Sorry for my bad English.

It make a while since I finished watching Volume 7, and things went better than I expected. The plot, not their situation.

I don't know exactly how to put in words, but the way the plot went makes more sense than the last 3 volumes. It also show the heroes growing as characters, something that was missing from the last volumes. We can see them growing not only as huntsmen but as people even if just a bit.

See again characters from team FNKY also was something to my liking.

When the choices were to be make it, I felt my heart bumping faster, eager to see what they were going to choose. They learn that not every of his allies can think the same way they do, and they may disagree when it comes to how to deal with the situations with both the main characters and the supporting characters choosing to do what they believe was right.

Also how they make the fear get the best in some characters was well made it.

Making it short, I liked the volume 7. I even want to see again when I have time, something that not happened with the last 3 volumes. The following is a personal complain so skip if you want to. I have no intentions of re-watch the volume 4 and 5 ever again. It were such a waste of time and potential that gives me headaches every time I think about the plot holes and the stupidity of the characters.

Not to say that was all sunshines and rainbows. Of course there was a lot of wrong things around in my opnion. Like team RWBY being able to defeat the Ace-Ops, who are the best in Atlas. If they were not holding back or else their defeat was another failure for the sake of the plot, and when they try to do that, it not ends well.

The thing with Penny, I'm with those who think that not make any sense. It was like a mage in Final Fantasy gave is magic powers to a robot. I just don't see how it is possible. And Penny could at least mentioned Winter for the maiden to try trigger her memory.

I also felt that most of the volume was for get everthing ready for the next volume.

JNPR had little to do in the volume and quite frankly, the jokes with Jaune being weak become tired make long time already.

At least, Neo is still good being bad. I'm not a very fan of fictions were she turn to the good side, I like her as a villain.

That's my opinion. If you agree or disagree, it is alright to me.

Enough talk, to the fic!

Ceodore sometimes thinks that his Master wants to kill him.

Both of them were weaponless and in front of two Ursas. Miles easily took care of one of them with his bare hands and ordered to Ceodore do the same.

Miles stared at the flames as he usually does, watching the fire dance among the wood he collected, waiting. After a while, he heard footsteps. He did not engage in battle since they were small footsteps, meaning that was a child walking. He turns his head to see his apprentice, covered in bruises and cuts, but victorious against the grimm, with his bare hands.

-Master, why fight a grimm without my sword if it would be better if I had it?

-Because you can't depend on your weapon all the time. If you become too dependent on your sword, you will be at a disadvantage once you lost it during a battle.

-Couldn't I just sparry against you?

-Do you want me instead of a grimm?

Ceodore stared at his Master for a moment before answer.

-So, what I will face next? Another Ursa? A Beowulf?

Glynda normally deals with Grimms with little effort. That's because is not often that she sees a grimm with the level of a Mortiferum around Beacon. The spider grimm probably was taken from the forest by the White Fang and put in the mines as a distraction as they take everything from their base.

She evokes her barrier to block the continuous jets of webs coming from the spider's mouth until she could see the spider anymore. The barrier disappeared and for Glynda's surprise, the spider grimm was nowhere to be found. Since the Mortiferum was not on either of her sides or in her back, she knew that it could be only in one place. She rolled to the left as the spider came down with its fangs ready to take a bite, but it only eats dirty.

Looking to his prey, it was received with purple projectiles right on its face, making it take some steps back as the shots keep coming. Glynda keeps weaving her crop and shooting against the Mortiferum until the spider leaped back to above and shot webs against Glynda again. Instead of using her barrier, Glynda used her telekinesis to wrap the webs in a ball and when it was big enough, she threw back at the spider grimm. The Mortiferum keep shooting webs even with the ball coming and was hit straight on its face with force enough to make it lose the balance and fall back to the ground.

Glynda then used her telekinesis to cause the rocks above and the pillars to collapse on the grimm, crashing the monster between the stones and pillars. Too much worried with her students, Glynda turns away from the Mortiferum without checking if it really was dead or not. Hearing something behind her, she turns around right in time to jump away from a blast of a stream of yellow liquid.

The stream splashed over the ground in front of Glynda, and the smell of the stream fills the air. The stench hit her nostrils and Glynda clasped a hand over her mouth and nose as she stumbled back.

-Ugh… W-what is going on…? T-this is smells... so strange... -Glynda muttered to herself as she tried to stand still in her shaking legs, but she couldn't.

She fell in her knees with her crop falling just out of reach.

What she smelled was a mild neurotoxin that the spider grimm used as a last resort. It paralyzes its prey, making easy for it to take them down.

