Re-activating the Heart

(Guess who's back)

After the large blast was finished, Jenny, Brad and Tucker were just shocked at what they saw. A large beam of light which may have seem like an attack, but in reality...

"Um guys, what just happened?" asked Tuck in surprise.

"That was… some kind of signal." Responded Jenny.

"Are you sure?" asked Brad.

"Well judging from the fact that I just fought a bunch of cyclops looking things, I'm guessing they were looking for this. And right now, we've just alerted some… thing. Come on, we're taking this and heading home!" said Jenny as she transformed her hands into giant mechanical claws to grab the tiny rocket. Brad and Tuck jumped on Jenny's back as they prepared for lift off and proceeded to return to her house.

Wakemen Residence

Nora was in her lab, assessing the large beam of light which her computers detected. To most people, it was your average large beam of light blasted into the air. In a world of robot heroes, aliens and world ending threats, this was nothing new to anyone. But in reality, it was actually a heavily encrypted message. Her computer managed to trace its signal and she was able to download its data.

"Incredible, this data is encrypted in such a method I've never seen before but I'm sure I can crack it in no time!" said Nora in excitement as she cracked her fingers. Developing new technology was always a fun challenge but nothing excited her more than solving a riddle.

Later, Jenny brought the rocket to her home with Brad and Tuck. Moving in, they saw Nora working her hardest to try and decrypt the message but sadly, it didn't look like must progress had been made.

"Mom! We've found something in the forest! We think it might've sent some kind of signal which… mom?"

The three teens walked closer and noticed Nora was furiously typing on her computer to decrypt the code to the best of her ability. But from what three teens saw; it didn't really look like she was getting anywhere.

"BLAST this confounded signal! I spent hours upon hours attempting to decrypt this message and it's all futile! HONESTLY, who made this?! It as if they WANTED us to not decrypt it!" yelled Nora through her frustration.

"(I'm pretty sure that signal went off just 5 minutes ago.)" whispered Tuck to Brad.

"Mom… are you okay?"

"Oh… forgive me XJ-9. I just cannot seem to fix this signal!" yelled Nora in anger as she slammed her hands on the keyboard. However, her attention was swayed by a giant transport system in the form of a rocket which Jenny brought home.

"Maybe we'll have better luck with this thing. Where did you find this?" asked Nora as she switched her attention to the rocket.

"I found it in the forest. Oddly enough, it was a couple of miles away from where I found Robot-boy. Oh, that and also some cyclops looking yeti dudes. They were after it too." Answered Jenny as she got a look at the rocket as well.

"Cyclops yetis? Now that is strange, perhaps there is more to this than we anticipated." Said Nora as she continued her inspection of the device.

Nora immediately moved in closer and began inspecting the rocket from the inside and she realised that it was the perfect size to transport Robot-boy.

"Incredible, a tiny spacecraft! Undoubtedly, it must've involved Robot-boy!"

"Speaking of… where is he?" asked Jenny. Nora simply turned to Jenny and smiled as she pointed upwards.

Robot-boy was on the roof of their home, staring into the sunset. Being a Robot, he didn't have to fear going blind unlike humans, but something was off. Robot-Boy sat down, but he didn't know anything. He looked down the streets to see a few young kids playing ball with each other, they laughed, cried, played and they had fun. But Robot-boy didn't understand, he saw all these emotions and action they were displaying but he didn't know what they meant.

Being activated a few hours ago, Robot-boy was plunged into a crazy world. He saw panic (Tuck), tears (Brad) and fear (Nora) from the humans before him, but he wasn't sure what to do. However, it was when his attention turned to Jenny on the screen, crying in pain (A/N: not sure if this works since she's a robot but meh, let's roll with it). He didn't know what it was, something triggered inside of him. He felt like he heard a command within him, telling him to help. But he didn't where it came from, or even why it happened. So many questions, yet no answer or where to get them from.

"Hey, there you are." Said a cheery voice. Robot-boy turned his attention to Jenny who flew up to the roof and sat next to him.

"What're you doing here?" asked Jenny.

