A blanket drooped over her shoulder as Elena took her eyes off the water and looked into Damon's eyes off the water and looked into Damon's eyes nodding her thank you before pulling it closer to herself to help keep her warm.

"It is beautiful out here. Thank you for showing it to me."

"It was my pleasure." He smiled sitting down on a chair as she sat in one next to him.

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For ruining what was supposed to be our first date."

"You didn't ruin anything. You're grieving and you just lost your husband. I would be a real dick if I didn't understand that."

"Thank you for understanding."

A smile crossed her face as he put his hand on Elena's and they spent the rest of their night enjoying each other's company.