With her muscles heavy as dumbbells, Glynda crawled over to her crop hoping to turn the tables, only to hear a hiss above her and raise her head to see the Mortiferum standing above her, and then grabbed the huntress with his hairy legs.

-Ugh... Get... off me...! -She weakly demanded as she struggled to keep it from getting a hold of her, but hadn't time to recover from the poisoning.

Getting a hold of the huntress, the Mortiferum started to rotate her body while spitting a web jet from its mouth, quickly enveloping Glynda in a cocoon of web, covering her body from her head to her ankles.

-Mmmhh! Mmmhh! -She struggled against her prison but couldn't make herself free, she wasn't strong enough.

Comparing her to Yang Xiao Long when it comes to physical strength, Yang would overpower her. Of course, Glynda can kick some humans or faunus, but she would be powerless if she tried to face a grimm barehanded.

Her eyes widened as she saw the Mortiferum opening his fangs ready to take a bite of his now defenseless prey.

She tried to use her semblance but without her crop, her power was reduced dramatically, meaning that her semblance alone was not strong enough to free her from the cocoon in time before the fangs could take a bit of her body.

She could only hope that her aura could handle the force of the attack. If the poison gets in her body, she knew that would be game over for her. The fangs came down and Glynda instinctively closed her eyes and turned her head away, waiting for the bite.

After a second something just flashed in front of her eyes, and the attack never came. Opening her eyes, the grimm was nowhere to be seen, and to her surprise, her co-worker appeared.

-Fhrnandh? -Glynda called him.

-You're all wrapped up in your work, aren't you? -Fernando joked as he ripped the cocoon with his hands. -Are you glaring at me? I feel you are glaring at me.

Of course, she was, not enjoying his joke. With her arms free, she removed the web from her mouth and asked.

-How did you get here? -Glynda asked as she stood but nearly fell on her knees again if Fernando had not caught her.

-Easy there. That poison is very potent even in the form of a stream. To answer your question, I and team CNVL were fighting against some of the members of White Fang when they separated us, trapping me alone with a Deathstalker.

Did they trap Fernando with a grimm? This only makes the possibility stronger.

-They sure have miasma dust somewhere in this mine. -Glynda spoke. -They are doing whatever they can to keep us away. We must hurry up.

-The poison still is affecting you. At least rest for a couple of minutes.

-Our students are alone against the White Fang. I can't rest.

-They are doing fine.

-How can you know?

-You know very well how I know.

Glynda knows that Fernando can feel everything around him, but it not make her stop worrying about her students. Yet, something else was in her mind.

The moment she closed her eyes, the darkness behind her eyelid just for a moment got lighter, as if someone was flashing light in front of her closed eyes. Not to mention the Mortiferum just disappeared after that and she heard no sounds of sword cutting, meaning that Fernando did not use Grimmslayer.

Did Fernando...

The situation was not so bad as Ceodore thought but was not so good either.

After being separated from their teacher, team CNVL was soon surrounded by more members of White Fang, nearly not allowing the team to breathe as they keep coming and coming.

Ceodore was trading sword strikes with three faunus, one with claws, one with an ax, and the last with two daggers. While the numbers were not in his favor, the apprentice was able to fight against his opponents. Moving his sword to the left and right, up and down, above and below, wherever he could to block any coming strike until he could find an opening. Scanning his opponents, he was able to see a weakness in their attack, the one with the daggers was predictable, repeating the movements over and over again, so Ceodore waited patiently, waiting for the one with daggers use the move he was expecting to counter. The Faunus with daggers turned around to give a spin, making his vision away from Ceodore. He took this opportunity to kick the one with the daggers on the back while blocking the ax. The one holding ax got distracted seeing his ally getting knocked out and Ceodore did not waste the opportunity to attack with his sword while holding the wrist the one with claws. The apprentice gave two swings with the sword, hitting both the ones with the ax and the claws. The one with the ax was in his knee and Ceodore knocked him out with a headbutt, and then blocked the claw coming and punched the Faunus' face, knocking him out too.

The one with the daggers look terrified to his allies down and tried to run away, and Ceodore grabbed a rock from the ground and threw against the running faunus, hitting the back of his head and knocking him out too.

He did it. He defeated three opponents at once.

-Master would be so proud. -He spoke to himself watching his three defeated opponents.

The one they were not able to surround was Nora, who sends flying away any faunus who tried to approach her. With crazy YEE HAWs, each faunus who approached her was now in the walls of the cave.