"Robot-boy… lost." Responded Robot boy which confused Jenny since she didn't know if meant it on a literal sense or it had another meaning.

"What do you mean?"

"Where… Robot-boy from? Why… he here? No… understand." As he began sulking, Jenny sat closer to him and hugged him. Robot boy's head rose, and he turned to Jenny since he knew what the action was but he never understood what it meant.

"Hug? Why hug… Robot-boy?"

"Jeez, you're really new to this human thing aren't you… just like how I was. Guess you and I are more in common than I thought. A hug is something you give someone to show care and affection." Replied Jenny with a hint of embarrassment.

"A… ffec…tion?" Robot-boy titled his head in confusion.

"Yeah, it's to show that you care for someone. And Robot-boy, I care for you. After the way you saved me from the Clusters, I really…" Jenny had little blue blushes on her cheeks, but she managed to look away on time.

"I'm sorry, I forgot what I was gonna say. But my point is, we're here for you and I want to thank you."

"Thank…?" asked Robot-boy again. Feeling like Jenny wasn't getting anywhere, she believed that actions spoke louder than words.

While Robot-boy didn't understand what she was getting at but then he watched as Jenny slowly approached him and gave him a little kiss on his head. After a second, she slowly backed away and saw little Robot-boy's cute expression of confusion. Normally she would feel dejected, but she wasn't surprised. Since Robot-boy was activated a few hours ago, she knew he had a lot to learn and understand. But she was happy that she could convey her feelings in a method he could hopefully understand.

"What… that?" asked-Robot Boy as he slowly rubbed the spot which Jenny kissed. She gently laughed at his question and placed her hand on his head.

"That is a kiss, something you do to people you like. On a higher level, like more than like, like… like-like." Explained Jenny but it didn't help, Robot boy was still clueless as ever.

"A-anyways… come on Robot-Boy, we've got something you may want to see." Said Jenny as she tried to hide her blushing face.

Both of them started flying down but as they were descending, Robot-boy didn't know it, but he had a little smile. Without even realising it, he felt something. He didn't know how or what it was, but he could feel something beating.

Upon entering the lab once again, Nora had completely given up on decrypting on the data and moved on towards the rocket. Brad and Tuck were being extremely helpful by sitting in the corner and being asleep.

"Hey mom, any luck?" asked Jenny.

"I'm afraid not dear. This device does not seem to contain anything useful in our search to find answers about Robot-boy. And there is little chance that I will have any progress with this data." Replied Nora with frustration. Robot-boy turned towards the ship and began walking towards it, giving it a slight touch.

"Robot-boy, do you recognise this device? We found it near your location, along side some unwanted company." Said Jenny. Robot-boy just continued to inspect the device but he shook his head because he had no idea of the device as well.

"Robot-boy… no remember." Answered Robot-boy causing Jenny and Nora to slump in disappointment. They were hoping that he would be able to give some insight of the device.

"Well, I guess I'll try and run through the data using my system. Hopefully, I'll find something." Said Jenny as she went over to the computer and inserted her wiring through her fingers.

"Very well XJ-9, I shall continue my inspection of this rocket." Replied Nora as she continued her search.

Robot-boy turned his attention towards the computer and made his way towards it. Upon seeing the decryption percentage, it was currently stuck at 0.1%. He changed his finger into a miniature USB device, and he attached it to the computer. Upon having access to Nora's computer, he was able to connect to the computer and began collecting data from the signal.

The computer system began to rapidly going through several changes causing Jenny to freak out because her systems were being affected as well. Tuck and Brad immediately woke up to Jenny screaming.

"Gak! What's going on?" questioned Brad in a panic.

"Something's happening to the system!" exclaimed Nora. She immediately ran to Jenny and tried to pull her out, Brad and Tuck followed after her and did their best to pull her away from the computer. After a while, everyone turned to Robot-boy and saw him decrypting the code. Jenny immediately disconnected from the computer and flew back with the rest of the gang.

"Ugh… what happened?" Asked Jenny as she reeled in her wiring back into her fingers. Everyone turned their attention to the progression of the screen jumped and saw how it went to 100%. However, after a while the screen went blank.

