A/N: Hiya everyone! This is the final chapter that is written on my birthday! (27-7-1999) I wouldn't expect any birthday gifts, but I wish to end this story on this significant date itself! Ayumi P.O.V
The two people met… On the middle was Akiya, the hallowed towerkeeper and on the front is Magari, the leader of the dark cult… Will there be any fights that could broke out and a worst case scenario happens? "L-Listen…" I muttered silently to Akiya, and he turned his head over to me—to only have me and the gang witness a truly look that is filled with angst and rage. "It'll all be over soon."
"Attack!" The man in black had already deployed their charms and spells long ago and blasted the projectiles towards the boy, but—a… shield deployed in a form of a five-petal flower had been manifested and all the attacks proved to be useless when it had collided with the shield, the attacks dissipating without much effort from the boy. Groans and screams could be heard from the gang that attacked him.
"Die—" He deployed a blue projectile, the electricity coursing through his arm as the attacking preparations were on-going. "That attack could take us all out! This is bad, Naho!" Tetsuya ran towards the cult and faced the boy with Naho-senpai, preparing to guard against the attack. "Let's do it, Tetsuya!" She used her staff to draw several runes on the ground and Tetsuya nodded, witnessing the attacking being thrown—
CRASH
"Rgggh—!" The attack was being hold back as the runes appeared in a form of a David's Star, the wind gusting had blasted several men back. "Ahhh—!" I also had been blown backwards, but Kishinuma-kun held me and smiled as we watched on with what is going on currently. "Stop it, dammit! You love her, don't you!? So why are you hurting her!" Tetsuya yelled out while he was starting to be dragged back by the impact, Naho holding her own too when she had helped him holding the attack back.
"…?" The boy was curious about what Tetsuya had said, but Magari's eyes were already widened by the time Tetsuya had said that. "You mean, you don't know who are you attacking at all!? That person was the person you had loved, goddamnit!" The boy was numb for a few seconds, but the attacked had been canceled out and Tetsuya fell backwards while trying to regain his breath from holding back the boy's spells.
The boy landed and looked at Magari, while the both of them walked to each other.
"I caught all the fireflies." The boy said with a silly grin.
"…Why are you insisting in getting hurt for me?" Magari said, with tears rolling in her eyes.
"I guess that is what you called—"
W-What are they doing!? G-Gosh… they're sealing each other's lips with their own… This is so embarrassing, but so touching at the same time… "Unyielding love, am I right?" Magari smiled and cried a little in his warmth while she snuggled her head into his chest, sobbing while we watched on.
"Heh… they're really sweet together, y'know." Kishinuma-kun said, chuckling while crossing his arms and watched the couple embraced each other and cried in each other's warmth. M-Maybe this is the time… I silently held his hand, his gaze now focused on me while blushing red. "W-We fit too, you know…"
"I bet we do…"
It took quite a long time and a lot of tears for Akiya and Magari to reconcile their feelings towards each other, but it was done nonetheless. She doesn't have to retrieve the Book of Shadows anymore, and she had decided to revolt against the cult after she had gone back to the living reality. It's kind of like… a dream… everything changed so suddenly…
"Now that this is all over… I will bring this tower to the world of reality." Akiya said while arriving in the room that contained his throne and looked at the portal that will lead towards a new reality. "Are you capable… of taking our friends back to the living world?" Akiya smiled while looking at the portal with a new light in his eyes, determined to reach the goal of his.
"Yeah, I can do it." Magari held his hand softly, and looked at the portal once again.
Runes began to appear and manifest themselves once Akiya had started concentrating at chanting his spells and focusing his magical resources to the surroundings, and Magari helped by placing her palms on his back to supply him magical energy whilst giving him the proper balance in the heavy spells he is going to perform.
"Let's assist them." Tetsuya and Naho-senpai had their palms reached out and was starting to chant the spells; runes starting to appear around them. Azusa, and several of the cult member also helped by chanting and even more runes had appeared as the responding towards the spells being chanted. A sword manifests within the very center of the spell circle.
"Agh, we need someone to wield it!" Akiya said while trying to hold on to the spell, and the circle had begun to appear unstable. Nobody had a free hand as of now—
"I'll do it."
