Yohime walked the halls in the light of the room, from the polished wooden floors, to the smooth stones of the courtyard. In her arms, swaddled in a a blanket, lay Nura Rihan, her son. Inclining her head, she brushed his forehead his her lips in a soft kiss.

"Let me tell you a story," she whispered quietly to her child, "A story of a family won and a family lost. Of pain and loneliness, of joy and happiness. It begins on the afternoon of a young girl's birthday when she fell down the well on her family shrine into a world of mikos, ayakashi and demons…"

With a secret smile, Yohime, the wife of Nurarihyon, Lord of Pandemonium, the leader of the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons raised her eyes to the magnificent sakura tree that towered above her. Standing underneath it's branch, in the midst of it's falling petals, was a beautiful woman. Her form was faded, as if she truly wasn't there. But she nodded her head at the miko in something like respect.

Yohime tightened her grip around her son.

"I know his future," she announced in a strong clear voice, "For this you have shown me."

Again, the woman nodded, in acceptance.

The princess fixed a fierce glare on her.

"I will not lose my son to the curse of the Fox. I am miko, I am Yohime and it will break and I will not let death take him from me."

A loose smile touched the woman's unearthly lips and she dipped her head in perhaps, approval? Yohime did not care. With a regal gesture she gave a shallow, yet sincere bow, pivoting on her heel so her kimono swung out in a graceful arch behind her. With firm, silent and determined steps, Yohime returned into her mansion, her newborn son sleeping peacefully in her arms.

A/N It has been waaay too long since the ending of 'Of Mikos Ayakashi and Demons and I have been through a lot. Two moves (each across the country), lost all my data for about 15,000 words on this that I still haven't managed to rewrite, I've published several more fictions, graduated, and I'm going through college now.

I am really sorry for the amount of time it's taken me to get this up and it's only a measly 313 words. I will fix that with the next chapter. Again, my apologies.

Leave some reviews, yes? I've missed talking with y'all.

Yours,

NP
