Alex gently padded down the staircase that led to the Waverly Sub Station. Hitting on the bottom step of the metal staircase, a delicious sugary scent wafted to her nose, making the brunette frown.

Looking around, Alex found (much to her dismay) no sweets in sight. Maybe mom and dad hid it from her because she is so fond of sweets, but never gains any weight.

"Does anyone smell cinnamon rolls?" Alex asked.

"That would be me," Max proudly walked over to his sister, "I finally found the perfect scent that goes well with your comic book – cinnamon rolls! It's a sign of friendship."

Alex made a face before nodding and asking, "Well, what'd you do with them? Wipe them on yourself?"

Max's face contorted with disgust as he answered, "Come on, don't be so disgusting, Alex! I mean… they would leave such a sticky mess!"

Alex nodded, knowing her brother was telling the truth, but braced herself. If he didn't wipe cinnamon rolls on himself, it's not like he had cinnamon roll perfume! Please don't say that…

"I shoved 'em in my arm pits," Max unzipped his hoodie zipper and showed one of his arm pits with a cinnamon roll 'cutely' wedged in there.

Alex's face contorted into disgust as she gasped, "Oh! Ew!"

Max smirked as he zipped it up and then looked expectantly around the room, waving his hands slightly as he excitedly called out, "Who wants to be friends?"

Alex made a face but ruffled his hair in sisterly affection, taking this weird news a lot more mature then Justin would ever in a million years.

Justin padded down the stairs in a hurry and called out, "Guys, is the Jessica Moon costume ready?!"

Harper picked up the first costume off a table and showed the space outfit to Justin, who nodded his head in appreciation to the well-crafted costume.

"Wow… you did a good job, Harper! You even got the little… pupils right," Justin referred to the edge of the top portion of the costume.

Harper beamed, and swayed slightly in her bowling pin dress. Alex rolled her eyes; she knew that Harper loved getting any affection from Justin, even though she knew her nerdy brother would just never realize that Harper wanted to be more than just friends.

Justin, who had poised into deep thought suddenly pointed his finger to Max.

"All right, Max, get on in," Justin pointed at Max, then at the dress.

Max looked incredulously at his brother. He would rather get food poisoning than dress up as a girl! And he's pretty sure he looks nothing like the weird girl in the comic book, anyway!

When Justin started to stare Max down, Max begrudgingly made his way to the costume.

Harper's shock washed off, as she moved the costume out of his reach as she glared him down, "What? No! Take a hike!"

Although Max was silently thanking Harper from stopping him from wearing the ridiculous costume, he didn't like it that she tried to look tougher than him. And was it just him, or did he see challenge flicker in her eyes?

"Oh yeah? You know what, you take a hike!" Max puffed his chest out arrogantly. Wrong move.

"Oh yeah?" Harper makes a fighting stance, momentarily forgetting that her 'fighting weapon' in her hands was the costume.

The color drained out of Max's face as he completely lost his bravado. He made a run for the door, squealing little words of sorry and defeat as he rushed past the door of the Sub Shop.

Max honestly didn't know where he was going. But he thought if his sister and brother were busy trying to get Captain Jim Bob back in the comic book with their weird method, he might as well see if his cinnamon roll idea works.

"What seems to be the problem, young man?"

Max turned around to see a dude in a space astronaut suit, with a cracked helmet.

"Are you Captain Jim Bob Sherwood?" Max asked.

"Yes, yes I am," Jim Bob dreamily sighed.

"What are you doing out here in the streets of New York?" Max asked.

"There is so much crime in this city. I have to fix it all up," Jim Bob answered triumphantly.

"You do realize that my sister and brother are looking for you, right?" Max asked.

"How would you know that?" Jim Bob asked.

Max knew that either: he could spill the plan Alex and Justin have made to lure Jim Bob in so he can be in the comic again, or he could help them lure him back in.

"They got captured. You know, by this evil queen and mousy looking suit guy," Max said, remembered the costumes that were under the Jessica Moon costume.

"Archibald Van Cleef? Oh I should have known! But why should I come there?" Jim Bob asked.

"Those are my siblings and you are going to save them. And he has your girlfriend as well," Max answered.

"Then why are you roaming here, carefree?" Jim Bob asked.

"That's because I got kicked out of the Sub Station. Long story just go and get your girl! And my siblings outta there!"

