Chapter 1

Sabody was a peaceful place if one could ignore the corrupt officials and gang leaders that showed up. It was an absolutely terrifying place if not.

Though for the corrupt officials that lived at Sabody, it would always be a paradise-Their money and social standing showed that. Any crime could be committed by them and it would either be covered up or passed onto someone else. If it got too serious, then an admiral would be called in. The final option terrified everyone because it meant that a serious fight was going to happen.

For the gang members that frequented Sabody, it was a chance to prove their worth to their leaders, or a chance to pick up rookies looking for their break into the big leagues. Rarely was an overzealous get picked. They wanted to be captain, not follow one. Which would also be why so many rookies met their end here. Not many were willing to play nice and even less were willing to deal with mutinous thoughts.

To Ace and Sabo, two high ranking members of the Whitebeard gang, seeing all the rookies running around was hilarious. They'd been picked up after Ace had gone after Whitebeard himself. That stupid action should have gotten them both killed, but appearently Whitebeard saw something in them that he liked, so they were added to the group. This was their first time seeing how other rookies joined.

"It's actually organized." Sabo muttered to himself impressed. Ace was snoring into his food, much to Sabo's irritation. They were here for a special someone.

Monkey D. Luffy. A rookie that had a name for herself and her crew after multiple surprising events. The last anyone had heard was that she had escaped Enies Lobby with her crewmate, Nico Robin.

Sabody was the nearest place where a group could restock. Ace and Sabo begged to go. It was only when Whitebeard learned their reason that allowed them to go. In his words "he wanted to meet the newest member of his family." And that was why two of the most wanted men in the world were sitting at an outside restaurant table.

Then the air was pieced by explosions and gunshots.

"Okay, what'd I miss?" Ace lifted his head up.

"It just started. I think some group started something with the officials."

"I wonder what idiot would do that." Ace said. "I'd congratulate them for having the balls to do that."

Sabo agreed as he drank his tea.

"Straw Hat Luffy just attacked an official!"

Sabo spat his tea out at the same time Ace stood up.

"No way-She wouldn't-" Ace couldn't finish his sentence. Sabo managed to figure it out anyway. She wouldn't attack an official.

"She's reckless, Ace." Sabo said. "We shouldn't put it past her."

The fire devil fruit user nodded.

"Hey! You can't run off without paying!" The restaurant owner shouted at the retreating forms of Sabo and Ace.

"Ace..."

"Oh right."

Both men stopped and bowed. "Thank you for the meal!"

"Don't thank me! Pay for the meal!" The owner shouted.

But it was too late. Both men were already running into the madness caused by Strawhat and too far away to catch.

A/N: I had no idea how to end this chapter. I hope you like the re-write to Honest Freedom. It's going to be a little different in that it's a modern AU (And since I've brushed up on my One Piece, I can add more details to it)
