Timmy Turner was always very open minded, but an entire town infested with ghosts was pushing the limits. When his parents had decided to take up 'ghost hunting' again, he asked Cosmo and Wanda to pose as ghosts so his parents could have their five minutes of fame. He hadn't actually wished up and ghosts. Now hearing about an entire town filled with actual ghosts, it made Timmy rather suspicious. The only way to really know is to ask Wanda, determined Timmy. So he walked up to his fish bowl but only found Cosmo. Timmy quickly decided that asking Cosmo was his best option at the moment and decided to ask him, "Hey Cosmo? Are ghosts real?"
Cosmo's eyes shot open, "Ghosts? Why would ghosts be real?" although the answer came a little to quickly. "I mean, maybe if some fairy god child had wished them up then it's a possibility. That would be really cool! Why don't you make cool wished like that?"
"I do, just not things that I don't fix right away," said Timmy, "To wish up ghosts and then not wish them gone when they became too much of a problem… it's reckless, and that's coming from Fairy Worlds #1 reckless godchild,"
"Timmy! Can you come down here for a second?" called Timmy's mom.
"I'll be back Cosmo, I have to go see what my mom wants," said Timmy, leaving his room and walking down the stairs. "What is it mom?"
"Sweetie, do you remember when your father and I took up ghost hunting?" she asked.
"Yeah, it was sort of a big deal," Timmy replied.
"Well it turns out my sister was more successful, location wise, for ghost hunting," she explained. "Have you ever heard of the Fenton's?"
"Yeah, aren't they those ghost hunters in that crazy town that's supposedly infested with ghosts?" wondered Timmy.
"Correct, well… my sister just happens to be Maddie Fenton. I forgot to tell you because she was always so busy obsessing over ghosts with her husband to ever come and visit, but I got a call last night and she wants us to come over and meet her family," she explained.
"So, I have an Aunt and Uncle and possibly cousins that I have never heard of in the ten years of my life," Timmy summed up.
"Correct," replied his mother.
"So, are we going to actually go?" he asked.
"Of course we are! It's been forever since I've seen my sister, and I want to see how grown up by niece and nephew are," she said.
"So when do we leave?" Timmy asked sighing.
"Tomorrow morning, so get backing!" his mom exclaimed happily.
Timmy sighed and headed back up to his room, he looked over to Cosmo and Wanda's fish bowl and saw that Wanda had indeed returned. He hurried over to the bowl and asked, "Hey Wanda, do you know if ghosts exist?"
Wanda looked up at her godchild and said "Maybe if someone wished it, but I don't remember anything about ghosts actually existing…"
"So Cosmo was right for once," stated Timmy, laughing to himself. "I wish I was packed to go to Amity Park tomorrow!" and before he knew it, there was a suitcase sitting by his door waiting for him to use it tomorrow.
"So is Amity Park the place that is supposedly infested with ghosts?" asked Wanda.
"Yep, apparently my mom's sister lives there and we were invited to come and visit… I can't imagine that dad is too happy about it though," replied Timmy.
"Well we better get to sleep," stated Wanda, "This is going to be an interesting trip,"
"It's going to be a normal family trip, the place is probably just feeding off of one big rumor," said Timmy
"All rumors start somewhere Timmy," said Wanda, swimming into her castle with Cosmo. Timmy sighed, Wanda was right about going to bed, Amity Park was rather far away and if he was cranky then it wouldn't be any fun. The young boy crawled into bed and quickly fell asleep.
"Danny! Can you come here for a minute?" called Maddie. Danny panicked, Sam was still treating one of the wounds Skulker had given him.
"In a sec mom, just let me finish this last thing!" he yelled down, as Sam finished patching up a cut on the side of his arm.
"There, all better… you go down and talk to your mom. Then you have to fly me home," said Sam.
"I'll be back up in a second," he said, walking out of his room and down to where his mother was. "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes, you see… I don't know if you and Jazz remember her but I have a sister and she's coming over in a few days to see us," said Maddie.
"Oh, I remember her!" said Jazz, "Auntie used to come over all the time, until Danny was four because she was pregnant and it was too much work for her to drive all the way from Dimmsdale to Amity all the time,"
"Oh… her? It's been years, I'm glad you got back in contact with her!" Danny said.
"Thanks kids, just be nice to your cousin Timmy. He's younger than both of you so unless he tries to hurt you, play nice" Maddie said,
"Sure mom," said Danny. "I take it he'll be sleeping in my room?" asked Danny.
"Yeah, I'm sorry sweetie but my sister and her husband are going to take up the guest room and I don't want anyone down in the lab," explained Maddie.
"Nah mom, it's fine. I'll just go start cleaning it up for him now," Danny said, causing his mother's face to light up.
"Thank you so much Danny! You go get started with your room," Maddie said happily. Danny nodded and walked up to his room where Sam was waiting.
"You ready to go home?" asked Danny,
"No," replied Sam.
"What? You said you wanted me to take you home," Danny said confused.
"I heard what you were talking about downstairs, and just… act normal around the kid. I'm going to help you tidy up your room. It's still a mess from the box ghost coming in and trying to steal all of your boxes," she said.
"Oh, wow… thanks Sam!" Danny said happily.
"What are friends for," Sam stated, which made Danny reply with a goofy grin. They spent the next two hours cleaning the room up until it was perfectly spotless.
"Wow, I didn't realize my room was that messy," stated Danny.
