Proposal at Sunset

Author's Note: (jumps and waves) Hello, everyone! My name is Yuri! It's been a very long time since I wrote my last Sailor Moon fanfic. But this is a very special one. It's a birthday gift for my very good friend, Dawn of Chaos. Here's to you, Leah-chan~!

Standing on a bridge by the river, the happy couple watch the sun go down with smiles on their faces. Their date this afternoon had been wonderful. They walked around the city together, bought some new clothes, made some wishes by the fountain and then ate dinner together. Rei Hino is happy to be with her beloved Usagi Tsukino.

"Hey, Rei-chan," Usagi says, breaking the silence.

"Yes?"

"Did I ever tell you how much I love you~?"

The dark haired girl giggles. "Silly, you said that 7 times already."

"I know. I just felt like saying it again~!" The energetic blonde leans in to kiss her girlfriend's cheek.

"Oh, you~!" Rei decides to return the favor.

Both of them look at the sunset for a few more minutes. The sun is slowly coming down when Rei steals glances at the blonde. She's so cute! she thinks to herself. I can't resist looking at her, even if she's annoying and barely does her school studies. But I love her very much. That's all that matters.

"Rei-chan," Usagi says again.

"Yes?"

"Time sure has gone by, hasn't it?"

Rei nods. "Yes, it has. The other girls had moved on and even traveled to study abroad, right? Minako had become an idol, Makoto is a professional chef on a cooking show and Ami is studying abroad in America. I hope they live a wonderful life."

Usagi turns and smiles. "Sure they will~! Both of us support them, you know? So, there's nothing to worry about, okay?"

The dark haired girl nods. "I guess you're right." Even though she misses them, she still gets the chance to talk to them over the phone. They had graduated from college a few months ago and their friends decided to live a new life. Rei and Usagi, on the other hand, continued dating and had bought an apartment, so they could live together. And she's happy overall.

"The sunset's beautiful, isn't it?" Rei says.

"Mm-hmm," Usagi replies. "But I got something even more wonderful than this."

"What do you mean?"

The blonde winks at her as she turns her back and digs into her bag. After a few seconds, she turns around with a smile on her face and gently takes her girlfriend's hand. Rei gasps softly as she sees the blonde drop down to one knee while holding out a small blue box.

"We've been together ever since high school," Usagi begins. "You may be short-tempered and psychic, but you're also very caring to those around you, including me. You cared for me the most when I needed comfort, and when I needed help. You were always there for me, Rei-chan. And I'm so happy to be your girlfriend. I'm very happy to be by your side, even when we're living together." She opens the box, revealing a 24 karate ring, sparkling in front of her. "So, I will ask you this: Rei Hino, will you marry me?"

Happy tears fall from the dark haired girl's eyes while cupping her hand to her mouth. She nods in response.

"Yes!" she says. "Of course, I will marry you! I love you so much!"

Usagi giggles as she slips the ring onto Rei's ring finger and shortly after that, Rei hugs her girlfriend and kisses her on the lips. The blonde immediately returns it and the two pull away after about 10 seconds.

"I love you, Rei Hino," Usagi whispers. "Forever and always."

"And I love you, Usagi Tsukino," Rei whispers back. "My cute, little bunny."
