Salazar frowned as he stood by one of the many windows on the second floor of the castle. Outside, small white flakes were falling in soft drifts and covering the ground in a blanket of white. It was the first snowfall of the year and how Salazar hated it. It made the dungeons much colder than usual, which caused his joints to stiffen painfully.

Then he let out an anguished scream as a sudden wetness hit his neck, the frozen slush slipping down the back of his robes. He turned, his teeth bared, to see a giggling Helga standing at the end of the corridor.

"Hello, Salazar," she said coyly, tossing another ball of snow up and down in her hand. "Isn't the snow lovely?"

"Helga," he warned, pointing his cane at her as he slowly backed away. "Don't you dare."

Her smile widened as she advanced on him. "And why not?" she asked.

"Because this behaviour is childish. We are both adults, and there's no need to-"

The ball of snow hit him right in the face, a shudder travelling through his body upon contact. He scowled, wiping the snow away as Helga doubled over in laughter.

"You asked for it," he said, aiming his wand towards the snow outside. Perfectly round balls rose a few feet before flying through the window and joining him in the hallway.

Helga's eyes widened at the evil smirk across Salazar's face. "Run," he said simply.

Helga didn't need telling twice as she ducked around the corner, the snowballs following after her.

Rowena walked through the snow on the balcony, wrapped snugly in her warmest furs as she approached Godric who was smiling down at something in the courtyard. "What are you looking at?" she inquired, before turning in the direction he was looking in.

What she saw was a surprising sight - Helga and Salazar engaged in a snowfight, their wands forgotten as they hurled the white powder at each other, Salazar's deep laughter mingling with Helga's warm giggles.

"They seem to be having fun," Godric remarked, laughing as Helga nailed Salazar in the back of the head. She seemed to have spectacular aim.

Rowena just tutted and rolled her eyes. "Such childish endeavours," she remarked, but stayed to watch her colleagues antics below. They did seem to be having fun.
