Hey guys, Flipkicks here and today I bring you is a new chapter for "The Reaper of Beacon", thank you for checking out the story and what you all thought of the previous chapter. Sorry for not updating as much since I have been on a writer's block, trying to add new scenes within Volume 2 and going into Volume 3, even though the series is going to Volume 5 I believe.

The Bond of a Mother and Son

Beacon Academy,
10:00 P.M.

"Your mom will probably kill us." Blake jokes about it as Ichigo stops his motorcycle at the parking lot.

"Probably but I think we'll be okay." He waves it off jokingly as the two get off the bike, "Hopefully she doesn't know..."

"Doesn't know what?" They both stop what they were doing as they turned their heads and see Miss Goodwitch waiting for them and she is fuming at the sight of her students and more importantly, her godson coming into the academy beyond their normal curfew. "Miss Belladonna, you're excused but Ichigo." She pulls him by the ear, "You are in serious trouble young man!"

Blake sweatdrops at the sight of their teacher being a mother and feels sorta bad for Ichigo's current situation.

"Ah...see you later Ichigo." She quickly leaves the scene, leaving the godmother and her godson by themselves.

"Come on Mom, I can OW!" She pulls his ear harder.

"You already know you're in a bad situation Ichigo but now isn't the time for your excuses." She then yanks Ichigo off into the academy.

Years Ago

"Ichigo, it's time to wake up." A voice said, rousing now nine-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki from his sleep.

"5 more minutes mom." He said, rolling back onto his pillow. Glynda Goodwitch smirked, as she knew what would get him out of bed quickly.

"Are you sure? After all, today IS a special day, Mr. 9-year old." She said and suppressed a giggle as Ichigo sat straight up, the sleep completely gone from his eyes.

"Really? It's here already?" He said, and she nodded.

"Happy birthday Ichigo." She said, wrapping him in a hug. Even though she wasn't his birth mother, she loved him as if he were her flesh and blood. "I hope your excited for the party this afternoon." She said, and Ichigo nodded as he got out of bed.

"You bet I am!" He said, stretching his legs as he walked to the kitchen, where a fresh plate of pancakes was calling his name.

'Ichigo.' Wait, did the pancakes just call his name? He might be a kid, but that didn't mean he believed food could talk.

"Did you say, something mom?" He asked, and Glynda looked at him in confusion.

"No. Why?" She asked.

"Never mind. I guess I'm still in dreamworld a little." He said, quickly dismissing the voice.

Later that day.

Ichigo was wiped. His birthday party had been a lot of fun, with games like Pin the Tail on the Beowolf and Hunters and Grimm, and he had gotten a lot of gifts too. But throughout the day, he'd had headaches at random moments. They went away quickly though, so he didn't te his mom about them."Ichigo, it's time for bed." Glynda said.

"But mom, I'm not even tired yet." He said, and promptly yawned, defeating his point.

"Yeah, and I'm the Queen of Vale," Glynda said. "Doesn't change the fact that it's past your bedtime." She said. "Now brush your teeth and get ready for bed." She said, and Ichigo complied. Soon enough, Ichigo was asleep in bed, quickly collapsing into Morpheus's sweet embrace.

He found himself sitting on the side of a skyscraper. "Whoa!" He said, and expected to fall, but to his surprise, he stayed in place. Sitting up, he found that the skyscraper was sideways. "I've never had a dream like this before." He said.

"This is no dream." A voice said behind him, and Ichigo turned to see a man in a long brown coat with brown hair and a goatee on his face.

"Who are you? Why is everything all sideways?" Ichigo asked.

"My name is Zangetsu, Ichigo, and this is your inner world." The man said.

"My inner world? What's that?" The boy raises an eyebrow, still confused as to why he's here.

"Your inner world is the manifestation of your soul, and it changes depending on your mood. For example, when you're sad or depressed, it begins to rain, and when you are happy or excited, the sun becomes blindingly bright." Zangetsu explained, pointing

"Why am I here?" Ichigo asked, still a little confused about who this man was.

"Because it is time for you to awaken your full potential," Zangetsu said. "The potential to be one of the strongest warriors this planet has ever seen." Now Ichigo was even more confused. He had just turned nine for Dust's sakes, he wasn't any ultimate warrior or something.

"How are you going to do that?" Ichigo asked.

"Ask your mother about me. She will set you on the correct path, and I will give you training." Zangetsu said.

"Why should I listen to you? My mom said never to trust strangers, even if they seem nice." Ichigo said, causing the old man to chuckle.

"Ichigo, I am no stranger to you. I have been with you your entire life, watching as you grew up." Zangetsu said. "Now, it is time to awaken. Your mother is calling you." Zangetsu said, and watched as Ichigo disappeared from the world.

