Bit and Bobs

Heaps of Harrys

Harry Potter, much loved Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor was enjoying himself immensely sitting at his kitchen table with the love of his life, Ginny Potter, sitting on his lap.

They were involved in some intense negotiations about who would be doing the dishes that night. Harry felt he was at a distinct disadvantage because he kept losing his train of thought. That was when he was able to think at all.

His lovely wife took it upon herself to wiggle quite distractingly whenever he opened his mouth to speak.

Just when things were beginning to get really interesting and Harry was contemplating taking the negotiations to another room, one upstairs that was sometimes used for sleeping, there came a knock at the door.

"Wonder who that could be?" Ginny asked innocently.

Harry frowned at her, there was something about the lilt in her voice that was saying that maybe she had been tipped off about whoever was at the door.

He was about to say as much when Ginny squirmed her luscious bum once more into his lap, getting her expected result, before she rose and smiled devilishly at him.

"Why don't you get the door, while I get started on the dishes," she said with a mischievous grin.

Right then and there, Harry knew he was being set up.

"Certainly, dear," he said, his voice cracking as he struggled to reign in his runaway emotions.

Taking a deep breath and vainly trying to ease the constriction in his trousers, he headed for the door.

He paused before he opened it, trying desperately to think of something to ease his discomfort but every time he closed his eyes, the vision of Ginny in a negligée appeared in his mind and he wondered if Ginny hadn't spiked his tea.

Not that she needed to, that image was one of his favourites and he thought of it often. It was the timing that he was concerned with.

Giving it up as a lost cause, he just hoped that whoever was visiting wouldn't notice.

He opened the door and was surprised to see Minerva McGonagall waiting patiently, though there was something about the smile on her face that bothered him.

"Why Minerva, this is a surprise. I'd have thought that seeing me tomorrow for the pre-start of term staff meeting would have sufficed," he said genially.

The usually rather stern Headmistress gave him an uncharacteristic mischievous grin as she came into the cottage.

Before Harry could say anything else, Ginny popped her head into the room.

"Why hello, Minerva," she chimed cheerfully. "Would you care for some tea?"

"That would be wonderful," the venerable woman replied with a wry grin.

"To what do we owe this pleasure?" Ginny added as she prepared the tea.

Harry was not so casually listening as he was also curious as to why Minerva was visiting.

"I came to have a little discussion with your husband," Minerva replied, once more giving an uncharacteristic grin.

"Why do I get the feeling I'm not going to enjoy this conversation," Harry posed.

Totally out of character, Minerva began to chuckle, causing Harry to raise an eyebrow at her, while Ginny looked quite amused.

"I figured I'd come and talk to you as I know how much you hated any undue attention and I figured you wouldn't like it if I brought this up at the staff meeting," Minerva explained, still looking very amused.

"Oh, this must be good," Ginny teased as she served the tea.

Harry sighed deeply as he placed a plate with a selection of pastries and biscuits on the table before sitting down with the two women.

"Okay, you've both had your fun." Harry griped, looking at the two highly amused women.

He shot a piercing glare at his wife, wondering if she was in on whatever Minerva found so amusing but when she shook her head in denial, he was confident she was just entertained by his discomfort.

Minerva took her time, glancing over the pastries before she selected one. She took a bite and a sip of her tea, all in the desire to stretch things out.

Ginny had a hard time containing her chuckles, knowing what the venerable woman was doing. She was sure she was doing so because of all the things Harry had pulled at Hogwarts, both as a student and as a teacher.

Harry was also well aware of what Minerva was doing and he did his best to hide his annoyance. This wasn't the first time she'd taken the mickey out on him in retaliation for his past misdemeanours.

Minerva was obviously in no hurry and was seeming to relish Harry's discomfort, no matter how much he was trying to hide it.

She turned her attention to Ginny and began to chat with the petite red-head, asking her how she was doing etc.

Harry had to fight to keep from rolling his eyes, and while he managed not to, it was a near thing.

It took close to an hour but finally the teapot was nearly empty and the plate of desserts was the same before Minerva turned her attention back to Harry.

"You've been very patient; much more that I expected," she stated with a grin.

"So, I'll finally learn why you came and visited us?" Harry inquired, looking amused himself.

"Yes," Minerva laughed. Shaking her head as she chuckled, "As you know it's been eleven years since your defeat of Riddle," she remarked, watching Harry closely to see if he could put the pieces together.

Silence reigned for a moment before Ginny's eyes widened and she began to laugh.

"What am I missing?" Harry asked, looking slightly bewildered and annoyed.

"Oh, Harry," Ginny giggled.

"What?" he asked, sounding quite annoyed.

Ginny giggled softly once more before looking at Minerva. "How many?" she asked.

"There are fifty-six Harrys and thirty-seven Harriets," Minerva replied, trying but failing to stifle her laughter.

Ginny took one look at her husband who had a rather shocked look on his face and burst out in laughter.

Harry just glared at her before dropping his head onto the table with a soft thud. "People are freaking insane," he muttered, which only made his two companions laugh all the harder.

"Don't laugh too hard," Minerva stated, giving Ginny an amused look. "There are also twenty-two Ginevras," she added.

Ginny stared at her in disbelief. "What?" she shrieked, causing Minerva to laugh.

"While you aren't as popular as Harry, you are the Chosen One's Chosen One," she smirked.

Ginny closed her eyes and shook her head. "Harry, you're right, people are insane."

Minerva gave one last soft laugh before she glanced at the clock and gave a soft sigh. "Well, I've let you know what I planned on and really must be going," she mused as she rose.

"I'll see you tomorrow," she chuckled.

Ginny saw her to the door and once the venerable woman had left, she rejoined Harry in the kitchen. He still sat where they had left him, his head still resting on the table.

She went over to her husband and tenderly ran her fingers through his hair. "Look on the bright side," she teased.

Harry rolled his head toward her and gave her a questioning look. "Bright side?" he asked incredulously.

"At least Snape isn't there to give you grief," Ginny explained.

Harry thought about it for a moment before he reluctantly nodded his head. "Yeah, there is that," he admitted.

"Now that that's settled, quit your moping and if your a good boy, I'll give you a treat," she said with a grin.

Harry's perked up immediately. He knew what Ginny meant by a treat. Since they were married, whenever she said treat, it meant some quality time in the bedroom, or the kitchen, or perhaps the parlour, in fact it meant in just about every room and nook and cranny in their house and several places around their property.

Ginny shot him a sultry look as she sashayed out of the room.

Harry shot up and followed her quickly. He'd deal with all the Harry's when he had to. Right now he was going to catch his wife and spend as much time as possible showing her just how much he loved her.

A/N: Just something that came to me as I contemplated just how popular Harry might be after saving the Wizarding World once again.
