Our Life From Now On
I know I'm really slow at putting on a story for White Orchids and there has been really good stories but I wanted to write one anyway. It seemed likely that they went back to Abbott's house for a meal after the wedding because it was night when they had the party so I included that. Besides, I didn't really want to waste his tables and food. He was so nice to offer them the use of his backyard for the wedding. That's what I'm doing here and also what happens after Lisbon's announcement. I loved the episode and am very sad the show's over but I will continue watching my DVD sets of all the seasons.
Disclaimer:Don't own show, if I did Vega would be at the wedding dancing with Wylie and also Cho would have somebody, possibly Summer.
Soon after the vows were said and everyone hugged Lisbon and Jane and celebrated their journey into marriage, they decided to go ahead and take Abbott's generous offer for his catered meal at his house. They had the people there so why not feed them as well. The guests and Jane and Lisbon arrived at Abbott's house. There was a large buffet with deli meat, cheeses, white, rye and other varities of bread and a a variety of fruit such as apples and strawberries. On one table there was a kid's buffet with macaroni and cheese as well as peanut butter and jelly. Abbott ordered a cake at the last minute and it was set up at the end of the buffet table for later. Jane, Lisbon, Wayne, Grace and Cho were all at the head table. Lisbon's brothers and their family were at the table next to them.
"T, guess what?." Stan excitedly said and went up to Lisbon where she was sitting next to Jane.
"Yes, Stan." Lisbon responded leerily. Jane grinned.
"You know Jimmy and I were at our hotel last night and there was a party going on there. Possibly a wedding." Stan said excitedly and stopped
"What about it?" Lisbon questioned not sure what her brother had in mind.
"We met the DJ from Dallas this morning at breakfast and we mentioned that our lovely and wonderful sister was getting married today and didn't have any music planned. So, he agreed to DJ tonight out by the pond. He has all his stuff and doesn't have to get back."
"Stan, we don't need a DJ. We just wanted something simple." Lisbon reminded him.
"Oh, come on T, we need to party. It's not everyday your big and only sister gets married. And besides that, I already paid him." Stan begged.
"That's great, Stan." Jane piped in. "Thank you." Jane liked Stan and Jimmy and was glad he reassured her about that all her brothers did was miss her. He would encourage her more to spend time with them and be involved in their lives more. Meeting them early he realized how much he missed being part of a family. He wanted to be part of the family and he enjoyed seeing Stan's children
"Okay, fine. Thank you Stan. Thank Jimmy too." Lisbon said as she saw Jimmy and Lucy makeout by the tree. Really? In front of all these people. She wasn't sure if she was looking forward to having Lucy as her sister in law. Jimmy couldn't find a girl ess perky and blonde. Of course she and Jane kissed her at the ceremony. At that moment when they said their vows, she forgot there was a group of people watching them. All she saw was Jane. She was still waiting when she could break her news to him. The news that she was having his child. She had found out the week ago when he had left to clear his head and when she was angry. She preferred to do it alone without people in their special log where he proposed a few days ago.
"So, Lisbon, Jane, how did this all come about leading to this?" Grace questioned interrupting Lisbon's thoughts. "If you don't mind me asking."
"Well, um.." Lisbon started and then looked to Jane for approval. She wasn't sure if he would want to get into the whole plane confession. He looked at her and nodded positively.
"Go ahead, Mrs. Jane." Jane coaxed. "What made this come about?"
"Well, a few months ago I almost made the biggest mistake of my life by moving to D.C. with a man I didn't love and he disturbed the flight." Lisbon happily pointed to Jane.
"Yep, I did. I finally told her I loved her." Jane smiled.
"That is so romantic." Grace smiled.
"I was desperate and realized I couldn't live without her and I couldn't let her leave."
" But not without getting arrested by TSA." Lisbon said.
"Of course, Jane can't do anything without getting in trouble." Wayne laughed.
"We're glad you did it so we can be here to celebrate your marriage. If you hadn't we wouldn't be here right now." Grace declared.
Later that night
All in all the wedding ended up being nicer than expected considering it was impromtu going from no guests to nearly forty people. Lisbon appreciated her brothers and family being there She did after all promised they would get together with them more often. She wasn't sure when she would tell them her other good news. Telling them about her getting married had overwhelmed her enough. She wanted to wait until she told Jane.
"I have a surprise since this wedding has been full of surprises." Jane smiled remembering Lisbon's news that they were expecting. He started to get up from the log after their hug.
"What is it?" Lisbon excitedly asked. She stood up as well.
"Since you probably don't want to spend our first night as a married couple in the Airstream.,I booked a hotel in town." Jane said taking her hand. "It's quite the nice place."
"You really didn't have to do that. I've grown quite fond of the Silver Bucket." Lisbon admitted walking along with him.
"Yes, I did. You deserve it." Jane insisted.
"Mints on the pillow room?" Lisbon asked flirtily.
"I specificially asked for mints on the pillow." Jane grinned.
"Good." Lisbon smirked. They continued back down to the party across the way and thanked the guests one more time. Soon, they got in the Airstream and took off for the hotel Jane booked.
They arrived at the historic Hotel Driskell. They checked in the large reception area with large columns and staircase. "Here you are Mr. Jane." The hotel clerk said handing him the keys.
Lisbon looked around. "This is too much. I thought you wanted simple too. It must have cost a fortune."
