beer assaulted her nostrils and once again glared at Emma who just shrugged at her in return. The bar was mostly deserted apart from a bored looking bartender and a couple of lone drinkers, which was not surprising as it were a Monday night.

Emma groaned before speaking.

"OK, I'm going to go and try to use the bathroom without touching anything, why don't you go and rustle up a couple of coffee's?"

Regina sighed in answer before leaving Emma's side to walk purposefully over to the bar. The bartender did a double take as he spotted her approach and she noted the way his eyes raked over her body. She fixed him with her best Evil Queen glare and he quickly dropped his eyes to the floor before clearing his throat and giving her a sheepish smile.

"What can I get you?" He asked her pleasantly. She had quickly put a stop to any flirty behaviour from him and she was grateful that he had quickly got the message. The mere thought of engaging in even innocent flirtatious behaviour with another man made her sick to her stomach. She couldn't and the way she felt now she doubted she would ever be able to again.

"Two black coffee's please." She answered him politely yet curtly, giving him a small nod as he told her they would be coming right up.

She gingerly perched on the high stool as he left her to prepare her order. She lifted her hand to gently rub her temples as she felt a headache brewing behind her eyes. It had been a long few days, finding out that Gold had set something in motion that could mean bad things for all of them meant everyone's time had been taken up tracking him down in order to try and put a stop to his plans. Emma putting her experience as a bail bonds person to good use had finally tracked his whereabouts to New York hence their sudden road trip. It had been a long day for both of them, Regina had insisted that they didn't stop once they had set out, wanting to deal with Gold and get home as soon as possible, back to Henry who held the last thread to her sanity.

The door to the bar swung open and a gust of cold wind hit her, making her shiver and pull her jacket closer around herself, if she was honest she hadn't felt warm since he had left, it was like cold had settled in her bones and no amount of heat would fix it.

She vaguely registered the sound of footsteps behind her as someone entered the bar, she took a sip from her coffee that the bartender had just placed in front of her before setting the cup back down.

She suddenly gasped as a familiar feeling hit her, a feeling of liquid heat rushed through her veins and her skin began to tingle as if it had been hit by hundreds of tiny sparks of electricity. She tried to shake it off but the feeling only got stronger and she almost cried out by the intensity of it. Only one thing had ever made her feel this way and she cursed her body for playing tricks on her.

It couldn't be, there was no way.

She heard a small gasp behind her and her heart leapt to her throat while her hands began to tremble. She refused to believe it, she refused to get her hopes up in order to have them crumble in front of her eyes again, she couldn't stand it.

"Regina...?"

The voice was little more than a broken whisper yet it was so beautifully familiar that it made her let out a chocked sob. Carefully she turned on her stool desperately hoping it was real yet so terrified it would end up being a beautiful dream. She lifted her eyes and tears sprung to them as her brown ones met the blue ones of her soulmate's.

Time seemed to stand still as they both just stared at each other, both too scared to move in case the other disappeared.

Suddenly the spell was broken and they both seemed to move at once, Regina leapt down off the stool and Robin stumbled forward. They met half way and Robin opened his arms ready for her as she threw herself into them. Her arms wound tightly around his neck as she clung desperately to him, inhaling the familiar smell of pine and smoke. He clung to her just as tightly, one arm wrapping around her waist while the other threaded into her hair. His voice was breathless as he whispered into her ear over and over again.

"Oh Regina, my Regina."

Who knows how long they stayed that way but that's how Emma found them, standing in the middle of the bar wrapped tightly in each other's arms, her sobbing into his chest as he whispered to her repeatedly that he was here.

...

Twenty minutes later they were both seated in a booth in the back of the bar, giving them some privacy to talk. Emma had left them alone while she had engaged the bar man in conversation hoping to find out more about the area in order to narrow down Gold's whereabouts.

"I can't believe you are really here." He whispered, as he stroked her cheek tenderly. Regina tilted her head, pressing her cheek further into his hold. Since the moment she had launched herself into his arms in the middle of the bar with no regard for anyone watching they hadn't stopped touching. It was like they were trying to make up for their time apart in a matter of a few minutes. They sat as close as possible in the booth, fingers linked, unwilling to let go. Regina turned her face so she could press her lips to his palm that was still on her cheek.

"Not that it matters to me because I'm just glad you are but, why are you here?" He asked her, dropping the hand on her cheek to the back of her neck and stroking the skin there.

She took a deep breath before answering him, her fingers drawing small circles on the back of his hand.