Just then, his walkie talkie buzzed. Jim Bob took it out and Harper's voice sprang out.

"Help!" Harper squeaked, "I'm Jessica Moon and I need help!"

What the hell is Harper doing? Max internally panicked when he realized that Harper had decided to pose as Jessica. If Jim Bob knew how fake the voice is, he'll never go down there, knowing his girlfriend is safe!

"I'm on my way!" Jim Bob instructed clearly into the walkie talkie before running off.

"I could've just flashed him to the Sub Station…" Max thought but shrugged as he went in the same direction as he had come.

Max sighed as he thought he might as well go inside. He was at the park and nobody in their right mind would want to go to the park late at night. It must be nine-ish.

"I wonder if they did it," Max wondered, hoping that Alex and Justin successfully flashed Jim Bob back into the comic book.

"Wonder if who did what?" A girl's voice came from behind him.

Max turned around to see a girl about four inches shorter than him. Pale skin and curly brown hair, and cute little freckles. She had bright blue eyes and little dimples when she smiled toothily. Somehow Max thought her curly brown hair reminded him of the girlfriend he had for a short period of time after Justin humiliated him on his date. But he couldn't place his finger on the name of the girl.

"My name's Marianne. What're you doing out here?" Marianne tilted her head.

"Got kicked out of the Sub Shop by my siblings."

"Why?"

"Because I was trying to make friends. Apparently that is illegal in my house," Max scoffed.

"Why would they want to do such a horrible thing? I mean, you are… sweet," Marianne grinned weird when she smelt cinnamon rolls in the cold air. The cold sharp air accentuated the smell making it seem like a bakery shop was right next to them.

Max's cheeks flushed at her comment. Maybe his cinnamon rolls were working! He couldn't wait to rub the fact in Alex's face! Or gloat to Justin on how he has a girlfriend first.

"Why don't we get to know each other?" Max excitedly asked, hoping she would be good friends with him.

Marianne frowned. She hoped he would get her flirting but apparently, he didn't. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to get to know him after all.

"Okay. But what would you want to know?" Marianne asked.

Justin and Alex had flashed Captain Jim Bob Sherwood into the comic book. Justin wiped his brow as he turned around to smile at Alex.

"Wow. Whoo. We did it!" Justin grinned.

"Yep," Alex gently nudged him, "We worked together and got him back into the comic book."

Justin happily agreed, for once.

"You know, we could do this comic book thing," Alex gestured to the paperback book in her hand.

"Mmhmm," Justin agreed.

"Gosh," Alex tugged on her high wired collar of her evil queen dress, "I can now understand why evil queens are so evil, this thing is making me irritable!"

Harper looked around as the Russo siblings disappeared. They forgot to take the invisible chains off of her. She looked around. How bad could the blades be?

Moving a little bit to her right, there was excruciating pain as the chains came out. Harper flailed.

"The blades! The blades!"

Then she fell on the ground, writhing in pain.

"Harper what is this all about- OH MY GOSH!" Alex screamed as she came back in normal clothes.

"Alex, you got her left side, I got her right side. Flash us to your room. She's sleeping there," Justin commanded.

For once, Alex didn't argue, and she did exactly what Justin told her to do.

Five hours later, Justin and Alex had found Harper is okay (despite the fact she didn't heed Justin's warning).

"Hey Justin?" Alex yawned when they finally finished the comic book (just had to mail it).

"Yeah?"

"Where's Max?" Alex asked.

"Last time I saw him was when he ran out the door after being threatened by Harper, why?" Justin asked.

"Haven't seen him at all…" Alex's face drained of blood.

"What is that idiot doing?" Justin began to go up and down the staircase about possibly being labeled as ten thousand criminal names. Alex rolled her eyes and began to walk to the sub shop.

"Where are you going? We have a missing brother!"

"Well if you didn't freak out I could have told you that Max being Max has his wand with him. We can go to the Abracadoodler and punch in his wand's security code," Alex rolled his eyes.

"But we don't know it."

Alex put her hand on Justin's shoulder.

"If you have a sneaky sister like me, then we have no problem whatsoever."

Justin nodded in agreement with that. He never wanted to admit it, but he was very happy that Alex had her sneaky, conniving, cunning, clever, mysterious, weird, enigmatic ways of getting the answers she wanted.

After Alex had punched in Max's wand's security code, the Abracadoodler showed Max's wand getting closer and closer to the sub shop.

