"Mako-chan you should really try it, it's so much better for you!"

Mako glanced in confusion at Rei as she began another of her attempts to persuade her to drink tea instead of coffee. "But… I need the energy…" She realised it was useless and forced her features into their default Rei-lecture look. How long had they known each other? It couldn't be that long but she already had several default facial expressions for Rei.

"When I was living in England I had to drink so much tea… It tasted gross at the beginning but I grew to like it! If you need lots of energy though Makoto-chan, coffee is definitely the way to go!" Minako winked at her new friends as she pushed a strawberry shortcake out of the way and reached for her Coca-Cola. "I know I need all the sugar and caffeine I can get!"

"Don't listen to her Mako-chan!"

Well, if Rei was daring to contradict one of her idols, the legend that was Sailor V, Mako should probably pay her passionate speech a bit more attention. Mako did drink tea, more than Rei would guess, but she really did need the caffeine. The youma they had faced last night had been stronger than they had anticipated and the fact that she had ended up wrestling it to the ground in a headlock so Sailor Moon could get a clear shot had taken its toll on her. She had Minako to back her up though, just in case she needed to put an end to the 'discussion'. They had only just met the blonde senshi, in fact this was the first time she had been to the café with them, but Mako had already decided she was pretty level-headed. The fact that she had fought the Dark Kingdom alone for so long spoke volumes. Minako Aino was definitely someone you could rely on…

Ami had had automatically pulled out a textbook for her German class the next day as soon as Mako had ordered, knowing how a detailed explanation of the benefits of drinking tea rather than coffee could go on for a while. As she reviewed some of the more complicated 'Nebensätze' she noticed something moving out of the corner of her eye and peered over the top of the book to see Usagi, mouth open, slowly leaning towards the piece of cake Rei was waving around on her fork. Rei, not noticing the threat to her dessert, carried on as Usagi inched closer and closer. Ami looked on in horror, unable to decide whether she should warn Rei and risk a hungry Usagi's despair or stay silent and wait for the inevitable argument to ensue…

Usagi grinned as she closed in on Rei's lemon tart. She loved being at the café with her girls, especially when there was a chance to steal some of Rei's cake and at the moment Rei was too involved in talking to Mako and Minako to notice until it was safely in her stomach. Usagi knew she would be forgiven after a little while and a bit of shouting. They were friends after all!
