Summary: Something has gone missing that proves Jane and Maura are together. Rizzles. One Shot.

Disclaimer: I don't own Jane Rizzoli, Maura Isles, Angela Rizzoli or anything associated with Rizzoli & Isles; they are property of Tess Gerritsen and TNT.

A/N: I can't remember where I heard this story before but I wanted to give it a Rizzles twist. It's short and sweet. All mistakes are mine. Enjoy.

Maura gently sat the last of her plates down as the front door slammed shut. She threw a weak glare at the doorway and then turned back toward the cupboards resting her face in the palm of her hand, her mouth fixed in a small frown. She had heard Jane walk in but her mind was somewhere else; her internal catalog. She had everything but one item and she'd be damned if she didn't find it.

Maura looked at the cupboards as if they were a piece of art and she was trying to discern it's meaning, well, that was how Jane thought Maura looked anyway. After Jane had accidentally slammed the door she walked in with an apology on her lips but the sight before her left her speechless. Strewn about the kitchen were pots, pans, and plates of all kinds. There was not an inch of counter top left.

Jane's mouth opened and closed with silent questions before she finally gave up with a shrug and headed for the fridge. With a flick of her wrist she opened her beer and brought it to her mouth but before the chilled liquid could reach her mouth she heard Maura's curious voice, "Did you borrow my platter?"

With a sigh that would put a five year old to shame Jane halfheartedly removed the beer from her lips, "No."

"Hmm," Maura, completely ignoring Jane's usual childish antics, looked around the kitchen then back up at the cupboards again.

Even with the unusual behavior Jane watched Maura with a smile, "You're looking for a platter?"

Maura jerked out of her thought process and looked at Jane, "Yes, a platter. It's part of a set actually but the platter is the only one missing."

"Maybe Ma borrowed it?" Jane suggested.

As if Angela heard her name she walked into the door and smiled, "Good evening girls!"

"Great timing Ma! Maura has something to ask you," Jane said as she quickly ducked to have a drink. A small smile twitched at the corner of Maura's lips before she faced Angela, "Ah, yes, did you happen to borrow my platter?'

Angela looked from Maura to Jane, who had now returned and was standing beside Maura and smiled but that smile soon turned into full-fledged laughter.

Jane curiously stepped forward, "What's so funny Ma?"

"It's just-" Angela tried to get out but could quite stop herself from laughing, "Let me start from the beginning."

Jane and Maura watched at waited for her to continue.

Angela smoothed out invisible wrinkles from her shirt and set a serious expression as she began, "I've always wanted you to be happy Jane and when Maura joined our family I knew she made you happy.-"

Jane knew where this was going and she did not want to have this conversation, not yet, "Ma we're not-"

Angela quickly held up a finger, she knew her daughter, and she needed to get this over with, "Let me finish, I knew you made each other happy and that is all a mother could ever ask for. As for how the platter fits into this, well, I hid that in the guest bedroom a few weeks back. If you slept in the guest bedroom like you say you do then you would have found it. I guess I know where you sleep," Angela finished her explanation with a wink.

Maura had the decency to blush as Jane halfheartedly yelled, "Ma!"

A/N 2: Well, that's all folks! It's been a beat since I've written anything and I hope I'm alright, even if it's a pretty short one shot. Thanks for reading!
