A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there lived a girl named Emma Skywalker. She was the older sister of Anakin Skywalker by 10 years , and she, along with her brother, were the chosen ones. They lived on the desert planet of Tatooine, along with their mother Shmi, as slaves. The thing is, neither Emma nor Anakin ever had a father. Emma hated her life as a slave, the only thing slightly enjoyable being the podracing and getting to hear pilots' stories. The Skywalkers once lived as slaves for Gardulla the Hutt, but were lost in a bet to Watto. Emma and Anakin both dreamed that one day, they would become Jedi Knights, and they would never have to work as slaves again. Little did they know, their dream was about to come true.

Qui Gon, Padme, Jar Jar, R2D2 Arrive on Tatooine

Qui Gon, Padme, Jar Jar, and R2D2 had just walked into the dealership when they were greeted by Watto.

"Good day to you, what do you want?" said Watto in Huttese.

The older man of the 4 stated "I need parts for a J-type 327 Nubian."Watto responded excitedly "Ah, yes! Nubian. We have lots of that." In Huttese he shouted over his shoulder "Boy! Girl! Get in here now!"

"My droid has readout of what I need."

As a young boy and girl walked in Watto exclaimed "What took you 2 so long?" in Huttese.

"We were cleaning the fan switches." the young girl replied exasperated. "Watch the store, I've got some selling to do." "So... let me take thee out back, huh? Ni you'll find what you need." claimed Watto while chuckling to himself.

Emma thought to herself 'Who are these people' as the man followed Watto while the Gungan started messing with stuff. Suddenly, Anakin asked the young girl "Are you an Angel?" "Ani! You can't go around asking people if they are angels!" "Well, sorry, but she is just so beautiful." "Yes, she is. I can't argue with you there."

"What?" asked the girl, clearly confused. "An angel. I heard the deep space pilots talk about them. They're the most beautiful creatures in the universe. They live on the moons of Iego, I think."

"You're a funny little boy. How do you know so much?"

Suddenly, Emma spoke up. "We listen to all the traders and star pilots who come through here." The little boy stated proudly "We're pilots, you know, and someday we are gonna fly away from this place."

"Yeah, if Watto ever frees us." Emma muttered under her breathe. "You 2 are pilots?" "Mm-hmm. All our lives." stated Ani with pride in his voice. "How long have you 2 been here?" asked Padme with curiosity. "Since we were very little. !2 for me, and 3 for him, I think. Our mom and us were sold to Gardulla the Hutt, but she lost us betting on the podraces." Emma stated sadly.

"You're slaves?" Padme stated, clearly shocked."No need to sound so shocked." Emma said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm a person and my name is Anakin!" stated the young boy defensively. "Ani, there is no need to be harsh, I'm sure she is just confused." said Emma while trying to calm her little brother. "I'm sorry, I don't fully understand this is a strange place to me." claimed the foreign girl.

The next thing they new, the Gungan started fumbling around with a robot that he accidentally activated, trying to catch it. "Hey!" shouted Emma. "What?" was the simple minded creatures reply. Anakin finished for her, "Hit the nose." And he did, causing the robot to shut down.

Ani and Emma were telling their new friend stories when the older man walked in. "Wouldn.t have lasted long anyways if we weren't so good at building things." "We're leaving. Jar Jar." "I'm gald to have met you Anakin, Emma." "We are glad to have met you, too!" the siblings announced in unison. And with that, the people who would change their lives walked out the door.

"Outlanders. They think we know nothing." groaned Watto. "They seamed nice to us." stated the youngersters. "Clean the racks. Then you can go home." Anakin shouted a "Yippee!" while his sister followed behind, smirking at her younger brother.

Emma and Ani were walking home when they saw the Gungan from earlier being choked by Sebulba. Approaching the Dug, Emma stated mockingly in Huttese "Careful, Sebubla. He's a big time outlander. "I'd hate to see you diced before we race again." Said Dug snarled "Next time we race girl, it will be the end of you. If you weren't a slave, I'd squash you and your brother now." Sarcastically, she replied "Yeah, it'd be a pity if you had to pay for us."

