Chapter Ten: The Final Act

The first one through the door to see the new family room was Emmett, of course. Ever exuberant, excitable Emmett. At first glance, Emmett may have seemed like the least likely person to care about pillows and paintings and other such things.

But Emmett had also been very close to Alice. Emmett...was speechless.

"I...can't...I...Bro, it's her. Ally is everywhere in this room. It almost looks like she designed it herself." Emmett stuttered, looking expectantly at Jasper as if he assumed his brother would fall apart any minute.

"I know. Didn't Esme do an awesome job?" Jasper smiled gently, sending Emmett his acceptance and assurance and joy.

"Yeah, I mean, of course. Esme always does an awesome job. This is just...a whole lot of Alice. It really brings it home that she's gone." Emmett clarified.

"Gone but not forgotten," Bella clarified, stepping into the room, resting one hand on Emmett's shoulder and the other on Jasper's. "This room will be a great way for us to remember her, and to feel like she's still with us. But I also think it will help us heal. Because the things we all loved so much about Alice…they all live on."

Jasper sent her a wave of gratitude. "That's right. This room is the perfect embodiment of Alice's enthusiasm. And her joy. Her style, her flair. Her strength. Her love. And those are the things we want to hang on to."

"And her sense of color," Rosalie added, walking slowly around the room. "I love how vibrant it is in here. But not in a cheesy way, it's also classy, which was Alice to a T."

"Yes, in fact, this might sound corny, but this room reminds me very much of Alice's mind," Edward added, assessing the decor. "It looks like a space she would think of."

"I think it's amazing, Darling." Carlisle smiled, looking around the room. "You've truly captured her spirit in a way very few things ever could."

"Thank you," Esme said softly. "And how about the elephant in the room? Are we going to address that?"

"Hey, I might be big, but I'm no elephant." Emmett joked with a wink to set her at ease. Then he lifted the lid of the coffin. "I dunno, I think it makes sense. I mean, we throw Jasper in the middle, everyone is happy." He shrugged with a playful grin.

"I'd be pretty happy if we threw Bella in the middle too," Rosalie smirked. In all honesty, Rose didn't care who was the center of attention, as long as it wasn't her. Jasper sent her a wave of calm and confidence which she appreciated.

"So, we're all agreed, this is happening?" Carlisle confirmed, ever the leader.

"Yes, it seems to be what everyone wants going forward." Edward, as the resident mind-reader, confirmed.

"Great!" Emmett grinned, scooping up Jasper and throwing him over one shoulder and Bella over the other. "Last ones in, get the outsides!"

Once everyone was in and settled, it worked out that Emmett stole the middle place, putting Jasper on one side of himself and Bella on the other. Rose then quickly stole the vacant spot next to Bella, which left Edward to take the spot next to Jasper. Esme slid in, on the side beside Rose, assuming she would be more comfortable with her than with Carlisle, at least for the time being.

Which left Carlisle to slide in beside Edward. Edward had to admit he was pretty thrilled about being flanked by men of authority. And even more thrilled when Carlisle began kissing his neck.

Meanwhile, the ladies were getting things underway as well. Bella had taken the liberty of showing Esme a few things Rose liked and Emmett was vacillating between chiming in his own feedback there, and observing what was going on with the men.

Jasper was stroking Edward by this point, whilst Carlisle prepared to enter his oldest companion. Edward was hanging on by a thread, trying not to get overwhelmed by the combined sensations, lest he achieve his release too quickly. Jasper sent him a bit of calm to help matters.

Once Esme seemed to be figuring things out with Rose, Bella decided, rather than risk overwhelming Rosalie with too much attention, she would spin around to face Emmett, curious to see where that would lead. Of course, she expressed this desire to Rose first, who nodded her consent to sharing her mate.

"Hi, Em." Bella smiled, gazing at her giant of a brother and taking in the gorgeous scenery.

"Well, hey there, Bellabear. How you doin'?" He smirked.

Bella rolled her eyes and laughed. Then she decided to be brave and kiss him.

Emmett seemed startled for a brief millisecond, but he soon gave in to the kiss and began kissing her back. It was not surprising that they had chemistry. It would have been more surprising if they hadn't. Bella and Emmett had always shared a playful flirty vibe. Back when all of the couples were exclusive, it was of a tamer variety, but even then the attraction was clear.

And now, lying in what was essentially a custom-made orgy coffin, they could finally explore that attraction to the fullest extent. It didn't take long for things to escalate, quickly becoming deeply passionate as they kissed and caressed and explored one another's bodies.

Meanwhile, Edward was having the time of his life, being pleasured by Jasper's talented touch and loving kisses, while Carlisle pounded into him from behind.

Carlisle found his mind drifting a little as he couldn't help wondering how Esme was doing. To his knowledge, she'd never been with another woman before. She had expressed an interest before when they were engaging in pillow talk, but in practice, it was something else. More than just a fantasy. And curiosity had him peeking across the length of the coffin, just to see how she was faring.