-Who's next? -She asked.

The one who approached was a big one with a hammer much bigger than her's... and soon he was on the wall.

-And they call us animals... -He spoke.

Ren was doing fine on his own, using his skills to counter the violence of each one of his enemies with quick but powerful strikes. His weapon may not be so powerful as his foes, but he makes up for that with pure skill.

And of course, the one who was getting better was Pyrrha, using her semblance she quickly got rid of the numbers of the enemy. Weaponless, they lose the courage to fight and run away, and those who her semblance had no effect, she easily took down with skill worthy of a champion.

-Excellent as always. -Ceodore praised his partner who blushed at his words.

-You are going splendid as well.

A loud boom made further words not possible as they focused on the sound. The whole team followed and fortunately found their fellow team.

-Guys! -Ceodore called.

-Ceodore! -Ruby called back.

The happy reunion did not last long as more members of the White Fang appeared.

-We take those on the left, and your team takes the ones in the right. -Ceodore began.

-And Vale can thank us later. -Ruby concluded.

But before both teams could begin their next onslaught, like an old tale of the sea opening, the whole organization in front of them opened the path to one faunus in particular, one with the hair white as the snow and two wolf ears on the top of her hair.

She calmly walked to both teams with no worry about their situation.

Upon approaching, Blake's eyes widened.

-Just look at that. -Yang began. -We have one volunteer for a beating. -Finishing her sentence, Yang jumps forward ready to pummel the wolf faunus.

-NOOO! -Blake screamed in fear. -YANG! DON'T!

But the blonde was already in range of her opponent. Yang aimed her fist to the masked face to the wolf woman, but her fist went straight, hitting nothing. Yang had only a moment to think about what happened before she felt a hand holding her wrist... and twisted. What comes next was Yang feeling pain on her right shoulder, something poking off her skin as if was trying to leave.

With the surprise gone, she screamed feeling the pain of her dislocated shoulder.

-Did you know that aura can't protect your body from inside damage? -The wolf woman asked, holding Yang's arm. -So if your arm somehow twists, it can't keep your bone on the place, like this.

With another twist, Yang felt now the bone of her elbow breaking with a cracking sound, followed by another scream from her.

Ceodore was about to jump and help her when the goons with the wolf faunus roared and attacked.

-Nora, with me. -Ceodore stated. -Ren, Pyrrha, I feel they will need some help.

-Got it. -Pyrrha said and Ren did not say a word but moved along.

Before the wolf faunus could proceed in twisting Yang's bones, she positioned her blade on her back to block a stab from Weiss.

-I heard what you said, and thank you for the information.

Not expecting a vocal answer, Weiss was ready to block the incoming blade with her rapier. The weight plus the strength made a little hard for her to hold the attack but she was able to. She did a somersault with the grace of a dancer and go to behind the wolf, but she did not expect the faunus to be able to hit her a second before she could land, trusting her sword below her armpit and making Weiss fall face-first on the floor. Weiss rolled to her back and start to crawl away as the wolf faunus swung her swords, trying to cut the heiress.

Weiss's back meets the wall and the wolf was ready to hit her with the first cut, but she turned around and puts Blake in one knee, the cat faunus using both her katana and sheath to hold the blade.

-It has been a while, Belladonna. -The wolf said.

-Ragna. -Blake said between clenching teeth.

Ragna pulled Blake's blades away and kicked her away. With Blake away, Ruby and Pyrrha aimed their guns against the wolf faunus. Both redheads pulled the triggers and for their surprise, Ragna was able to block each shot they made.

-Blake, who is she? -Ruby asked while shooting. -You seemed scared when she appeared.

-Her name is Ragna Rock. -Blake answered. -She could be considered an elite among the White Fang. That's why she should not be underestimated.

-Got it. -Ruby stated.

Besides, Blake did not need to tell her twice after seeing what she did to her sister's arm.

Back to Ragna, she was trading blows with Weiss or would be more precisely say that Weiss was trying to land a strike against the wolf faunus, who dodges and blocked every attack from the rapier.

Using her glyph, she moved in blind speed and aimed to pierce Ragna's chest. But she did not hear Blake's statement so she was confident that she was going to hit her opponent, so imagine her surprise when Ragna merely took a step to the left and hit Weiss on the neck with a lariat.

She frowned while glaring at Ragna while laying on the ground, and was quickly back to her feet while Ranga eyed her poorly.

Ruby took the chance that Ragna was distracted and shot at her while Weiss charged full speed against her. Ragna heard the shot and raised her own blade, not blocking the attack but redirection the bullet against Weiss, who was going after her with her rapier intended to stab.