"Hi." said the young girl. "Hi there" was all that the older man stated. Piping up, Ani said " Your buddy here was about to be turned into orange goo. He picked a fight with a Dug." "Yeah, an especially dangerous Dug called Sebulba." chimed Emma.

The Gungan, obviously shaken, started yelling "Mesa haten crunchen. Das da las ting mesa want. In a wise tone, the man stated "Never the less, the boy and girl are right. You were heading into trouble. Thanks my young friends." 'I'm not that young.' 'I know Emma, you hate being called young.' 'Well yeah, i'm 19, you're 10' and the 2 Skywalkers followed after the travelers.

Reaching up trying to hand Qui Gon something, Anakin announced "Here, you'll like these pallies." "Thank You." stated said man, putting them into his tunic, allowing Emma and Ani a glimpse of his lightsaber.

The woman selling them the products chided "Oh my bones are aching. Storm's coming up Emma, Ani. You'd better get home quick."

Concerned, Emma asked "Do you have shelter?" "We'll head back to our ship." stated the man. "Is it far?" "It's on the outskirts." "You'll never reach the outskirts in time." stated Emma solemnly. Ani took that moment to add "Sandstorms are very, very, dangerous. Come on, we'll take you to our place." And with that, the to Skywalkers led them to their home.

"Mom! Mom, we're home." announced Anakin and Emma simultaneously. "These are our friends mom." Qui Gon introduced himself as Anakin excitedly told Padme "Emma and I are buidling a drios. You wanna see?"

"Your son and daughter were kind enough to offer us shelter." Qui Gon told Shmi respectfully. At That, Ani and Emma took Padme to see 3PO.

"Isn't he great?" Ani asked excitedly. Emma chimed in stating how "He wasn't finished yet." "He's wonderful!" complimented Padme.

"He's a protocol droid to help mom. Watch." and Ani turned C-3PO on.

"Oh. Oh. Uh- Where is everybody?" said the droid, as one eye was missing.

Realizing their mistake, Emma put in his other eye, as 3PO continued on with his introduction.

"He's perfect" claimed Padme, clearly impressed that 2 younglings could build a droid.

"When the storms over, I'll show you our racer. Emma and I are building a Podracer." claimed Ani. obviously excited.

Sitting at the table, the Skywalker family was explaining slavery to their guests.

Shmi- "All slaves have a transmitter placed inside their bodies somewhere."

Ani- "Emma and I have been working on a scanner to try and locate ours."

Shmi- "any attempt to escape..."

Ani and Emma- "And they blow you up! Boom!"

Emma- "I've actually seen it happen before."

Jar Jar, obviously disturbed, grimly sated "How wude!" Shocked, Padme incredulously said "I can't believe there is still slavery in the galaxy. The Republic's anti-slavery laws..." "The Republic doesn't exist out here. We must learn to survive on our own." Emma said in a solemn manner.

Attempting to change the subject, Ani said "Has anybody ever seen a Podrace?" "They have Podracing on Malastare. Very fast, very dangerous." replied Qui Gon. Ani, excited someone answered, said "Emma and I are the only humans who can do it." "But I'm better." said the girl proudly. "True" Ani admitted.

"You must have Jedi reflexes if you race pods, both of you." As Jar Jar went to reach for more food with his tongue, Qui Gon grabbed it with, what do you know, Jedi reflexes, telling the poor Gungan not to do it again.

Finally figuring it out, the young Skywalkers said in unison, "You're a Jedi Knight, aren't you?" "Now what makes you say that?" inquired the Jedi. "I saw your lasersword. Only Jedi carry those." sated Ani matter-of-factly. "Well, maybe I killed a Jedi and took it from him." said Qui Gon. "I don't think so. No One can kill a Jedi." said Ani. "Ani, no one is invincible, no matter how powerful they are." said Emma seriously. Qui Gon sighed, "Ah, I wish that were so Ani."

"Emma and I had dreams we were Jedi. We came back and freed all the slaves here. Have you come to free us?" he asked hopefully. "No, I'm afraid not." Qui Gon said sadly. "I think you have. Why else would you be here?" Ani stated confidently. Unfortunately, Emma knew better, and knew that that was not why the Jedi was here, having lost hope in that years ago.