Apparently, she had taken to sapphic exploration rather well though because one discrete glance revealed that Rosalie was in the throes of passion and Esme's tongue was evidently the reason. Satisfied that things were going well with the girls and pleasantly surprised to note that Emmett and Bella were also getting better acquainted, Carlisle was able to temporarily put away the concerned coven leader side of his personality and focus more thoroughly on Edward and Jasper.

Which was perfect timing, because Edward could no longer hold back the tremendous amount of pleasure that had been building for a while and as Carlisle's thrusts drove him over the edge, Edward clutched Jasper in his arms, sinking his fangs into his lover's shoulder. An instinctive reflex. Carlisle soon followed him over the edge, doing likewise to Edward, marking him in a similar manner.

And while all of that was going on, Bella and Emmett had escalated things past the point of foreplay, as he swiftly entered her for the first time with his impressive length.

Bella glanced over at Rose to make sure this was still okay, but Rose was basking in a post-orgasmic haze and barely noticed at first. It wasn't until Rose and Esme switched positions so that Rosalie could return the favor that she even glanced at her surroundings. And when she took note of her sister's worried gaze, she responded by taking Bella's hand, lacing their fingers together as a sign of love and solidarity.

This gave Bella the courage and reassurance she needed in order to focus solely on making love to Emmett. And he, of course, was never bothered by her momentary distraction. In fact, if anything, her concern for Rose's feelings turned him on even more. They continued to kiss and touch one another until they were basking in bliss.

Soon, all of the pleasure and emotions became too much for Jasper's empathic gift since he'd never been in such close proximity to so many vampires in the throes of ecstasy at once. He inadvertently began projecting the intense lust and love and passion and joy all throughout the space. It built and escalated and soon, every single vampire was crying out in orgasmic euphoria.

It wasn't long before they were each so spent and satisfied, it was all they could do to kiss each other goodnight and collapse in a pile of happy exhaustion.

And at the same time, across the sea, a Pixie was crying.

"It is time. They are all bonded." Marcus reported.

"Cut it then, before I change my mind," Alice sobbed, as Chelsea took her invisible scissors and sliced carefully through the faded silver thread that had united Alice to her Major for so many decades.

"So, My Child," Aro crooned. "Are you ready now to join us for eternity? We have all signed the document."

The document promised that the Volturi would never come for the Cullens and would leave the Olympic Coven in peace. It was signed by all of the Brothers and their entire Guard.

"They are never to know." She reminded the kings. "They deserve to have the closure that believing I died has given them."

"Yes, yes, your secret is safe indeed, My Dear. No one will ever know of your place in the Guard." Aro assured, taking her by the hands. "And you mustn't be so hard on yourself. You did what needed to be done to protect them. The Cullens are weakened enough now that we need not fear their retaliation for that fateful day in the clearing when we acted so rashly. And now that they believe that we killed you, a powerful psychic, of all things, they are fearful enough to tread lightly and will no longer be a cause of concern for us." He smiled, turning to Chelsea.

"Is it finished, Charmion?" He inquired.

"Yes, Master. Alice is bonded to our coven now. She has no more ties to the Cullens." Chelsea confirmed.

"And Marcus, do you see these connections holding?" Aro confirmed gleefully.

"Yes, Brother. The bonds that began as a comfort to grief have strengthened into something much more reliable. And once the mating bond was weakened enough to be severed, all of the other cords turned silver. The soldier is remarkably mated to each of the others now, in the truest sense, as are they to one another," Marcus reported.

"I told you it would work." Alice smiled softly.

The moment was bittersweet. Her family was safe, even though they would never be her family again. And they were happy. Even though they would always miss her on some level. Their grief would no longer be the crippling thing it had been. They had each other now. And love was stronger than sorrow.

Back across the sea, a sleepy vampire in a coffin full of lovers whispered to the others. "It's gone. The ache in my chest. The pull that was there. It doesn't hurt anymore."

"I'm so glad to hear it, Jasper," Bella whispered, the only one still awake. "It must mean you're really healing."

"Maybe I finally am. I don't feel lost anymore. I feel found. I feel like I finally belong here with all of you. Before, I just felt stretched and tired." He yawned, giving in to sleep.

Bella reflected internally that what Jasper had been feeling was similar to what she'd felt when Edward had left her so many years ago. Like the person you loved was somewhere else and you couldn't breathe without them.

But now, it seemed, he felt the opposite of that. Belonging and contentment. It had to mean that even without Alice, they would be okay. Jasper had taken the love he'd felt for Alice and focused it on the rest of the family and now he could be happy, even in the face of his loss. It bodes well for their future.

"You know we love you, Jasper. And as an Empath, I'm sure you know how much." Bella smiled, kissing him softly.

"I certainly do." Jasper nodded. "It's pretty staggering. But I feel the same."

"Good. Because I think I'm pregnant. And I have a feeling it's yours."

His jaw dropped open. He wanted to speak but he couldn't form words. So he settled for sending her his joy, surprise, and happiness and he kissed her until they both fell fast asleep.

AN: Okay, so that's it. I might eventually do an epilogue set waaay into the future since there will be no sequel for this one. But only if there's a bunch of interest because I have a ton of other projects I need to get cracking on.

Anyway, I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on both of the big reveals and the story in general!

Blessings,

-BMW