"Ichigo, wake up. I want to be sure that you're up and fed before I have to leave for work." Glynda called. Ichigo rubbed the sleep from his eyes and got out of bed, walking to the kitchen.

"Hey mom, have you heard the name Zangetsu?" He asks her since it's on his mind now.

"Zangetsu..." She then recalls her godson's heritage from his father, "Slaying Moon. Wait one minute." She then heads out of his room and proceeds to find a book that his family had left her once he had awakened his potential. She then returns to his room and opens up the book and proceeds to go to the 'Z' section, "Zangetsu, Slaying Moon. Your Zanpakuto."

"Zanpakuto?"

"You know that you're a special boy Ichigo. You are a bright boy and I know you want to be a Hunter like myself and the others but it will take you years." He pouted but she ruffles his hair, "Don't worry Ichigo, you will get there but as for your Zanpakuto;

The Zanpakutō of low-ranking Shinigami are called Asauchi and do not have names, but the Zanpakutō of high-ranking Shinigami do have names. In its sealed state, a Zanpakutō has the form of a Japanese sword. Such weapons are unique swords generated from their owner's souls. Its shape differs depending on its owner.
Zanpakutō are the trademark weapons of the Shinigami. Capable of cutting spiritual bodies, they are among the few weapons which can be used to combat Hollows. Each Shinigami carries a Zanpakutō, and each Zanpakutō is unique: the swords are reflections of a Shinigami's power and soul, and sentient beings unto themselves. The Zanpakutō's name is the name of the living spirit which empowers the sword and lends its strength to the Shinigami who wields it. These beings can vary greatly in appearance, and have their distinct personalities, which are similar to their owners.
A Zanpakutō's shape and abilities are based on their Shinigami's soul. Once a Shinigami learns his/her Zanpakutō's name, they can communicate with one another and grow stronger together. Zanpakutō are born with their Shinigami, and they die along with their Shinigami. Shinigami use them in battle as a reflection of their heart. When released, they can display a vibrant power. They are one with the Shinigami, and they share a Shinigami's conviction.
Inside each Zanpakutō is an incarnation that manifests itself upon the Zanpakutō's transformation. The first step is to acquaint oneself with this incarnation.

"Too many big words mom." She chuckles.

"You awakened your powers. This 'Zangetsu' is a 'reflection' of you. He will be there to guide you in terms of knowing your powers."

"Awesome!" He says gleefully to which would cause her to laugh at her godson's enthusiasm.

Goodwitch's Apartment.

"Can you let go of my ear mom!?" He is still being pulled by his ear by Glynda.

"No." She continues pulling his ear and it was turning bright red, from the amount of pulling she is doing.

Once they entered her apartment, Ichigo could tell that there are some memorabilia from their old home. She would then let go of his beating red ear and Ichigo would cover his ear as Ichigo would then look around her apartment. Everything was very similar to how their old house was. Two couches, one large, one small in the living room with the TV on the wall. A Bookcase filled with different books with a small desktop with the lamp on it. There were pictures of a small Ichigo and Glynda together, along with his childhood friends all smiles by the stand below the TV.

There were also small trophies that Ichigo had won as a kid and some with his friends, some medals and an important item that he gave her, a small gold pendant that had a small letter saying he loves her as his mother.

A small smile forms on his face as he could tell that she loves him as her son and he knows that his time is almost coming to an end. He knows that he wants to spend more time with her and make things better for her and make things better for his 'allies' and hopefully gets to meet his childhood friends one last time.

Soon enough, part of his hair begins to turn more white, turning half of his hair more white.

Glynda would take notice of this and begins to worry about her son. "Ichigo, your hair." She pointed out.

He would then take a look in the mirror by the dining area and sees his hair indeed turned white. 'Can't die just yet. I need to get things on the right path.' He looks at his mother saying, "Probably a side effect. Hopefully, it's nothing." He clearly lies to her since he knows full well that this is taking an effect on him due to the amount of Dust in his body.

"Don't lie to me." She didn't want to hear that from him, "I know that it's an effect you Ichigo." Ichigo kept quiet as she goes on, "I know this thing is killing you so please don't lie to me." He could tell that she is about to be very emotional. "I just want my baby boy to be healed. I want you to get better, I don't want to lose you again!" Tears begin to run down on her eyes, she couldn't let this go. Ichigo quickly pulls her in and knows that this was the first time in over 8 years that he has hugged his godmother.

She then starts to let everything out. She misses this. She misses hugging her godson, she misses those morning hugs, morning kisses and night. Her tears started flowing her face, letting her emotions finally out. Sure she kept her emotions in checked but that cracked since the day her godson disappeared, considered M.I.A. or K.I.A., and now that he's finally here, she's breaking down that barrier.

'I'm not going anywhere mom. I'll find a way to remain here, even though I know I will be dead.'