"I can see there is no fooling you or your sister Anakin. We're on our way to Coruscant, the central system in the Republic, on a very important mission." Emma, slightly puzzled, inquired "How did you end up out here in the outer rim?" Padme solemnly stated "Our ship was damaged and we're stranded here until we can repair it."

"We can help. Emma and I can fix anything." Ani claimed hopefully. "I believe you 2 can. But first we must acquire the parts we need." Said Qui Gon, amused. "Wit no-nutten mula to trade." "These junk dealers must have a weakness of some kind." Padme said wistfully.

"Gambling. Everything here revolves around betting on those awful races." Shmi said, clearly disgusted. "Podracing. Greed can be a powerful ally." "We built a racer. Its the fastest ever. There's a big race tomorrow on Boonta Eve. You could enter our pod." "Anakin! Watto won't let you and Emma.

This time Emma spoke up. "Watto doesn't know we've built it. You could make him think it was yours and get him to let me or Ani pilot it for you." "I don't want either of you to race. It's awful. I die every time Watto makes you or Ani do it." Shmi said in a motherly tone. "But mom we love it!" the 2 stated at the same time. Ani, trying to help Emma, said "The prize money would more than pay for the parts they need." Shmi sighed, "Anakin, Emma."

"Your mother's right." Qui Gon stated. "Is there anyone friendly to the Republic who can help us?" he asked Shmi. Shaking her head, she dejectedly said no. Emma, finally reaching a breaking point, calmly said "Mom, you say the biggest problem in this universe is nobody helps each other." Padme sadly says "I'm sure Qui Gon doesn't want to put either of your children in danger. We'll find some other way." Shmi, finally giving in, says "No. There is no other way. I may not like it, but they can help you. They were meant to help you." "But since I am the better racer and i don't want you getting hurt Ani, I am going to race." said Emma. After a couple minutes of arguing, Ani finally agreed to allow his sister to race instead of him.

Time Lapse

As Qui Gon enters the shop, Watto says "So, the boy and girl tells me you want to sponsor them in the race. How can you do this? Not on the Republic credits, I think, huh?" "My ship will be the entry fee." "Oh, not bad! Not bad, huh? A Nubian, huh?" It's in good order, except for the parts I need." "What will the girl ride? The boy smashed uo my pod in the last race. It will take some long time to fix it."

Defensively, Emma said "It wasn't his fault, really. Sebulba flashed him with his vents." "I actually saved the pod, mostly." Anakin cried. Watto, admittedly, said "Mmm. That you did, huh." while chuckling. "The children are good. No doubts there, huh?"

'Grrrrrr. I hate it when he calls me kid!' 'Yeah, well, so do I!' 'It's not the same Ani, because you are a kid.' 'Whatever Emma.'

Qui Gon confidently states "I have acquired a pod in a game of chance, the fastest ever built." "I hope you didn't kill anyone I know for it, huh? So, you supply the pod and the entry fee, and i supply the girl and her brother. We split the winnings, um, 50-50, I think, huh?" "If it's going to be 50-50, I suggest you front the cash for the entry. If we win, you keep all the winnings minus the cost of the parts I need. And if we lose you keep my ship. Either way, you win." "Hmmmmmm. Deal!" Watto replied greedily. Behind them, you could see Emma and Ani smirking to themselves."Your friend is a foolish one, me thinks." Watto said to the boy and girl smugly.

Time Skip

Qui Gon stated as Shmi approached him "You should be very proud of your son and daughter. They give without any thought of reward." "Well, they know nothing of greed. They have a..." "They have special powers." "Yes." They can see things before they happen. That's why they appear to have such quick reflexes. It's a Jedi trait." "They deserve better than a slave's life." "Why certainly. Had they been born in the Republic, we would have identified them early. The Fore is unusually strong with them. That much is clear. Who was their father?" "There was no father. I carried them, I gave birth, I raised them. I can't explain what happened. Can you help them?" "I don't know. I didn't actually come here to free slaves."

