A/N: Thank you all for your patience. This is a all fluff chapter. The plot didn't progress that much, but somebody's feelings sure did ;)

Enjoy!

Chapter 22

Kyoko felt like a turtle, no matter how much she was trying to move the patient on top of her would not budge an inch.

He was breathing heavily, she could feel his heart beat because she was almost consumed by him. She checked his temperature again and it was higher than she assumed.

She tried calling him, several times with no response.

Should she try calling him Kuon? Well it's worth a try, maybe a disrespectful act would stir him.

"Kuon-san", she whispered. Mostly because she was super uncomfortable but it was less uncomfortable than being under him.

She called him again. With no results. She then tried to call him without any honorific….

"Kuon", she called out.

This…. Had an effect. But not what kyoko was anticipating.

Kuon now wrapped Kyoko up between his arms and was treating her like a side pillow. This happened under 1min before she could comprehend what was happening.

His head was in the crook of her neck and he was breathing heavily, as if trying to breath her in. Kyoko turned red from head to toe because of embarrassment. Her inside voice was screaming at her to get out of this indecent position. She tried to peel his arms off of her. Slowly, trying not to agitate him.

Kuon, who was so dizzy and out of his bearings, thought the pillow was trying to escape and grabbed her tighter. Then in his mind the pillow turned into a comforting cloud that was cooling down his scorching temperature. It was so soft and smelled like lavender and something citrus, he couldn't really pin the smell down… was it lemon, orange? He wanted to take a bite, breathing it in didn't seem enough.

Saying Kyoko was startled would be an understatement when she felt Kuon bite into her neck. For a moment she seriously thought he was a vampire and her mind conjured up all the rationale that he was, well why else he didn't like human food.

But he wasn't biting her hard enough to draw blood. So was it sleep induced insanity?

Kuon moved his head and bit into the juncture of her neck and shoulder and this time Kyoko moved her neck away with a jerk and looked at him to see if he was actually awake and doing this on purpose.

He seemed like he was in a daze, his eyes were closed and since he didn't have access to her skin anymore, he was unconsciously looking for it, tilting his head up and dangerously close to her lips.

Kyoko eeped and quite forcefully turned around but could get out of his vice like grip. She felt him snuggle into her back and his thundering heart started to calm down.

She was so scared and exhausted and embarrassed that she wasn't able to rest. Every now and then Kuon would stir and bring her closer and all her effort of moving away slowly will be for nothing.

Around 4am in the morning she gave up and stopped trying all together.

Around 7am in the morning Kuon opened his eyes, more coherent. He never had this good of a rest in years it seemed. He snuggled close to the source of comfort, breathing his pillow in. It was so soft and comfortable and it just instantly had a calming effect on him. Where did he buy it from? Well most of his furniture was selected and bought by his sister or brother. He didn't really want to bother. Why hadn't he realized this sooner?

But he could feel his pillow like it was alive. Thats…. Weird.

He opened his eyes and it felt like a struggle and he thought about giving up and sleeping again.

But he opened his eyes to come face to face with black, at first he thought it was his black pillow case or bedding. But he soon realized that it was hair.

Smooth , luscious and soft hair.

He tried to touch it but realized both of his hands were curled around a person?

Oh Shit!

Was this a person?

Did he actually go out and bring someone home? He didn't even casually look for women anymore because women always flocked around him. He didn't really need to or want to for that matter.

Slowly when everything started to come back to him, he realized who exactly he took to his bed and he mentally slapped himself. He then realized how tightly he was holding her and she looked like she was in the middle of trying to escape.

He sighed and loosened his grip. What should he do now? Should he wake her up? Should he wait? Pretend to sleep?

He will go insane it seemed. He was never this unsure of himself.

He decided to wait and didn't remove his hands, but made sure she would be able to get out if she wanted to.

A part of him wanted to know, to know what she thought of him. Would she willingly stay here with him?

Another hour later, when Kuon was quite mesmerised by the texture of Kyoko's hair and her weirdly relaxing smell to a point he wanted to know what shampoo she used, Kyoko woke up.

Kuon pretended to sleep like a dead person.

It took 43 seconds for Kyoko to come back to her senses and she immediately tried to escape from the traps that this kuon had as hands. To her surprise he loosened his grip and she was able to get off the bed. Once she was finally off the bed she promptly put a pillow between his hands and wrapped him in the comforter. Silently going out of the room.

Kuon thought she was definitely leaving after what happened. He kind of, to put it mildly held her against her will and it made him feel like scum. He was contemplating his apology and then surprising him once again, Kyoko entered the room and started to take care of him.

With a water bag under his head, a cooling pad on his forehead and several wipes to get rid of his sweat that even he did realize was an issue, she left the room again.

To say he was shocked was an understatement. He never got sick so he never experienced nursing. But he was feeling so much better and he couldn't deny the warmth he felt because she took care of him like that.

It made him feel, dare he say it, special.

She came back after another hour. This time she gently tried waking him up and Kuon without any fuss opened his eyes to find her settling congee on his bedside table. He also noticed medicine.

She asked if he could get up a bit and he complied. At this point if she wanted his arms or legs he might give them to her.

She made him drink water, quite a lot at first. Then she handed him the congee and he took it, not trying to spill it but his hands trembled and he was mortified.

Is this what sickness did to people? He couldn't find any strength.

Kyoko without any word, with practiced ease, started feeding him.

And for some reason he was irritated.

After the 5th bite he realized why he was so irritated.

Because of her practised ease. It was like she was so used to taking care of useless sick people.

And only one name came to his mind and in an instant a bitter feeling emerged from the depths of his heart.

He knew exactly what he was feeling.

He was fucking jealous.

This was making him more sick than the god forsaken cold.

He… for this girl…. What exactly did he get himself into.