"Oh you know, same old, just chasing down the latest big bad to pose a threat to Storybrooke."

She smirked at him as she tried to make light of her words but he just frowned and clutched her hand tighter.

"Are you in any danger?" He asked her seriously and she quickly spoke to ease the raising panic she could see in his eyes.

"No more than normal, honestly this is really just an information gathering trip, nothing to worry about."

She saw him exhale in relief and her heart squeezed as she relished in having someone care for her safety as completely as he did once again. His brow creased and his voice was laced with confusion as he asked.

"But how will you get home? The spell on the town line, is it broken, can I come back?"

His voice sounded so hopeful and Regina's heart contracted painfully as she shook her head sadly as tears sprung to her eyes.

"No." She whispered "I found a spell so me and Emma could leave temporarily, it will break in twelve more hours, we need to be back in storybrooke by then and it's still only effective for those with magic, nobody else can leave or come back."

She saw the hope leave his eyes as quickly as it returned and she almost wept at the look of sadness in them. When he reached out his hand to gently brush her cheek she knew her eyes were mirroring his. The silence stretched on for a few moments as they both tried to deal with the fact that they would soon have to separate again, that this chance meeting as wonderful as it was appeared to be another way for fate to taunt and laugh at them. She cleared her throat and forced down her tears as she moved to change the subject.

"So New York, I have to say I'm surprised, I expected you to settle somewhere more... well forest – ey, not a big city."

He let out a small chuckle at her words before answering.

"Yeah that was the plan but Roland made the choice, he was so sad to leave Storybrooke, he loved it there that I was willing to do anything to raise his spirits. He wanted a big city because of that movie we all watched at your house with the mouse."

Regina smiled sadly at the memory of her, Robin, Roland and Henry snuggled on the sofa with popcorn.

"An American Tale." She whispered. "It was Henry's favourite as a child." She swallowed down a fresh wave of tears before asking.

"How is Roland?"

He smiled sadly at the mention of his son.

"He misses you; he talks about you all the time."

Her bottom lip trembled as she thought of the brown haired boy that had brought her so much joy in the time she had known him.

"I miss him too." She told him in a tiny voice. God she was so happy to see Robin, it felt so good to be able to touch him again and be touched by him but it left a bitter sweet taste in her mouth as she was haunted by the knowledge that they were basking in stolen moments and soon they would have to part again. She didn't want her time with him to be just about sadness and she again quickly tried to move on to lighter topics.

"And Marian, how is she settling in?"

Robin smiled slightly before answering.

"Better than I expected given the circumstances. She's still a little bewildered, not quite used to this world yet but she's trying really hard and she's just so grateful to have another chance to be alive and be a mother."

Regina knew she had asked but she couldn't help the stab of pain she felt to her heart as he told her of his life with his wife. She was happy for him, for Roland, they both had Marian back and they could be a family again and all she ever wanted for the two of them was to be happy but she was only human, despite the fact she was now firmly on the side of good she couldn't help the hurt that came with the knowledge that it came at the expense of her own happy ending. She shook the feeling away and gave him a small smile before forcing her voice to sound strong. She failed; it came out shaky as she told him.

"I'm happy for you all."

Robin frowned at her in confusion and she saw the realisation in his eyes when he processed her words.

"Regina-" He started, cupping her chin so he could lift her downcast eyes to focus on him. "Roland and I are happy Marian is healthy and well and I'm thrilled that Roland has the chance to have his mother in his life but make no mistake this situation wasn't what any of us wanted. We are just making the best of what we have been given."

"But I thought-" She started before he interrupted her.

"You thought what?" He asked her gently. "That I would just slip right back into playing happy family with Marian? Regina I wouldn't, I couldn't, I made a choice before I left, I made a choice to follow my heart to you, that choice doesn't become void just because it was taken from me before I could put it into practice."

Regina's glassy eyes searched his and she saw the truth in them, she should know by now that she needn't have even looked, he never gave her anything but the truth. Her voice was small as she spoke.

"So you and Marian aren't...?"

He shook his head quickly as his hand slid up to her cheek, caressing it with the backs of his fingers.

"Oh sweetheart no." He told her firmly. "We are Roland's parents and we are friends but nothing more now. You're it for me Regina. Whether we can be together or not I know I could never love another like I love you so there's no point trying, and Marian knows this and accepts it."

The first tear that she had been fighting for so long now fell, quickly followed by another then another and he dashed them away with his thumb before pulling her against his chest and holding her there while she sobbed.