"Well, looks like he's not dead," Alex smirked as she shut off the Abracadoodler.

"Thank goodness. You know mom and dad would have our heads for just setting him free," Justin complained.

"What is he, a dog? He is our brother and although he is a bit slow, that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to come home," Alex rolled her eyes, "Plus you are forgetting they won't ground us as much as when we accidentally left Max on Mars."

"I got grounded as long as you were in the end," Justin shook his head at the 'terrible' memory.

"Oh grow up. That was your first time being grounded so it was heartbreaking," Alex rolled her eyes as she and Justin went back to the shop.

Justin held a finger to his lips as he saw Max and a mystery girl come in the sub shop.

"Bet he wanted to make me jealous!" Justin whisper-screamed. They hid in the kitchen of the sub shop.

"Hey, it was such a nice time knowing you. Hey would you like a sandwich? On the house of course," Max 'charmingly' offered to any girl he had ever dated.

"Oh no thanks. Why don't we just sit and talk at one of the tables here? If it's okay with you?" Marianne asked.

"Sure," Max smiled as the pair took a window seat with Marianne.

"She seems like a normal girl," Alex shrugged as she looked at the pair.

"Yeah but wizards don't date humans, it just isn't allowed," Justin reminded his sister sternly.

"What a kill joy," Alex murmured as she opened the pickle jar, scooped a huge pile into a paper container and started to eat.

"Out of all the times you could eat, you chose now?" Justin asked.

"Justin, it is twelve thirty and I should effing be in bed. I need a snack to stay awake," Alex snapped back, and to her relief Justin decided wisely to shut up.

The 'romance' between Max and Marianne must have been heating up. Marianne would twist her hair around her finger to create a 'shy girl' look that she would always imagine when a couple would get closer to each other.

"Why are you ignoring me?" Max interpreted her actions wrong.

"I'm not. I'm sitting next to you, aren't I?" Marianne sniffed the cinnamon roll scent in. So it was Max! She knew she could love a husband who always smelt like sweets.

"Yeah?" Max asked more than stated.

"Then why are you so shy?" Marianne asked him so incredulously.

"I never was. You looked shy, so I thought you were ignoring me," Max offered lamely as an excuse.

Marianne laughed, covering her snorts with her hand, somehow grossing Max out.

"Should we help him?" Justin asked.

"Max knows how to handle dumb girls. Watch," Alex smirked as she ate some pickles.

"Look, it was nice to know you, but I need to go up to my room and sleep. Hope to see you around sometime," Max started to get out of his seat.

"Don't you have a phone number?" Marianne asked.

"No. I don't want one," Max answered.

"Home phone?"

"Mom and dad are too lazy to get one."

"Email address?"

"I never check emails so I don't have one."

"Facebook? Twitter? MySpace? Instagram? Skype?"

"Social media accounts aren't my thing, Marianne."

Marianne pretended to look sad as she looked at her shoes. Then she realized this was Max's family's sub shop. She looked up.

"Will you be here tomorrow?" Marianne asked.

"I have school tomorrow."

"Won't you give me a good night kiss?"

"Why?"

"Because I won't get to see you in forever!" Marianne whined like a PMS-ing bitch.

"O-kay?" Max awkwardly leaned in. Marianne smirked as she wrapped her arms around him, firmly under his armpits and…

Squish!

Justin looked at Alex who was laughing her head off silently.

"Max had shoved cinnamon rolls under his arm pits in order to match our comic book scent or something," Alex explained.

"That is so gross," Justin shook his head.

"EWW! WHAT WAS THAT?" Marianne shrieked.

"Cinnamon rolls."

"WHY WOULD YOU SHOVE THEM UNDER YOUR ARMPITS?!"

"Sign of friendship?"

"I wanted to be your girlfriend, but now knowing that scent of cinnamon rolls were coming from your arm pits, I don't even want to have the 'honor' of being your acquaintance!" Marianne growled as she stormed out of the sub shop.

Max shrugged. He didn't know how to tell the girl that he didn't like her. But now, he was more interested in something else.

"Maybe Justin might know what the word 'acquaintance' means. Such long words girls tend to use."

-x-

A/N: And there you have it! Max's mini adventure on making friends with cinnamon rolls! And this is my take on it, because they didn't show Max's punch line in the episode with having a fiasco over the sweets he shoved in his armpits. I thought… it would be funny.
