Hello fellow fanfiction writers and readers, here is a new chapter for yall that I hope is decent enough. I found out I'm pregnant, which I was told would never happen, so I've been taking a lot of care and precautions.

Three days pass before we make our move on Erudite, Avalon sent word to Candor's leader on what we planned to do and how he could help. He obliged, from living there myself I knew their leader didn't like Jeanine even though Erudite's values related closely to their own.

Cara was working on securing information and medical supplies, locking everything up so Jeanine and her lackies could destroy nothing. She still had some Dauntless in her compound. They tried to get back into our compound, but we used scraps of sheet metal and thick planks of wood to close up every entrance. Their attempts were futile. Their energy being wasted, Jeanine was getting desperate already. Her communication with every faction was cut. All of Abnegation had gone missing two nights ago, hiding in Candor.

We loaded up and moved out, elders and teens not old enough for initiation staying behind to guard children. It didn't matter that they were dauntless, we wouldn't let more blood be shed than what was necessary. It was probable that Jeanine had her dauntless lackies train select Erudite to fight and use weapons. I doubt almost any of them know what they really fighting for, who they are protecting. I watched and waited for Lynn, I hadn't seen her since last night. She left before I woke and didn't tell me where. Panic for her crushed my lungs as my heart plummeted into my stomach like a boulder.

I didn't have time to worry, I had to convince myself that Lynn was okay. Avalon took me aside as the rest of our compound filed outside, their thunderous footsteps making it impossible to hear anything she said.

"Take this." She repeated, in her hand was a syringe filled with a familiar substance.

"Candors truth serum?" I gasped, taking it from with hesitant hands.

"Yeah, I have some things I need to collect in Erudite. This is my only chance to do so before everything is destroyed." I didn't understand, destroyed? We weren't planning on destroying anything. We had heard the plan over and over again, we go in and find Jeanine, bring her in front of her compound and force the truth out of her. Turn her faction against her. "Inject Jeanine, we can't chance her lying or no one believing what she says. This will ensure that. You'll see what I need to get, trust me."

"Why are you choosing me to do this?" I questioned, my brow furrowed as she smirked like the answer was obvious.

"We come from similar lives, we are both divergent, we are both stronger than we think. Doubts and fear can't cloud you right now." We had no time left for chatter, it was time to stop Jeanine. "Take this, some doors will require key cards. This one should work."

It didn't take long to reach their compound, the needle and plastic card rested in the pocket lining the inside of my jacket. Hopefully safe while we searched and, if needed, fought. We were hoping for easy, but we knew that it wasn't likely.

Minutes pass, we walked into the empty lobby-like area. It was usually bustling with people. With our guns aimed and bodies poised we moved forward, spreading out in teams. Some moved up the set of stairs while others moved down another set. Corridors were long, empty, and eerily quiet. The stark whiteness of the walls making chills run over my skin.

Tris and I exchanged unsure looks, not knowing what to make of the absence of life.

We passed through another door, it slid shut behind us like all the others. This room had no visible exit, Tobias stood stoic as he searched with his eyes. Eric grunted, "The exit is closed off by a section of wall, it can only be opened from the other side. That's where they are. They trapped us."

"So smart, son." A voice echoed from an unseen speaker. "Your little friend, as unforeseen as her betrayal was, will be running into much bigger problems soon enough."

"You just love hearing yourself talk." I rolled my eyes, cutting her off from further boasting. "None of us care how long we have to wait, we'll get you and you'll have no choice but to tell all of Erudite the truth."

"You think you scare me, child?" she laughed, hints of worry creeping into her warbly tone.

"I know I do, you're scared of anything that doesn't fit your mold. So, you try to kill it. But you've already failed so many times, that scares you even more. You're old and predictable, get over it." I sighed, a smile playing on my lips.

She didn't respond, silence rung through the air. Minutes passed before you heard her snarl, "Who is opening the door? Which one of you?!"

Panels of wall robotically moved out of place revealing a glass sliding door, as it opened we were greeted with the smiling face of Lynn. "Avalon sent me in where she knew there wasn't camera's, clear locked doors and obstacles for us."

Before I knew it, my body crashed into hers, cursing her for going on this mission without ever telling me. That moment of relief didn't last long, we were all alert as we heard the footfalls of coming soldiers.

Gunfire and spoke bombs went off, we couldn't see even inches in front of our own faces. I plowed through, moving past the bodies I vaguely saw through the grey smoke, hoping the others would do the same.

I was in a different hall; the smoke hadn't traveled here. A single door sat at the end, I moved forward with my gun steady in my hands. On the door was a lit-up lock, there was no place for a key but instead a long slit; looked about right for the card Avalon had given me.

