Okay, this one's short, I'm sorry! T_T I hope you enjoy it anyways! Think of it as the omake of a lovey dovey romance anime... short 'n sweet! Lol. K bai love you! :3 -3- muah

It was supposed to be a calm, structured dinner.

Arrive at four. Talk in the living room with her mother and father until dinner, which was at five. And after dinner, which ended at six thirty, they would bid each other farewell, and she and Gray would board the train and head back.

This was not her perfectly planned meeting.

It had started out simple and calm enough.

They came to the gate, (with Gray staring in awe a bit at the grounds) and were invited in by the servants. She'd made Gray dress nicely for the occasion, a nice suit. Not too fancy, but these were her parents she was taking him to see. She warned him that if he took off anything but his jacket, there would be hell to pay. She must have frightened him enough, because he remained in his clothes until the end. It was remarkable, really.

Anyways.

They got there, and she introduced him.

"Mama, Papa, this is Gray." She was blushing a little bit, but she was happy they finally got to meet her Ice Mage boyfriend. "We've been together for about six... no, seven months now." She said. Gray clasped her hand, and she smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Mr and Mrs. Heartfilia. I'm Gray Fullbuster."

Her father's eyes had narrowed upon seeing him, but apparently Gray was enough of a "gentleman" to pass his inspection.

And so that went well.

Next was small talk.

Which Gray proved not to be good at.

He either talked about Fairy Tail (which Lucy was sure her father wouldn't want to hear about), or about his rivalry with Natsu. So, even though her mother was finding it quite amusing, Lucy took over, subtly prodding Gray in the direction of topics.

And once Lucy helped him out with that, that went well as well.

And then... then there was dinner.

That's when it went to hell.

"So, Gray, what do you think of our daughter?"

Lucy froze. Uh oh. What was he going to say? She knew he loved her, but how was he going to explain that to her parents...?"

Gray straightened up. "She's the most beautiful and intelligent woman I've ever laid eyes on. And she'd an awesome fighter, as well."

Lucy went a shade of scarlet that no human thought was possible, and ducked her head. Wow. He was sure to win them over with that, right?

"I can't take it any more! You're the sweetest man I've ever met!" Layla squealed, leaning across the table and taking Gray's hands in hers.

Gray blinked.

Lucy gasped.

Her father stared at her. "L-Layla..." She looked at her husband sheepishly. "Oh... I love you darling, I was just-"

"Mom!"

"Layla!"

"W-what's going on-" Gray stammered, his hands still being held by Lucy's mother.

"Let go of that man this instant! And you-" He turned on Gray. "You little-"

Lucy snatched Gray's hand away from her mother and stood up. "And it was lovely while it lasted, but it looks like we've forgotten about our mission, right, Gray?" Lucy laughed a very fake laugh and began to drag him from the table.

Her father stood up. "Don't you run away-"

"What mission- oh right, that one!" Gray said, seeing Lucy's urgent look.

"Okay, it was great to see you, mama, papa! Goodbye now!" She said, dragging Gray out of the room. "This damn dress..." she muttered, lifting up the hem as she ran.

"You get back here-"

"Lucy, run! Get out of here!" Her mother's (very amused) voice called after them as they fled the dining hall.

.

.

.

"Lucy..." Gray murmured, several hours later in the safety of Lucy's apartment.

She looked up, nervous. What was he going to say? It had turned into such a mess and-

"You're mom's the best!" He grinned.

Lucy stared at him.

"Hah?"

Misleading title is misleading. Lol
