Scintilla of Doubt

At night, their insecurities made them unsure.

They said 'I love you' at the same time. In the day, when it was different, when she saw him and he saw her…When they could be sure that the other didn't wish for them to be more or less, or anything but themselves.

In the dark, at night, when shadows played on the walls of his room and their insecurities made them unsure, they got tired of wondering.

Entwined, she looked at him and he looked at her. He said 'Bella' and touched her hair, looked into her eyes, and kissed her rosy lips. She whispered 'Sam' and flexed her hand against his muscles, shivered at the safety of his hands, and saw the need in his dark eyes.

In unison they said, "I love you."

And wondered no more.