Inside was several computers, most showing different areas of the Erudite compound while others were supposed to show the Dauntless compound, but we made sure to destroy those.

"Nice set up, Jeanine." I turned to see her attempting to sneak up on me, a small hand gun outstretched in her trembling hand. "You going to use that on me?"

"Yes, should be more scared. But you're a stupid child." She countered.

"I've looked my own fears directly in their goddamn eyes, I've battled against them. You don't scare me, I doubt you scare anyone who has actual brains. What do you think you'll accomplish here? Rebellion is all around, it can't magically be stopped by wiping out a certain type of person. I mean, hell, that's even if you can."

"You doubt me?"

"As does everyone else." I shrugged, she was still inching forward with the gun much too far from her body. She left herself open for me to do pretty much anything. And so, I did. I knocked her arm outward, brought my fist as hard as I could into her stomach before bringing my foot down on her knee. She screamed, dropping her gun and holding her very broken knee cap. I brought my arms around her, dragging her from the room since she didn't have much choice now.

Back in the lobby the whole of Erudite was on their knees, crammed together until there was no space. It looked as though we were successful in not harming anyone who was innocent or misinformed.

"Hello members of Erudite." Eric spoke, "I am the son of Jeanine Matthews, some of you may remember me. I left, I had to. I had to get away from your so-called leader, she bled lies and hatred into all of you. She planned a genocide against the whole of abnegation, all of the factionless, any who showed even .1% of divergence. You and your own children were at risk of being murdered by her. And none of you knew." He stopped, his brows furrowed, "She was scared of those who were different than her, those she didn't understand so she was willing to kill them. They aren't dangerous, they don't stand out against any of us. Serums don't work on them, that is it."

The room was quiet, thick with tension and anger.

"Is it true?" someone called out, seeing that I held Jeanine.

"No!" she screamed. "My son lies, they all do. Dauntless seeks power, they are going to destroy us all for it!"

"Well, before any of you believe another word from her why don't we try this." I took the needle from my pocket and held it up for everyone to see. "Candors truth serum, not even they trust your leader." Before Jeanine could protest I plunged the needle into her neck, injecting the milky colored serum into her.

"Is it true, mother? Everything I said?"

She struggled, her face turning blue before I kneed her in the back. "Yes! Everything is true! They are harmless, they are like us but more. Pure in mind and being, they are different in that way."

"You wanted to kill so many innocent people?" a woman from the crowd croaked, "Even if they were infants?"

Jeanine snarled, "All of them!" that was enough, her once perfectly complacent compound was in havoc. People screaming for her execution since she had decided that for so many people already. Others wanted her imprisoned.

"ENOUGH!" Eric bellowed, Avalon had appeared at his side with a black bag slung over her shoulder. Stood beside her was a petite woman with a short blonde hair and hazel eyes, her glasses perched on her slim nose.

"Cara Jones will lead Erudite, she has helped us to bring down Jeanine. Her IQ surpasses Jeanine's, she has the qualities to bring Erudite into a new era of peace and knowledge. Respect her, let her lead you and you will never be led astray. You will become stronger than ever, you will be at peace with all factions. There will be no more lies. A council will be formed to lead us all, decisions for factions and our world will be made as a whole. Cara Jones, Eric Matthews, Johanna Williams, Natalie Prior, and Jack Kang will head this council."

With a few more short words we left, Jeanine in cuffs and in tow. She was being led by Uriah and Zeke, she would be held in a cell within dauntless. She would rot there.

Within a few short weeks life was nearly back to normal, some things were different now. Avalon was pregnant, my brother had to take pills every day and make a trip to Erudite every month for an evaluation and to talk with someone specializing in mental illness, he was also dating Deidra and Avalon threatened to kill him on a daily basis. Tobias and Tris were finally out with their relationship, happier than before, same with Will and Chris.

Even Lynn and I were together, she chose the most opportune time to ask me out as well. As I was shoving Jeanine into a cell, a grin spread across my face.

"You've never looked beautiful than when you're being a badass." She had said.

"Badass? I put her in a cell, I barely fought. I was able to slip away and find her."

"Yeah, you snuck away from a shit ton of people with guns and got our main target without them realizing. Pretty badass if you ask me." She paused, her hands behind her head as her face turned a bright red. "I mean, there's only one thing you could do to just top off your badass cake."

"Yeah?" I snorted, "What's that?"

"Be my girlfriend." She smirked even though it was obvious she was nervous as hell.

"Ah, yes. Truly badass." I nudged her before realizing she was serious, "I think I could manage that." I saved myself from embarrassment.

Our world was more structured, there was no struggle for food, there was no factionless. It was peaceful for the first time in decades. Maybe one day it wouldn't be, maybe one day the monsters I feared would come. But for now we were all thankful for the reprieve.
