Hi guys! Just adding a quick 'bow' to this story. I also went back and did some editing to remove as many of the typos as I could and to just generally make for easier reading. Hugs!.

Epilogue

"I still say you are five maybe even six years younger than you used to be."

"Not for long at the rate you age me, if anything this just brings to me to where I would have been if I'd never met you in the first place."

"Come on, you know you would have been bored without me." Neal chuckled. "We all need a little mischief in our lives and who better to provide it?"

"I never should have told you that Loki thing."

"I think deep down I've always known."

Refusing to engage in the conversation further Peter just kept a sharp eye out for the money counterfeiting suspect that they had been tipped would be in the shopping area of the Lower East Side today. They had plenty of evidence for an arrest but he had all but disappeared. With such a vague tip it wasn't very promising that they'd even find him, but they had to try. Peter was more than happy to be back on a normal cases after all the madness a month ago, but it was clear that Neal wasn't as thrilled as he started to lag behind.

"Neal, keep up."

"Walking on two legs is such a pain." Neal complained. "Seriously, this feels so inefficient now. Can't we just…"

"No." Peter cut off Neal's request.

"Hey, isn't that Harris?" Neal said about twice as loud as he needed to as he suddenly spotted their suspect.

Hearing his name from twenty feet away Harris looked over his shoulder startled. Seeing the men in suits he didn't bother asking any questions and he took off at a dead run. Peter glared at Neal murderously.

"What?" Neal asked in mock innocents.

"You did that on purpose." Peter accused.

"I did." Neal admitted without any remorse.

Instead of even trying to run after the fleeing suspect Neal just held his hand out to Peter with an excited grin. Peter contemplated the offer with obvious reservations.

"Come on, Peter, you know you want to." Neal chuckled.

"Want is not the right word."

Peter sighed in defeated frustration as he reached out and took Neal's hand. With the Source Dragon banished neither one of the pair had any real control over their talents separately. However having both been soaked in the golden pool if they worked as a team they could pull just enough magic together to succeed. Neal didn't really need Peter to take his hand to make it work but since they both needed to concentrate to make it work it acted as good sign that they were in agreement.

Switching into the massive black wolf wasn't as easy as it had been before but with Peter's help Neal slipped back into the mythical canine skin. Enjoying the power that came with the padded feet Neal didn't take off right away even after Peter climbed onto his back. Harris had left his scent in a clear blaze and knowing he wasn't going to lose him Neal didn't mind giving him a little head start to keep the chase going a little longer.

"Neal." Peter grumbled knowing exactly what Neal was doing. "Enough stalling."

'You're no fun.'

"I'm letting you do this, aren't I?"

'Good point.'

"Just go get him."

'I believe the term is 'fetch'.' Neal chuckled.

Rolling his eyes at Neal Peter thumped him in the flank with his heels to get his tail in gear. Bunching up his muscles Neal took off with an explosion of power and speed. Weaving through the streets unnoticed thanks to Peter's magical camouflage Neal followed Harris' scent with ease. Coming to a lonely back ally Harris was still moving quickly but confident that he had more than enough of a head start and that he had lost the Agent along the way he had slowed down to a jog.

Had Neal and Peter been on human feet Harris would have been safe considering there wouldn't have been any good way to guess which direction he'd gone in the back streets. However able to follow the man by smell rather than sight Neal could have tracked him for miles with ease. Racing up the alley on padded feet Neal made almost no noise as he closed in on his prey. Slowing down to a trot Neal came right up behind Harris. He could have tackled the man himself but he let Peter do the actual take down just in case his instincts got the better of him. His teeth still ached in this form and it did take a little effort to keep from going feral.

Jumping down off Neal's back Peter surprised Harris and skillfully brought him down to the ground. Squawking in surprise Harris did little to resist arrest as Peter gave him the usual speech. Having returned to human form once Peter was no longer focused on keeping him a wolf Neal walked out in front of the man Peter was handcuffing.

"Wha…Ho…how the *hell* did you catch up to me?!"

Neal slipped his hands into his pockets with a lupine smile as he looked down at Harris.

"Magic."
