Prologue

Welcome to the world of Pokemon!

A place where humans and creatures called: Pokemon, live together and spend almost every day together in peace. Some people treat them as pets to care and look after, others treat them as allies that can help them in achieving their goals, and others treat them like friends and family.

There's hundred's of different species of Pokemon that exist throughout the world. So much, that everyone has at least one Pokemon to call their own. Pokemon also have an amazing ability to grow stronger and change shapes when they reach a certain 'level' or 'condition' to do so. This transformation is called 'Evolution', which changes a Pokemon's shape and species.

At the age of ten, young children are given the opportunity to receive a Pokemon to help them in working toward their future careers. Some of them train Pokemon to become stronger and use them in battle, these kinds of people are called: Pokemon Trainers!

Our story focuses on two Pokemon Trainers that will change the world into a much safer and better place for all of its inhabitants and Pokemon. Two twin brothers that will become heroes to the world without even trying to be. Their names are Ash and Red Ketchum.

Both Red and Ash live in Pallet Town, which is located in the Kanto Region. The two boys live with their mother, Delia Ketchum, who had raised them all on her own. Their father wasn't around as he was out in the world continuing his own Pokemon journey, but he called them to make sure that the three of them were alright from time to time.

The Ketchum twins loved learning about Pokemon from a very young age and read all kinds of books that had plenty of information about Pokemon. They also loved to watch Pokemon Battles on TV and up close in order to learn about them from watching them in action!

The two boys were very excited for tomorrow, as it was going to be their first day as official Pokémon Trainers!

They were going to receive one of the three Starter Pokémon that are given to trainers to start off their adventures in the Pokémon world. Once the two of them get their Pokémon, they'll travel together as a team in order to show the world just how amazing they are and that they'll become the greatest Pokemon Masters of all time!

"Come on, Genger!"

"You can do it, Nidorina!"

The two boys were watching a match between two Pokémon on their TV that was in their bedroom. This was a match that was in the Pokémon League.

The Pokémon League is a tournament that is held once every year for Pokémon Trainers to compete and battle against each other to see who is the strongest trainer in the region. The more Pokémon Leagues that a trainer wins, the better their chances of becoming a champion or Pokémon Master increases.

In order to compete in a Pokémon League, a trainer needs to battle against a trainer called a Gym Leader at a Pokémon Gym in order to earn a badge, as proof of their victory over the Gym Leader. A trainer needs to battle against seven Gym Leaders and earn seven Gym Badges in order to enter the Pokémon League.

That task is what the Ketchum twins need to accomplish if they want to make it into next year's Kanto Pokémon League, otherwise known as, the Indigo League.

Both Ash and Red were watching the match on TV with pure excitement. However, they were interrupted by their mother's voice calling out to them, "Boys! One more hour of watching TV and then it's bedtime! You two don't want to wake up late and not have any Pokémon to choose from because you overslept!"

Ash answered her, "OK, mom." he called out.

The two boys were just way too excited to go to bed. They couldn't ignore the fact that tomorrow was going to be the day that they get their first Pokémon. It was exciting for any kid their age!

Red felt just as much excitement as Ash, but he was always one to think things through. Red was the first of the twins to be born and was about thirty seconds older than Ash. Because he's the older sibling, he ended up with a more serious personality than Ash, but can be just as excited and energetic as his younger twin. He also liked to plan things out as well, so he then came up with an idea.

Red turned to his younger brother to say what he had in mind, "Hey, Ash, I think if we go to bed now, we'll be able to get up earlier and make it to the lab sooner than the other trainers."

"Why now?! Mom said that we have an hour before bedtime!" replied Ash.

Red just sighed at Ash's stubbornness, "Think about it, Ash. The sooner we fall asleep, the sooner we can get up and the sooner we can get to the lab to choose our starter before anyone else!"

This time, Ash understood what Red was talking about. If they could get to the lab before the other trainers in Pallet Town, then they could get a head start at getting to the first gym before the other trainers even wake up!

"Red you're a genius!" said Ash.

He then turned off the TV and started to get into his pajamas, which were coloured yellow and green.

Red also started to get his sleepwear on as well, which was a simple white t-shirt and blue shorts.

Red then turned off the room's lights, set the alarm clock for about 6:30 am, and climbed into his bunk bed, which was at the bottom, Ash's bunk is on the top.

The Ketchum twins both laid in their beds thinking about tomorrow. They were trying their best to fall asleep, but it was just so hard when they know that the day they've been waiting for was just a few hours away!

"Can you believe it, Red! Tomorrow we'll finally be Pokémon Trainers and get our first Pokémon!" said Ash.

"Yeah! Just think, Ash, you, me, and our Pokémon traveling together across Kanto! It's going to be super awesome!" replied Red with enthusiasm.

The twins then slowly started to fall asleep, they knew that when they wake up they'll be going on an adventure that will change their lives forever. But they had no idea that their adventure was also going to change the Pokémon world as well, and it'll all start in just eleven hours!

There you have it folk!

This was the first rewrite of many for this story. I hope that it was better than the original since that was my goal. I'll be rewriting the next chapter sometime later this year, but you're going to have to be a bit patient about it. I have other stories that I need to work on, not to mention a life outside of writing fanfictions.

I'll be sure to listen to what you all need to say about this chapter and how I can improve future rewrites as well.

Until then, I'll see you all next time!