Kishinuma stepped out, and looked forward without doubt and fear towards what he would possibly face. "K-Kishinuma-kun…" I said while looking at him, holding on to his hand in fear of losing him from the spell. I started to sob due to the overtaking fear that weiled up inside me had begun to consume my courage that made me stand up to everything until now. I don't want to lose him! I really don't…
"Don't worry. You had attempted a lot of efforts when we are going to save our friends… this time it's my turn. Let's go somewhere, someday after we got out of this place, okay?" He smiled, a blush tainting his cheeks as he looked forward and took hold of the hollow sword and grit his teeth.
"Go!" Tetsuya yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Do it!" Naho called out, holding her hands that were pointed towards the circle.
"For them!" Akiya said, the light getting even brighter.
"Swing it!" Magari cheered on, the circuits becoming more complicated.
"You don't have to tell me that…"
"ROAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
The hallowed sword was swung. A blinding light appears, and it illuminates all of us.
Three months later…
"C'mon already, Yoshiki!"
"Ayumi, for God's Sake, slow down!"
After that faithful event had happened… we all had been brought back to the world of living, our deceased friends and Sensei, too! Aren't I happy for all this to happen… I'm currently dating Yoshiki, and we're climbing on the Nevereverland Tower that Akiya-san brought upon this world to celebrate my birthday. Suzumoto-san, Shinohara-san, all of them are going to be there alive to celebrate and actually have fun with each other!
We had entered the chamber, a birthday cake placed upon the table that was prepared by my friends that had arrived here early to celebrate. "Shinozaki-san! Kishinuma-kun!" Shinohara flailed her arms energetically at us and calling us to go over to her side. "How's your love life lately? Deflowered yet?" I started to blush intensely when Shinohara had made the perverted remark towards us, and so is Yoshiki.
"N-No! Only you would lose virginity that early- jeez!" I said and crossed my arms, pouting with the sense of embarrassment filling my head. "Shinozaki-saaan!" Naomi waved her arms at us while calling us over and we took pictures together in the surroundings, then Shinohara started to grope her again… like it was before.
It all started from Yoshiki's appearance into my life.
I wonder how's Akiya-senpai doing with Magari-senpai now?
Me and Yoshiki went to the top to fulfil Akiya's final wish for revivng our deceased friends.
Akiya P.O.V
"So, why had you brought me here out of every place you can choose?" Magari smiled cheerfully at me, wearing the white dress that she used to back it the days where I had went to school with her.
"You get to find out soon." I climbed up to the top of the tower with her, her impatience just making me more enthusiastic to let her see what I had hidden in store for her, instead of annoying me. The moonlight is just perfect for what I am about to show her… everything's going on according to the plan. I bet Kishinuma and Shinozaki's using the secret route to reach to the tower before I do, too.
"Here." I stand at the middle panel of the top floor and waved towards Kishinuma and Shinozaki, giving them the signs to trigger the switch, revealing all the fireflies that I had caught in my lifetime and letting them fly towards the night sky, their lights filling the pitch black moon and filling them with the slightest bit of memories we had shared before despite of our separation from each other.
She gasped and looked at all of the soaring fireflies that filled the night sky with the shimmering light. Although small, many of them could fill the sky itself… like how my dream had gone for me. "So, how is the amount?" I smiled while I looked upon the sky and sighed deeply, stretching and getting in the fresh air tonight.
"You never cease to amaze me…" Magari said, smiling widely at me with a blush plastered on her face while getting close to me. Are we gonna… Yeah… our lips had already met before I had realized it. Everything went happily for me today… thanks… Tetsuya.
Tetsuya P.O.V
"Maaaan, can't I sleep longer for today, Naho?" I muttered, tired from the lack of sleep that I have gotten for the past few days. I can't help it! I need to study overnight for my tests since I haven't went to school for like, ages! I snuggled into the bed, and wanted to sleep longer.
"Wake up already!" She chuckled while assembling her books that had been needed for today's class and was trying to wake me up without resorting to violence. I made up with her after we got back from the tower and we'd been pretty sweet for the past few weeks.
Aaaah… everything went by in a flash.
…
I wonder…
…
No, I shouldn't. I'm happy now, and at piece.
With that thought occurring in mind, I woke up.
Ready to face reality again.
This is our Nevereverland alright. Never away from sadness and sorrow, but never away from happiness as well.
"Let's go."
