(A watership down version of a poem of mine. The last part might not make
much sense, but lets say Hazel has a mate named Rosemary who is still alive
at Watership Down.)
Hazel-rah is a legend among all,br But alas he is just a normal creature.br Like all good things, life must endbr So he recalls every single feature.brbr
His colorful life, adventurous true, br The quest for the place none knew was there.br Watership Down so it they found,br And the fields were all good and fair.brbr
Hazel-rah lay down by the ditch,br Exhausted, tired, not likely to move.br Nor to silfay, nor hraka or bolt.brbr Tharn? No, passing on is his soul. brbr
Life ebbed from the now limp body,br And Hazel-rah was lifted up from below.br "My lord, I know who you are."br Slowly, Reluctantly, him he did follow.brbr
Through endless fields of flowing greens,br Each flower bearing good memories,br Of friends he left behind,br When he went off to eternity.brbr
Rabbits that went before him,br Welcomed him to his new home.br But somewhere off a voice did cry,br "Don't go, don't leave me alone!"brbr
His friends went off at his request,br As he took in Rosemary's call.br "Please wait, wait for me, br Even through the fall! brbr
I care more for thee than any rabbit. br when it's bright and fair, br and I've seen my days, br We'll walk together there."brbr
Hazel-rah turned to follow his friends, br When the immage of his mate appeared in his mind, there.br "When it's bright and fair and I've seen my days, br We'll walk together there."br