"Come here sweetheart, please don't cry."

His words made her sob harder as she clutched his shirt desperately.

"Oh god Robin, I miss you, I miss you so much."

Her words were muffled by his shirt but he caught them and he whispered tenderly in her ear while his hand stroked soothingly through her hair.

"I know my darling; I miss you too, so much."

He held her until she calmed, her sobs turning to small hiccups. He draw back from her and placed a lingering kiss to her forehead before looking into her eyes. She looked back at him getting lost in his eyes, eyes she loved so much, the colour, the sparkle and the love she always saw in them directed directly at her. He brushed a lock of hair away from her face and she took a deep breath to steady her raging emotions. His voice was tender but serious as he spoke, pulling her full attention to him.

"Look Regina I know you are not into hope speeches and I could sense your desire to roll your eyes as soon as I said the words."

She let out a little chuckle and he smiled at her in return before continuing.

"But I haven't lost hope in us Regina, I can't and I won't. When I think of my future you are all I see and I'm not ready to give up on that. Now I'll do everything I can on my end but as I have no idea where to start and this is a magic matter I'm fairly certain most the work will fall on you. I'm counting on you to make sure I get back to you, however long it takes."

She let out a small sob at his words and she shook her head as her broken voice told him.

"I don't know how, I don't know how to get you back."

He pulled her closer to him and took both her hands in his, his voice firm and encouraging as he told her.

"I have faith in you Regina; I have faith that you will find a way and I need you to have faith in us too. Can you do that for me?"

She took a deep breath, her eyes meeting his which were filled with so much trust and hope. She nodded silently, agreeing with his plea. It wasn't enough for him though and he desperately asked her.

"Promise me."

"I promise, I'll never give up on us."

He let out a breath of relief and gave her a bright smile before leaning in to catch her lips with his.

They both moaned at the first contact as they savoured the feel of each other again. It started off slow and tender, as they discovered each other again and the crackle of electricity that sparked between them that was always present when they were intimate which found it's familiar way back. Robin gently nipped at her bottom lip and she let out a gasp which allowed him to sweep his tongue into her mouth and meet hers, the feeling making her whimper and bring her arms up to wrap around his neck, one hand clenching at the short hair at the back of her neck. He moaned at that and threaded one of his hands into her hair so he could tilt her head back and deepen the kiss further, his other hand finding the small of her back so he could pull her closer to him. The kiss was quickly becoming frantic and she was grateful for the secluded corner they had found and the low lighting of the bar. Their tongues battled for dominance as their hands wondered trying to be everywhere at once, caressing cheeks, gripping shoulders and grabbing up handfuls of hair. Their breathing was coming out in quick pants every time they briefly separated their lips to just slam them back together again. Both were quickly loosing track of time and the knowledge of where they were, all that existed was each other and the feeling of wet lips and moist breath between them. Once they started it was like they were unable to stop, like nothing would ever stop them until the sound of a throat being cleared caught both their attentions and they broke apart breathing harshly as they turned to look at Emma who was the source of the sound.

"Aren't the pair of you a little old to be making out in bars like teenagers?" She asked jokingly, a mocking smile on her face.

Regina rolled her eyes at the blonde while Robin just let out a light chuckle, moving away from her but grasping her hand and bringing it up to his lips to brush a tender kiss to the back of her hand before dropping it between them still keeping their fingers linked.

"As much as I hate to break this up guys, Regina we really need to get moving, clocks ticking and we need to get this done so we can get home before time runs out on that spell."

Regina clutched Robin's hand tighter and he soothingly rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb. She gave a small nod of understanding to Emma who genuinely looked sad at having to give the pair the news, she left telling her she will wait for her in the car.

Once alone again they both looked at one another as he reached up to brush the tear from her cheek she hadn't even realised had fallen.

"Till we meet again my love." He whispered to her before placing one last lingering kiss to her trembling lips.

She nodded in agreement before telling him in a broken whisper.

"I love you."

He answered without hesitation.

"I love you too."

There was no better way to end this moment with him and Regina knew that as she exited the booth with one last look to his eyes seeing the familiar look of love in them directed at her, knowing she would hold onto that look to give her strength until they could meet again.

Like the last time they had said goodbye the last feeling she had before she turned to walk away from him was of his fingers slipping from hers. However unlike last time it didn't fill her with the same heartbreak because she now had a new determination.

She would keep her promise to him; she would bring him back to her.
