Papyrus was walking around the Snowdin forest as he usually did. The path he was taking had a new coat of snow covering any kind of track aside from his own, and a cold breeze blew through his shoulder. To him, this was expected, especially at this time of year. He then stopped to rest for a minute, looking through the twigs, dead shrubs and piles of clumped snow now frozen. Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by a strange noise. It was a hoarse and weak meow, a sound cats usually make. Cats from the surface that is.
"HUH? WHO GOES THERE?" Papyrus asked. He turned around, attempting to locate the sound's origin. When he looked down, he felt his heart melt (if he had one, that is).
A very small kitten was lying on the ground. It was a calico, with tired green eyes and a small pink nose. It mewed to Papyrus as if it was asking for help.
"T-THIS ISN'T RIGHT! A CUTE KITTEN LIKE YOU SHOULD NOT BE OUT IN THE COLD!" Papyrus exclaimed as he picked the cat up. "THANK GOODNESS YOU WERE FOUND BY ME."
The cat curled up in Papyrus' scarf and purred. He walked to his home and placed the kitten on a cushion.
"YOU MUST BE STARVING. HERE, HAVE SOME SPAGHETTI." Papyrus said. He placed down the spaghetti in front of the kitten, and she began to eat. She eventually ate it all and mewed. At that moment, Sans came in.
"'sup bro. oh? You found a cat?" he said, looking at Papyrus.
"YES." Papyrus exclaimed. "AND SHE IS MY PET NOW."
Sans looked at Papyrus.
"first, though i'll let you keep her, just remember she's your responsibility. secondly…how do you know it's a she?" Sans asked.
"I JUST KNOW SANS. I JUST KNOW." Papyrus responded in a bold tone.
"okay then. what are you gonna name her?" Sans asked.
Papyrus thought for a moment then looked at the kitten.
"WELL, SINCE SHE'S GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME…I WILL CALL HER PAPYRUS JUNIOR. PJ, FOR SHORT." Papyrus answered.
PJ hopped onto her new master's shoulder and nuzzled him. She happily mewed as Papyrus chuckled. Sans looked at them and grinned. PJ then licked her master's cheek and simply said,
"Thank you for saving me."