A bunch of kids around Ani's age made their way towards Emma and him, shouting things like "Hey" and "Hey Ani." One of his friends, when noticing R2-D2, said "Wow, a real astro droid. How did you get so lucky?" Ani's reply was "That isn't the half of it. Emma is in the Boonta race tomorrow and I am helping her." "What? With this?" A young alien also said "You're such a joker, Ani." Another said "You 2 have been working on that thing for years." While a young girl said "It's never gonna run." At that, Emma walked over to the younglings, and threatened "You wanna say those things to my face?" "Come on. Let's go play ball." one said and the rest followed, obviously scared, as Emma did have a reputation in Mos Espa.

Once all the children ran off, Emma shouted "Hey Jar Jar. Keep away from those energy binders. If your hand gets caught in the beam, it's gonna go numb for hours." And right as she said that, he dropped the wrench and got his tongue stuck in it. And as he went to reach for the wrench he dropped, he got his hand stuck in the engine. He started shouting "Uh, Ani, I'm stuck. Emma..."

Kitster, meanwhile had been talking to Ani, saying "You don't even know if this thing is gonna run." "It will." Ani said as Emma began climbing into the pod. Qui Gon then said "I think it's time we found out. Here, use this power charge." "Yes sir!" Emma said sarcastically when he handed it to her.

Back to Jar Jar, he kept yelling "Uh, my mouth. Ani, Emma, I'm stuck." until Padme walked over and helped him, which he was grateful for, as Emma was just about to start up the Podracer.

She turned on the engine, and you could the hear the hum of them starting up. She shouted in glee as it rose off the ground "It's working! It's working!" with everyone staring in amazement.

Later That Night

Qui Gon was cleaning Ani and Emma's cuts that they got while working on the pod. "Stay still, you 2. Let me clean these cuts." There's so many." stated Ani in amazement while looking at the stars. Emma, also staring at the stars in awe, said "Do they all have a system of planets?" "Most of them." said Qui Gon, chuckling at how the 2 were behaving. "Has anyone been to 'em all?" Emma asked, knowing what Ani was going to say next. "Not likely" Qui Gon said while chuckling. "Emma and I are gonna be the first ones to see 'em all." Ani said confidently.

As Shmi called to Ani and Emma that it was bedtime, they both shouted "Ow" as Qui Gon answered to why he had taken some of there blood with "I am checking both of your blood for infection. Go on. you 2 have a big day tomorrow."

Qui Gon got on his com link saying "Obi-Wan?" The reply was a formal "Yes, Master?" "I need an analysis of these blood samples I'm sending you." "Wait a minute." "I need a midi-chlorian count." "The readings are off the chart. Over 20,000. For both. Even Master Yoda doesn't have a midi-chlorian count that high." "No Jedi has, let alone 2." "What does that mean?" "I'm not sure." Qui Gon then looked over to see that Shmi was watching him and she walked away.

Time Skip

It was the day of the Boonta race, and Qui Gon was walking up to Watto. Watto told the Jedi "I wanna see your spaceship the moment the race is over." Qui GOn merely replied "Patience, my blue friend. You'll have your winnings before the suns set. And We'll be far away form here." "Not if your ship belongs to me, I think, huh? Haha. I warn you, no funny business." "You don't think Emma can win?" "Don't get me wrong, no, I have great faith in the girl and her brother. He's a credit to your race. But, uh, Sebulba there is going to win, I think." "Why do you think that?" "He always wins!" Watto said while laughing. "I'm betting heavily on Sebulba." "I'll take that bet." "You What?" "I'll Wager my new racing pod against, say, the girl, her brother, and their mother." "No pod is worth 3 Slaves, not by a long shot." "The girl and her brother, then." "Hmm. Well, uh... We'll let fate decide, huh? I just happen to have a chance cube here. Blue, it's the girl and the boy. Red, uh... their mother.

When Watto rolled the cube, he was so busy watching it that he didn't notice Qui Gon moving his hand, using the force to will the cube to land on blue. Angrily, he shouted "You may have won this small toss, outlander, but you won't win the race! So it makes little difference!" And with that he flew away towards Ani and Emma. As he approached them he said with a smug look on his face, "Better stop your friend's betting, or I'll end up owning him, too." and he flew away.