"Teresa, don't worry. It's our wedding night. We're supposed to stay in an outlandish and expensive hotel room." Jane quipped. They soon went up the room and Jane opened the door revealing a large suite all in gold and French style décor. The bed had a box of mints on the pillow with a note signed Teresa Lisbon.Lisbon went to the bed and picked up the note. For your wedding day Congratulations. These mints requested specifically by your loving husband.
Lisbon grinned at the note. "This room is huge, Jane! Is this the honeymoon suite or something?" She looked at Jane.
"Something like that. Now that we are married, can you try to call me Patrick?" Jane asked.
"I'll try, Patrick. This is nice." Thank you." Lisbon smiled happily. "Oh, I'm so tired." Lisbon took out her black lacy sleepwear and headed towards the bathroom. She came out and instantly went under the covers. Jane followed getting dressed in just a plain white t-shirt and pajama bottoms.
"You're not in your old man pajamas." Lisbon teased and scanned Jane up and down.
"I just thought it would easier in case you wanted to get kinky with me. You don't like my pajamas. Old man?"
"They're fine. Unfortunately I'm beat from this wedding planning. I guess I'm more tired lately." Lisbon admitted. Jane joined her in bed and laid next to her put his arm around her and kissed her. "Did you in your wildest dreams ever think you'd marry me?" Jane asked. "When you were boss at CBI."
Lisbon put her finger to her chin and smirked."Well, I can't count how many times I wanted to shoot or strangle you with how many stunts you pulled and how much paperwork I filled out because of the stunts." "Lying in Bed thinking of Patrick." She recalled Sean Barlow's observation. It was true sometimes she would just hoped that he would see her, but she knew he still had a lot of demons inside and of course he had mentioned he was afraid of anyone getting close to him because of Red John. She hadn't thought of that name in a long time. Ever since they moved to Texas the name had never been mentioned. He was out of their lives so there was no need.
Jane laughed in response. "So you were lying in bed thinking of me? Even if it was inflicting violence on me."
"I'm kidding, I didn't just think of that. Not just that. I thought about you closing cases. I worried about you in the attic. I worried about you when you were away. I read your letters and thought about imagine you were doing those things you wrote about. I have them in a box at my house."
"You kept my letters?" Jane asked surprised.
"Yes, you never bothered to look in my house. Patrick Jane, the king of snooping never thought to look." Lisbon stated smartly.
"I guess I didn't think about it." Jane admitted. "And you've been spending more time in the Airstream."
"I did keep them because they were my only connection to you at the time." Lisbon admitted.
"I'm flattered." Jane then placed his hand on Lisbon's stomach. "Should we announce our other news?" Jane asked.
"Let's wait on that a little. I don't want another hoopala with a baby shower." Lisbon said with a worried face. "Like the wedding." She was really hoping they weren't going have the same thing with the wedding and having it escalate. Of course they would eventually have to tell people considering she will be progressively showing each month. She would, she knew have to be restricted to staying in the office and not going out in the field. She knew Jane would make sure of that and be very protective of her.
"It turned out fine, Teresa." Jane reassured her.
"Yeah, it did. It was nice to see Wayne and Grace and was glad to see my brothers." Lisbon admitted.
"And we arrested Keller. That's going to be quite the story to tell our child." Jane stated.
"Our child. We're having a baby." Lisbon remembered smiling. She still was in shock herself since she found out. "That is something I didn't expect." Lisbon affirmed.
"When did you know?" Jane wondered.
"Last week."
"When I was gone." Jane said remorsefully.
"Yeah. I suspected then. "Lisbon admitted.
"I should've realized when you were overly emotional about Sylvan centerpieces." Jane realized. He had never seen her get so emotional especially over something as silly as centerpieces. She was usually his tough pocket rocket.
"You didn't know?" Lisbon questioned. She figured he may read her.
"I didn't. I told you, you're a mystery to me." Jane admitted.
"I was a little nervous telling you and then everything happened with you being kidnapped and the wedding being snowballed into something we didn't expect."
"Well, at least you didn't invite the entire state of Texas." Jane joked.
"Thank God." Lisbon sighed out relief. "As I was saying, I was nervous about telling you. Are you scared?"
"I'm not going to deny I won't be a little scared but I'm more happy than anything." Jane admitted. He was very happy. He never thought he would be married again let alone have child again. All those wasted years on revenge.
"Good. I'm really happy too." Lisbon smiled.
"I'm going to make sure you take care of yourself and I will concede to all your weird food cravings and put up with the bipolarness of changing moods." Jane explained grinning. He was really going to enjoy taking care of her. He knew she would be back to her grumpiness he originally knew in the beginning of their relationship and he would reassure her of his love.
"And morning sickness and a huge stomach. I heard stories from Grace." Lisbon grumpily described. She suddenly remembered Grace's complaints when she was pregnant.
"You'll look fine. I will love you no matter what." Jane admitted grinning. "Just remember -the baby who is growing is a gift of what you and I have shared together."
"Oh, Patrick, you always make something sour turn sweet." She kissed him sweetly on the cheek."
Am I the only person that Stan's kids were not the same age as they were in Little Yellow House? The oldest boy was 3 ½ and named Joey. The boy was named Jason in White Orchids and the boy looked older than 3 1/2. The girl looked older too. She was supposed to be in preschool. This is something I noticed.
Feedback is appreciated.