"Yeah," Sam said, obviously exhausted. "I think you can take me home now,"
Danny nodded and in a flash of light, Danny Phantom stood in Danny Fenton's place and he scooped Sam up, turning intangible and flying out of the room. After a few minutes of flying, Danny looked down and saw that Sam had fallen asleep in his arms. He smiled and slowly began descending on her house. He eventually ended up in Sam's room, laying her on the bed. Just in time apparently because Sam's mother walked in.
"Honestly Sammy-kinz, you mustn't sleep in something that could give you a cold. Especially if you aren't under your covers," Sam's mom Pamela muttered. Danny watched as Pamela took extra care not to wake her daughter up as she slowly removed the combat boots and placed bat slippers at the edge of the bed.
Danny decided that leaving before Pamela continued getting her daughter ready for bed was probably a very good idea, although… it warmed Danny' heart to see that Pamela cared for Sam that much. She didn't even wake Sam like most parents would have. Danny made it back to his room and collapsed onto his bed, turning back into Danny Fenton.
"Longest. Day. Ever." He sighed, laying down. Something was telling him that tomorrow was going to be even longer.
The last thing Timmy remembered was waking up and slowly carrying his stuff out to his car, Wanda and Cosmo disguised as his pillow and blanket for the car trip. "Timmy, wake up" came his mother's gentle voice.
"Why?" asked Timmy.
"We're going to be there in a few minutes," she replied,
"Oh… OH!" exclaimed Timmy, sitting up and rubbing the tired expression off of his face. He carefully picked up his Wanda pillow and sat it next to him. "How long was I asleep?"
"Twelve hours give or take," replied his mom.
"I didn't realize I was that tired," stated Timmy.
"I didn't know someone could get that tired," said Timmy's father. Timmy laughed and looked out the window. Only to see a cheesy sign that said,
Welcome to Amity Park
A safe place to live.
It was kind of ironic, considering the towns was supposedly infested with ghosts. As Timmy continued to look out the window he saw many signs that said
The proud home of Danny Phantom
With a weird simple the resembled a D with a P in the middle. "Who's Danny Phantom?" asked Timmy's dad.
"Danny Phantom is the supposed hero of the town. Maddie see's right through his façade though. Ghosts can't be good I mean... they're ghosts. They aren't supposed to be nice," replied Timmy's mom.
"They have a ghost hero? Cool!" exclaimed Timmy.
"Don't get too excited, no one really knows if he's good or bad. His track record indicates both," stated his mom.
"It sounds cool though," Timmy muttered.
"True," whispered Cosmo.
"Shut up Cosmo," Wanda whispered. Timmy rolled his eyes and looked out the window, they passed many buildings. Most looked like rather ordinary town houses with a few mansions here are there. Then he saw something odd, a house with a strange thing on top of it. Then his chance at having a somewhat normal relative vanished when he saw the sign attached to the strange building. Fenton Works.
"Look, dear! There it is," said Timmy's mom. (I'm just going to call her mom In Timmy's third person P.O.V)
"Well, it sure is easy to find," stated Timmy's dad. (I'm just going to call him dad in Timmy's third person P.O.V)
"No kidding," mumbled Timmy.
They drove up to the building and parked on the side of the road. Timmy slowly got out of the car while his parents unpacked the car. "Timmy, can you go knock on the door?" asked Mom.
"Sure," he replied, walking up the stairs. He knocked on the door and heard footsteps moving towards him.
The door opened quickly and he saw a slim woman in a blue jumpsuit open the door. She looked left and right and then down. "You must be Timmy!" she exclaimed happily. "I'm your Aunt Maddie,"
'Okay…' Timmy thought. 'I can add crazy lady in a jump suit to my family tree'
"Jack! Danny! Jazz! They're here!" yelled Maddie. Timmy saw a big tall overweight man, a girl with long orange hair, and a boy with black hair. They all introduced themselves when Timmy's parents made it to the door with the luggage. Timmy noticed how the black haired one, Danny, seemed like he would rather be somewhere else. It wasn't that he was bored. He seemed uncomfortable and anxious.
"Danny, take Timmy's stuff upstairs to your room," said Jack, Danny nodded and picked up the little suitcase.
He looked down at Timmy and said, "Nice fish," and then walked up the stairs with Timmy right behind him. They approached a door that said 'Danny's Room' and Danny said, "This is where you'll be staying..."
"Here?" asked Timmy, "Isn't this your room?"
"Well yeah, but there isn't enough room for you anywhere else. It's no problem," replied Danny, Timmy searched Danny's voice for deception but he found none. His older cousin really had no problem with them being in the same room.
"Thanks," said Timmy.
"No problem, you can put your fish over there if you want," he said, as he sat on one of the two beds that had been placed in the room. Then a cold chill went across the room and Danny froze. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom, just chill in here I guess..." Danny said quickly. Timmy looked at him funny but didn't ask any questions when Danny hurried out of the room.
"Guess he really had to use the bathroom," said Timmy,
"Timmy, just watch your wishing... if this family believes in ghosts. Then fairies wouldn't be too far of a stretch," said Wanda.
"I'll be careful Wanda, I know how to be care-" started Timmy, but he was cut off by a white haired boy being thrown into the room. Breaking the window in the process.
"You really shouldn't stand around windows in Amity Park, you never know when a ghost is going to come crashing through kid," said the white haired boy.
"Ghost? Ghosts aren't real," stated Timmy.
"If ghosts aren't real then how are you talking to one?" asked the white haired boy.
"Where is that whelp?" muttered a voice from outside.
"Maybe we can finish this conversation later, kid, I have a ghost to catch," the white haired boy said quickly, launching himself out of the window.
"Oh no," stated Timmy, "Danny's going to kill me,"
This is my first Danny Phantom fic, so I hope you enjoyed it...
