He took in his surrounding. Dirt below and around him, the wooden bars above him. He could see the sunlight shine through the thick leaves of the trees around the area, the echo of a shout from some animal that he hoped was a very horrid sounding bird. Testing his bonds again, and failing to make it budge, he sighed at how futile the attempt was. How many days, or even months have past since he was thrown into this jungle? Into this hole? He felt his sanity slip, physically felt it, and he knew it was only a matter of small amount of time before it shattered into oblivion.
Logan curled in on himself, resting his forehead on his knees and wishing badly that he was able to wrap his arms around his legs, but he would have to settle with this. Closing his eyes, he thought back to the last memory of his time with his brother, Hesh, on the sandy beach as they watched the long awaited end of the battle they had to suffer through.
"We did good, Logan. You did good." Hesh turned his head and grinned at his younger brother, pride clearly showing. "You're a hero, little bro."
Logan shook his head slightly with a smile, then proceeded to point to himself and Hesh. He wasn't going to take all the credit for what happened, as he had great help from his brother. As a responce, he was gifted with Hesh's lighthearted laughter. It's been so long since he heard such a carefree sound.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. We do make one heck of a team, don't we?" Hesh turned his head to stare at the sea, green eyes distant. "Dad...dad would've been proud...He'll rest in peace now." he glanced back at his silent sibling, chuckling at the eyeroll he got. "I know, I know. Shut up. You're ruining the moment, Logan."
And then Rorke showed up and took took him away from his only family. Logan can remember the horrified look on his brother's face. Each time Hesh called out his name, he wanted to do the same. But the shock that took over his mind and the fact that he never really talked in many years (he barely remembered the age when he decided not to talk. He was only seven, and his mother had passed), aside from when he had to during the time in the army, left him unable to shout out his brother's name.
He tilted his head back, staring at the sky (weren't the trees hiding it from him earlier? Why were there less plant life? When did it turn so dark?) with sad brown eyes. Tears began to slowly slide down his cheek, later followed by quiet sobs. "Hesh..." his voice came out raspy from disuse, and he had to swallow some spit because his throat was so dry.
Insects flew around him. He heard distant shouting, screaming, cries for help, explosions. His mind was crumbling. Bit by bit. He could feel it. He didn't like it, but he could just feel it shatter. Moving his body in jerky movements, he did his best to stand up, but instead of succeeding he only fell to his knees.
"Hesh!" he shouted "Hesh, get me out of here! HESH! DAD! SOMEBODY! GET ME OUT OF HERE! HESH! HELP ME! Help me..." his body was shaking, and the tears continued to fall as if a dam had broken. "Please..." he begged, hoping (praying) that someone, or something, would hear him. He just wanted to see his brother again. Just wanted to tell him that he loved him. That they would always be together until the very end ( It was at their mother's funeral. Both promised to eachother, and to their mother's grave, that they would always take care of oneanother).
"I just want to go home..."
Well, uh, greetings and salutations. I hope you liked this little fic. It was either this, or I tried something out with Roach and Ghost before they got killed. Also, I forgot if Logan still had his mask on at the end, so let's go with he didn't. If he did, please tell me.
Anyway, please leave a comment! Good or bad, I don't care. But if you've read this far, at leave something for me. Please. Even a simple Hi would do.
Good day! :D