Emma shouted to Qui Gon "What'd he mean by that?" but he merely said "I'll tell you later." As Ani, Emma, and Kitster were walking, Kitster said "This is so wizard Ani and Emma. I'm sure you'll do it this time." Padme, confused, said "Do what?" and Kitster nonchalantly said "Finish the race, of course." "Neither of you have ever won a race?" she asked Emma and Ani. The latter embarrassingly replied "Well, not exactly." "Not even finished?" At that Emma chimed in, "I have, but I always end up in second place." she said with a disgruntled look on her face. Ani, on the other hand said "Kitster's right. We'll win this time." Qui Gon then showed up behind them and said "Of course you will." while putting a had on Emma and Ani's shoulders. He looked over at Padme who had an aggravated look on her face.

At The Race

One of the announcers of the podrace said over the speaker "And a big turnout here form all corners of the outer rim territories. I see the contestants are making their way out onto the starting grid. I see Ben Quadinaros form the Tund System. Two-time winner Boles Roor. Sebulba. And in the front row, nearside pole position, Mawhonic! A hearty hello to Clegg Hold fast and his Voltec KT9 Wasp! and back again, it's the mighty Dud Bolt with that incredible racing machine, the Vulptereen 327. And hoping for a big win today, Ody Mandrell, with his record-setting pit droid team. And a late entry, young Emma Skywalker, a local girl. I see the flags are moving out onto the track."

Shmi and Ani walked over to Emma and Shmi, being her mother, said "Be safe." She in turn said "I will, Mom. I promise." Next, Ani said "Kick their buts for me, will ya?" She smirked down at her little brother and simply said "Oh. You know I will." He too then headed up to the stands. Meanwhile Sebulba had gone over to her pod and sabotaged it. He went over to Emma and said in Huttese "You won't walk away from this one, you slave scum." Her only reply was "Don't count on it, slime ball." "You're bantha fodder!" and he walked away.

Qui Gon then came over and said "You all set, Emma?" "Yep." "Right." And he then lifted her up and into the pod, earning a sarcastic "Whoa! Aren't I a little old for that, and you too?" "Remember, concentrate on the moment. Feel, don't think. Use your instincts." "I will." "Amy the Force be with you." And with that, he handed her the helmet and walked away.

Then, one of the announcers introduced Jabba the Hutt, who said in Huttese "Welcome. Begin the race!" The racers started up their engines, and one of the announcers said "Hey, it looks like they're clearing the gird. As Qui Gon and Jar Jar returing to the stands, Shmi asked "Is she alright?" "She's fine." Padme then said "You Jedi are far too reckless. The queen is not-" "The queen trusts my judgement, young handmaiden. You should too." "You assume too much."

"Start your engines." Emma powered up her pod, and got ready to go. And at the bang of the gong, the race began.

Author's note: I will not be writing out what happens in the race, as everything would be the same, except Emma would be racing instead of Ani. So just imagine the whole race with a nineteen year old blond haired, blue eyed, girl instead of Anakin.

"The crowds are going nuts! Oh! Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh! Ah!" Emma And Ani were lifted onto the crowds shoulders as they cheered. "Mom, We did it! Yeah!"

As they entered the prep room, Jar Jar said "Good going Emma!" Padme then hugged Ani and Emma and said "We owe you 2 everything." Shmi then proceeded to kiss her children's cheeks, earning a number of complaints from them. "It's so wonderful, Ani, Emma. You 2 have brought hope to those who have none. I'm so very proud of you."

Time Skip

Obi-Wan was approaching Qui Gon, with the latter saying "Well, we have all the essential parts we need. I'm going back. Some unfinished business. I won't be long." The Young Padawan said "Why do i dense we've picked up another pathetic life form?" It's the boy and the girl who's responsible for getting us these parts. Get this hyperdrive generator installed." "Yes Master. This shouldn't take long." At that, Qui Gon headed off.

