CLEO

I sat in the juicenet cafe, slurping a mango smoothie down. Just as I was about to leave my phone rang. I just got an iPhone 5 and was still uploading everything to it. As I answered I found myself wishing it was Emma. "Hi, this is Cleo..."

"Oh my god Cleo, This is Emma. I just wanted to say I'm coming home tomorrow! I know it's short notice and all that but..."she started.

"Emma,Emma you're coming back!? For how long? Omg I missed you so much! Rikki will love to see you as well...I can meet you at your house,what time do you get back, we need to meet up as soon as possible cos' I've got a surprise for you!"I yelled down the phone.

"whoa Cleo nice to hear you too. I'll get back to you as soon as possible but listen, I've gotta go now." I could hear the suppressed laughter in her voice.

I blushed and said"oh yeah alright, See you soon then,"

"Bye"she chuckled. I could hear her laughter as she turned the phone off. For a moment I sat there in a haze,almost thinking that it was all a dream and i'd wake up soon. I heard a noise behind me and glanced up just in time to see Bella pull up a chair beside me."Hey"I murmured,still thinking about the surprise party I'd throw for her when she came back.

"What's wrong"she said, grinning as she waved her hand in front of my eyes,"did something happen?" I just remembered then that Bella had never met Emma, they's get along so well!

"Emma's coming back"I squealed, jumping up and rushing off, "I need to go tell Rikki!" I yelled over my shoulder. I ran all the way to Rikki's place and threw myself through the door. "Rikki!" I shouted, waiting for her reply. It had only to wait two seconds before she crashed down in front of me.

"Hey Cleo, what's up?" she stared at me,"did something happen?" I rolled my eyes, why did both of them think something was wrong!

"No nothing bad happened, Emma's coming back!"I reassured her,waiting for her reaction. She stared uncomprehendingly at me for a couple seconds, before bursting out in laughter.

"really? You've got to be kidding me, every time we chat she's telling me how amazing California is!"She laughed.

"No,No I'm not joking she actually IS coming back to tomorrow. Will you help me with the surprise party, Oh I can't wait!"I screeched. Rikki jumped up and we hugged, both of us bursting with anticipation as the thought of our best friend coming back.

"We can have it on Mako island, or maybe at her house? What should we do?" we both said in unison. Then we spun round and raced off to tell everyone the news.

EMMA

I laughed as I turned off my phone. I couldn't wait to be back in Australia with my friends. Sure California was beautiful but nothing like home. I wondered what Cleo's surprise was, as I meandered through to the dining room, light spilling through the ceiling to floor glass windows. As I made my way to my bedroom I couldn't help but shake my head at Cleo's bursts of enthusiasm. Knowing her like i do she'd be hatching a plot to throw a party with half the town there. That's on of the reasons I love her. After kicking Elliot out of my room I started to pack up, giddy with excitement. I turned round to get my clothes from the balcony when a black horse slammed into the glass.