-Gah! -Weiss flinched as the shot send her crashing on the nearest wall.

-Weiss! -Ruby called as her partner feel on her butt, getting her outfit all dirty.

She focused back on Ragna, shooting more against her, and the wolf woman redirected all the shots to random directions. Weiss recovered from the damage and tried to use her ice against Ragna.

The wolf didn't even see it coming but knew it was coming.

Pressing a button on the handle of her weapon, the blade heated up and with a single swing of her blade, the ice melted. Ragna then moved her head to the left to dodge a kick from Yang, and hold her leg by the ankle.

Ruby makes her move, not wanting more of her sister's bones to be broken. Using her semblance, she charged against the wolf faunus and aimed a slice on her legs, and Ragna pulled Yang so she was between her and Ruby.

Ruby's eyes widened and quickly stopped her attack when her scythe was inches from her sister's back while Yang glared at Ragna. The faunus pay little attention to Yang's red eyes and took her wrist and pulled in a way that not twisted Yang's arm, but made her weapon shot and hit Ruby on the stomach.

Yang heard Ruby's whimper and look behind right in time to Ragna pull the trigger of Ember Celica again. This time Ruby rolled away but as she tried to stand, her own sister came crashing on top of her.

Blake appeared using her clones, moving around Ragna who blocked every strike no matter the direction it coming from. Weiss watched curiously this and wondered.

-It is like she knows where the attacks will come and when will come. -She thought. -How it is possible? -As she wondered, she prepared her gravity dust.

Blake and Ragna were trading attacks with their weapons, with the cat using the best of her semblance to try to overpower the wolf. She moved as fast she could but was not able to land a strike against Ragna, who was getting small cuts on Blake with her attacks. Blake tried to use dust with her clones, leaving a rock with her form behind. Ragna stabbed the copy and instead of push away, she lifted with her blade and threw at Blake, who was too much surprised to react as her own form crashed against her body.

As Blake was throw away, Ruby attacked.

Ragna had the advantage of using two blades, Ruby show to be her match when comes to speed with the way she maneuvered her scythe. Sparks flew around as their blades connected against each other. After some attacks, Weiss finally got the best on Ragna, trapping one of her legs with a gravity glyph.

Ruby didn't waste the opportunity and brought down her scythe.

Blake tried to recover but froze hearing a voice.

-It is the traitor! Get her! -One faunus shout.

She had no other choice than defend herself from them as Ruby went after Ragna.

Ragna blocked the attack but felt the blade on the back of her neck. Ruby pulled the trigger, pulling her scythe back. Ruby expected to Ragna to duck, not lean forward, not only dodging the scythe but letting go of her blades and grabbing her legs. She pulled both Ruby's legs and made her fall back on the floor as she forced her leg to move, getting a piece of the ground with.

Before Ruby could do anything, a loud crack sounded and Ruby screamed with the pain in her ankles.

-You cretin! -Weiss shouted as she went after Ragna.

But she was horned by a bull faunus.

-A Schnee, my lucky day.

-Weiss. -Ruby cried and went to help her, forgetting about her ankles being twisted, and she cried in pain as she tried to move.

The cry was interrupted by Ragna's hand on her neck, holding her down.

-I would worry about my own safety if I was you. -She stated and pointed one of her large blades against Ruby's face.

But she used her blade to block the incoming shots from Ren's guns. As he approached, Ragna left Ruby on the ground and approached him. When they were closer to each other, Ren used the blades of his weapons, which proved to be useless against Ragna who blocked his attacks. He was surprised how fast Ragna could move her blades even them being so large.

He rolled away and open path to Pyrrha, with her sword clashing against Ragna in a way that made the redhead glare straight on the wolf's eyes, emerald meeting crimson.

Ren was back on his feet and was about to help Pyrrha when a strange feeling overcome his senses. As he stared at Pyrrha and Ragna, he felt like they were in their own world, or in an arena completely devoid of any competition.

Pyrrha was feeling the same way as she stared straight at Ragna's eyes. The last time she ever felt like that was the first time she reached the finals in the Mistral Regional Tournament. And so, Pyrrha knew that Ragna was not someone to be taken down easily.

