Hey guys! Nice of you to click on this story! Please keep in mind that this is my first fanfic, and will be updated approximately whenever I feel like it, so don't hate on me too hard... please?
Disclaimer: I own nothing but my character. Please don't sue me.
Edit: the first few chapters are going to be a bit short, but they will get longer as the story goes on; I'm also planning to rewrite this story and add a bit more detail after I finish, so don't go anywhere!

Chapter 1: Laying the Foundation
I ran around the rain-slicked street, doing my best to dodge bullets as I fired blasts of searing-hot smoke at my enemies; they weren't as armored as the normal enemies were, but they definitely made up for that with their numbers. Unfortunately, my vision began to change as I took more and more damage, everything losing its color as black-and-white overtook everything and my sense of sound became muffled.
Seconds later, Delsin Rowe was dead.
"Goddamnit!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms into the air. This was the third time in a row I'd failed this mission; Delsin's Smoke powers obviously wasn't the way to go. Maybe Neon would do the trick; I was getting tired of dying over and over again, and it was really getting annoying.
I moved to restart the mission, but the game froze the moment I touched a button, the sounds beginning to loop as the screen began to distort a bit, the screen flickering every now and then. I scowled, moving closer to the PS4 in order to see what the problem was when a sudden burst of sound made me look up.
A swirling vortex of blue and red was emerging from my TV screen.
I let out a yell of shock and surprise and scrambled backwards - what was happening, how was this happening, who or what is doing this - but quickly began sliding forwards as the vortex's suction began to draw me in. I clawed at the rug in an attempt to remain where I was, but it was futile; within moments I'd been sucked inside. I screamed, but my vision went dark as I slammed into something hard.
...
I groaned in pain as my eyes flickered open, my head pounding and my vision blurring in and out of focus. Placing a hand to my pounding head, I sat up with a groan. Looking around, I found myself sitting in the middle of an alleyway, graffiti-marked walls and old, rusted fire escapes lining either side. Looking down, I saw I was still wearing what I had been in before I was brought here: a grey t-shirt declaring me the 'WORLD'S OKAYEST BROTHER,' a worn pair of blue jeans, and a pair of grey-and-red sneakers. I pushed myself to my feet and tried to walk, but ended up stumbling; my legs were still numb from whatever the hell had happened to me. I placed my arm against a wall to keep myself upright, at least until I got the blood flowing through my legs again.
A tingling feeling began spreading up my arm from the point of contact with the wall; moments later, my headache and blurry vision began to fade. I straightened up and glanced at my arm in confusion, bringing it into the light for inspection; the tingling had stopped, and nothing seemed any different about it. Maybe it was just my imagination?
I shrugged off the strangeness of it all and moved toward the end of the alley before I stepped out into the light.
I found myself in the middle of a sidewalk, people bustling buy and moving around me as if I was a rock in the river of humans. I looked around, trying to find any indication as to where I'd ended up. When I found my answer, I stared up at it in shock.
I was staring up at the Space Needle, which was adorned by a yellow-and-black flag – a flag with Delsin Rowe's yin-yang bird tag on it.
