The Star In His Subconscious

She's graceful, elegant and sophisticated. She's beautiful, stunning, radiant. She's intelligent, thoughtful and utterly charming.

She's also married and off limits.

Harry watches her at the Ministry Events he's forced to appear at, subtle glances in her direction, because of course, it wouldn't do for Lucius to see him watching his wife. Harry's been slightly obsessed with Narcissa since the end of the war, when she risked her life to save his own. Of course, he knew that she hadn't done it for him. It'd been for Draco.

Still, he could still remember her scent, the feel of her hair on his face, the tremor of fear in her whisper.

It is enough to fuel his dreams, to fuel his nightmares and to fuel his fantasies. She is the star of most of them.

As Ginny takes his arm to lead him to the dance floor, Harry forces away his wants and desires and concentrates himself back on his soon to be wife. He hopes that if he concentrates hard enough, she'll take the spot that Narcissa holds, the star in his subconscious.