Back at Mos Espa, Qui Gon, Emma, and Ani had just returned for selling the pod when Qui Gon said to Ani and Emma "Hey. These are yours." and handed Ani a bag of coins. The young boy and his sister shouted "Yes!" and walked into their home. Emma shouted "Mom, we sold the pod! Look at all the money we have!" "My goodness! But that's so wonderful, you 2!" Qui Gon chose that moment to say "And they have been freed. Emma and Ani shouted "What?" in unison. "You 2 are no longer slaves." "Did you hear that?'" "Now you can make your dreams come true, Ani, Emma. You are free. Will you take them with you? Are they to become Jedi?" "Yes. Our meeting was not a coincidence. Nothing happens by accident."

"You mean we get to come with you in your starship?" "Anakin, Emma, training to become a Jedi is not an easy challenge, and even if you do succeed, it's a hard life." "But I wanna go. It's what I've always dreamed of doing. Can I go, Mom?" "Anakin, Emma, this path has been placed before you 2. The choice is yours alone." Anakin then said "I wanna do it." Qui Gon nodded his head and said "And you, Emma?" She looked back at her mom, knowing that she would have to leave her behind if she did go, and took a moment before saying "With all my heart." Qui Gon smiled at the 2 and said "Then pack your things. We haven't much time." Anakin shouted a "Yippee!" as he and Emma went to pack their things. Stopping for a second, Anakin turned back and said "What about Mom? Is she free too?" Qui Gon looked at Shmi and said "I tried to free your mother Ani but Watto wouldn't have it." Walking towards her, Ani said "You're coming with us aren't you, Mom?" Emma walked towards her mother along with Ani, as her mother took her 2 children and said "Children, my place is here. My future is here. It is time for you too let go." Ani shook his head and said "I don't want things to change." Emma knew what her mother was going to say so she said "But you can't stop the change, anymore than you can stop the suns from setting." Shmi look at her Son and Daughter and said "Oh, I love you." and embraced them in a hug. "Now, hurry." she said as the 2 went back to packing.

Emma, Qui Gon, and Ani were leaving when the 2 children stopped, and suddenly ran back to their mother. "I can't do it mom. I just can't do it." cried Ani. "Ani." she crooned. Emma then said teary eyed, "Will we ever see you again?" Shmi looked back at her daughter and asked her "What does your heart tell you?" Answering at the same time, Ani and Emma said "I hope so. Yes, I guess." Then we will see each other again." The 2 young Skywalkers looked at each other and said "We will come back and free you, Mom. We promise." Shmi smiled at her kids and said to them "Now, be brave, and don't look back. Don't look back." And with that, she sent her children off.

Qui Gon and Emma were running to the ship while Emma was carrying Ani when Qui Gon yelled "Emma, duck!" They ducked just as an air bike flew over top of them, and a hooded figure jumped off, activating his red lightsaber, and Qui Gon activating his. "Go" he shouted "Tell them to take off!" The 2 ran onto the ship and the Jedi and the Sith dueled.

Captain Panaka entered the control room with Padme, Anakin, and Emma and said "Qui Gon's in trouble. Obi-Wan looked over to the pilot and said "Take off. Over there, Fly low." At the last second, Qui Gon Force leaped through the air and boarded the ship. "Are you all right?" asked Emma as she, Ani, and Obi-Wan rushed towards Qui Gon. "I think so." Obi-Wan then asked "What was it?" I'm not sure, but it was well trained in the Jedi arts. My guess is, it was after the queen." The, it was Ani's turn to aski "What are we going to do about it?" earning a glance from Obi-Wan. Qui Gon sighed and said "We will be patient. anakin Skywalker, Emma Skywalker, meet Obi-Wan Kenobi. Anakin was first to shake hands with him, saying "Hi. You're a Jedi too? Pleased to meet you." shaking his hand more ferociously. Then was Emma. But when she took his hand, she felt a feeling of warmth run through her, something she had never felt before. Slowing shaking his hand, she said "Hello, I'm Emma.", a very formal greeting. He in turn simply said "Obi-Wan" as he too had experienced that feeling? The same question was running through their minds: What the hell just happened.

Okay, so here is the first chapter of Another Skywalker. Give reviews, compliments and constructive criticism is appreciated, but no flat out rude ones. Sorry if this is slightly long, i wanted to get as much in as possible. I apologize if the dialog is slightly boring, I wrote this late at night. But yeah, the next chapter will be up as soon as possible.