She was the first to make a move, swinging her sword against Ragna who used the handle of her blade to block the blade and she counters attacked with a second blade, and Pyrrha blocked with her shield. She blocked two more blade swingings from Ragna and attacked the faunus, who dodge the strike and swung her blade down, and Pyrrha jumped away to dodge the attack. Ragna followed her and brought one of her blades down and Pyrrha transformed her sword and a spear to block the attack to throw her shield behind Ranga. She used her semblance and the shield came back with full speed against Ragna's back, Pyrrha then kneeled her stomach, but Ragna grabbed her leg, and Pyrrha flew away with a yelp.

Her back crashed against the nearest wall but was able to hold her spear and shield. Her eyes widened seeing Ragna already in front of her, and Pyrrha immediately put her shield to block the non-stop strikes from Ragna. Pyrrha could felt the weight of each strike nearly putting her deeper against the ground. The strikes ceased and Pyrrha had her ankle grabbed and she was once again throw away, this time in the middle of the cave. She quickly recovered and was in her knee waiting for Ragna, who tried to stab the redhead, tried the key world.

Pyrrha parried the blade with her shield and gave a cut with the sword on Ragna's back, but the wolf put her second blade behind to block the cut and spun around to cut Pyrrha's leg, but Pyrrha saw it coming and took her leg away in time using the momentum, she spun and kicked Ragna in the stomach. Ragna flew a few meters before the friction on her feet stopped her move and she immediately rushed after Pyrrha who prepared her defense against the wolf faunus.

Ragna brought the blade above her and Pyrrha responded raising her shield and in case Ragna aimed to her stomach, she got a leg back prepared to dodge. What the beautiful champion did not expect was to when Ragna brought down her blade, instead of strike, she grabbed Pyrrha's shield and with a small push, she smacked the redhead with her own defense. Dazed from the unexpected strike, Pyrrha could not defend or dodge the headbutt that comes next. She stumbled back once again and was brought down once again, this time by a sweep kick.

Instinctively she rolled away and put her weapon in the gun form. She opens fire against the wolf faunus, who runs to the left to right dodging the shots until she was once again in front of Pyrrha. The redhead was forced to use her sword again once Ragna was in close range again. Sparks flew in the air as both blades collided.

While both were locked in battle, the rest of CNVL and even the White Fang were watching like was some TV show. A chew alerted everyone and all of them turn to Fido, who had a bucket full popcorn.

-Impressive. -The dog faunus spoke with his mouth full before swallowing the popcorn. -Isn't anyone who can match Ragna in skill.

-You are not supposed to packing everything leave while we keep them busy? -A reptilian faunus asked.

Fido stared at his colleagues for a moment, then his focus was on team RWBY, and went silent for a moment. After some seconds hearing only the sword clashing from Pyrrha and Ragna, Fido starts to walk backward, still eating popcorn, and slowly trying to get away from the scene.

-From what we heard, he must be important! -Ruby stated. -Let's get him!

-FIDO! YOU IDIOT! -Every White Fang goon shouted and tried to stop team RWBY, which were only Ruby and Weiss.

Blake decides to stay with Yang, who was clenching her teeth as Ceodore was healing her broken arm and shoulders. Wounds were easy for him to heal, but broken bones were another history.

-Hey, don't need to babysit me. -Yang started to Blake. -You have a score to settle with the dog boy, right?

-Yang, I can't leave you alone like this.

-Don't worry. I have an apprentice here with me.

Both Blake and Ceodore were surprised by her statement, knowing about what she thinks about Ceodore. The apprentice did not expect her to trust him so quickly, even after what they talked about in the dance. Blake was hesitant for a moment before give a firm nod, and help Ruby to get Fido. Besides, Yang was right, she had a score to settle with the dog for letting Roman escape.

-Get back here! -Ruby shouts.

-What are you gonna do if I do? -Fido asked.

-Arrest you, of course!

-So my answer is no!

-You are under arrest!

-No, I'm not.

-Yes, you are!

-No, I'm not!

-Yes, you are!

-No, I'm not!

-Stop in the name of the law!

-You stop in the name of the law!

-I follow the law!

-But you are not stopping!

The worst part is that they were running in circles.

End of the chapter.

I guess this is enough for now. It is only to keep this story uploaded.

Fido is back to some jokes, at least until the next chapter. Pyrrha had meet her match among the White Fang, something I never see before so I decide to give a try. The professors are separated from their student to make things more harder for them, even if just a bit-WAIT A SECOND!

...

...

...

Did I make them separate for the sake of the plot? Just to make the battle take long than it would be with the professors around? What I just mentioned in the beginning? And why I did? I'm everything that I despise in a story? I said that this never works, but I just did.

Who I am now? How am I going to discover? I need to think about it deeply. For now, I will let this chapter as it is now.

See you next time!
