Day After Welcoming Speech

Jaune stood in front of his locker after breakfast, putting on his armor. The armor was nothing impressive, other than his cargo pants and T-shirt he wore guards on both his forearms and shins along with on his knees, and left shoulder down to his heart his right shoulder was left bare to avoid restricting its movement, completing the outfit were a pair of fingerless black gloves.

Finishing with his armor he put on his chain-knife (bet you forgot about that huh?) around his waist and throwing knife holster on his right hip. Last to go on was Shade Slayer, in which he had placed several small Dust crystals earlier that day, filling the six small holders while leaving the larger one empty-he wouldn't be needing that much firepower for a simple initiation. Placing the sword in the sheath on his left hip, he shut the door to his rocket propelled locker and turned around to head to the cliff they had been instructed to go to- and promptly ran into a red haired beauty in the middle of a conversation with another girl, this one with white hair.

"Sorry about that, name's Jaune" he said holding his hand out in way of greeting.

"Pyr-" The redhead began before being cut off.

"What is wrong with you?!" It was the white themed girl form the day before. Now that he was up close he could see that she had a thin scar over her left eye, and her jacket did have some color, some red on the collar's interior.

"Don't you have any idea who she is!?" She continued.

"Not in the slightest, no... Should I?"

The Albino looked almost affronted by his casual tone and blatant dismissal. "She's Pyrrah Nykos, the first person to ever win the Minstral tournament four years in a row!"

"Really? Cool." He said, was it really that big a deal, he never even heard of the Minstral Tournament before so he couldn't very well tell.

The fact that Jaune didn't seem to care about her victories seemed to please the girl even as he walked away after giving her a nod of acknowledgment and a small smile.

As the last of the students lined up on the metal squares by the cliff Professor Ozpin- a middle aged man with white hair and a green suit and scarf- took a sip of his coffee and spoke to them in a no nonsense voice. "I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the formation of teams. Make no mistake of this, you will be getting teammates... Today." As he said this Jaune heard Ruby make a nerves sound on his left, she obviously was expecting more time before being assigned.

"Now," Ozpin continued, "your partner will be with you for your entire time here at Beacon, as such it is in your best interests to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said the first person you make eye contact with while in the forest will become your partner for the next four years."

How in the hell does that make any sense? Jaune thought. They had no control over who they met up with first so how would they be able to pair up with someone who they knew they could work well with? It seemed the making of teams were done more by chance then compatibility.

"Now prepare your landing strategies, you will soon be sent into the forest. Your objective is to reach the northern end with your partner, there you will find a temple in which are several relics. You are to collect one and make it back here, you will be graded on how well you can achieve this goal. Good luck."

As soon as Ozpin had finished giving the directions the person on the far left was launched into the air by the platform he had been standing on, flying over the forest.

OK I know I said this chapter would have some action but I was wrong, sue me (not really)

I am now closing the poll for the pairing. As it is the 'Harem' option won. As such the top two girls- Blake and Ruby will be included, the rest however will be reviled later on, If you want any say then leave a review with your choice and your reasons behind it.
