Draco remembered the girl in his memories.

The strong, stubborn, and confident girl.

The way her face sparkled as she talked.

The way her eyes told him everything.

The way her smile invited him in.

The way she walked with purpose.

The way she stole his heart.

And as he looked at the girl now, he tried to recall the times before it happened. Before the War. He walked over to her bed carefully trying not to scare her. He saw her rolled up in a ball covered in her blanket. He closed his eyes shut trying to go back to before.

Before she was afraid to look up.

Before she was afraid to speak.

Before her eyes became vacant.

Before her smile was gone.

And before she was afraid to leave her room.

He saw her lift up her head and at his arrival.

"I dreamt it again," she whispered, her voice laced with terror.

"It's okay," he whispered as he made his way to hug her. Her shoulders tensed up at his touch.

"It's scary," she whispered. Her wide bambi eyes stared straight into his grey ones. "Stay with me?"

"Of course I'll stay, Pansy."
