Gentle, Soft, Quiet

His fingers slide gently through the purple locks, for once unbraided and no perfect bow in place. Tired lavender eyes stare up at him through long lashes. The sun is beginning to rise. They have a long day ahead of themselves of planning and plotting, yet neither of them slept.

Instead, their entire night was like this. Shinoa had showed up at his door shortly after everyone else had gone to bed. He let her in, and she stayed there the whole night. They talked, cuddling with each other. They stayed quiet, not wanting to wake the others. But mostly, they basked in the silence together, neither quite having the right words to fill the room with. The world was never silent anymore anyways, it was a breather for both of them.

"Should we try?" Yuu finally asks.

"Try what?" Shinoa's eyes flicker to the window. The sunlight is starting to fill the room, seeping through and casting a yellow light across the floor.

"Sleeping. For a little bit," he smiles. He's tired too.

"I think it might be too late to bother," Shinoa says softly, her eyes once again meeting his. She starts moving to stand, but Yuu holds her back. "Wha-"

His lips are against hers. It's not a feverish kiss.

It's gentle, like when he runs his fingers through her hair.

It's soft, like the sound of Shinoa's voice.

And it's quiet.

He pulls away. "Sorry."

"Don't be," she smiles. "That's what I needed. And probably what you needed too." This time, when she stands, he doesn't stop her. She walks away from him, towards his door to go to her own room.

"Wait."

She stops, her hand on the doorknob. "Yeah?"

"Do you think that after all of this, maybe you'd like to spend all of our nights like this?" he motions around himself.

"Well," she says, turning to look at him out of the corner of her eye, "I would love to spend every night with you, but I would at least like to get some sleep." She smiles again, "But yeah, I would love to."

I don't know, it's late and I missed writing these two.