"What is he doing?" asked Nora as she went to the screen.

"I-I'm not sure! He just started working on the computer and… the message, it got decrypted!" Answered Jenny. The screen was still blank but moments later, a voice started coming from the monitor.

"Hel… el… ello… can anyo… me?" Upon hearing the words from the screen, Nora immediately started to configure the system and tried to clear the signal. After a while, the screen began to clear and a figure began to appear. An elderly man with white hair and glasses, wearing a white lab coat, brown pants and yellow gloves.

"Hello? Is anyone there? Tommy?" asked the elderly man. After the image became, Nora couldn't believe who it was in the screen.

"It can't be! Is that really you, Moshimo?" asked Nora.

"Huh? Hello? To whom am I speaking to?" asked the elderly man.

"It's me! We used to go to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) together." Answered Nora.

"Wait a moment, that voice… Nora, is that you?" Dr Moshimo asked as he finally began to get a visual of everyone in the room through Robot-boy's eyes.

"Moshimo! I cannot believe it has been so long my old friend"

"Nora! My dear, the years have been so kind to you because you look absolutely lovely." Complimented Moshimo as he finally managed to get a good look at Nora. The teens in the room weren't exactly sure how to react to the compliments since they couldn't actually believe them either.

"Oh, stop it you. You look just as good fine as you did back in college." Replied Nora through a blush on her face due to the compliments.

"Haha, I thank you dearly. However, forgive me for changing the subject but I must ask, how did you manage to decrypt my message? More importantly, how did you find it?" asked Dr Moshimo.

"We didn't. It was Robot-boy." Answered Jenny as she pointed at Robot-boy which surprised the old doctor.

"What? Robot-boy has been activated?" asked Moshimo in a panic.

"Yeah but it was through an accident. We found him in the forest and we brought him to our lab to repair but then he suddenly activated and saved us all." Answered Nora. Just then, Tuck ran to the table and picked up the watch that he accidentally pressed on from before.

"Ooh ooh! Actually, it wasn't an accident. I pressed on this little doo hickey and it made the little guy bigger." Answered Tuck as he showed off the watch in hand.

"Ah yes, that would be the activation watch I sent along with Robot-boy on my transport device. It seems as though it was intercepted by someone. Hm, I wonder. Robot-boy, please display update process of L0-V3 update." Requested Moshimo causing Robot-boy's to shift from a camera to a percentage screen.

"Update… 78%... paused" replied Robot boy.

"It seems as I have feared. Due to this incident, Robot-boy has not fully completed his software update." Said Moshimo in a worried tone. Everybody else in the room however wasn't sure what he was referring to however.

"What does this mean?" asked Nora.

"Robot-boy has many configurations and technological advances which could be applied to combat and his surroundings. He needs them to be fully functional and complete." Answered Moshimo as he displayed a miniatured diagram of Robot-boy and his schematics.

"Well, how can he complete it?" asked Brad.

"Normally the transport should have finished updating him as he was travelling to his destination but it seems as though the transport has taken too much damage." Explained Moshimo as he saw the state of the transport rocket.

"So, what do we do instead?" asked Nora.

"I'm afraid there's only one way to complete the update now."

"What're you suggesting?"

"I must re-insert the data and update him personally."

"Wait, why not just send the date to Mrs Wakemen and let her do it?" suggested Brad. However, Moshimo slowly shook his head in response.

"I'm afraid it is too risky. I have made many enemies who are watching my every move, I must stay discreet. This program is the cumulation of all my life's work and I cannot allow it to fall into the wrong hands." Replied Moshimo which caused Nora gasp in surprise.

"(It can't be! Has he finally perfected it?!)" thought Nora.

"Your enemies wouldn't happen to have a K sign on their chest, do they? And have weird cyclops henchmen?" asked Jenny which surprised Moshimo.

"Ah yes, that would be correct. That is one of my foes, Dr Otomo Kamikazi. Ever since the completion of some of my past prototypes, he has been aiming to get his hands-on Robot-boy with the aim of creating a robot army to overthrow the world. And with Robot-boy, he might just be able to accomplish it." Explained Moshimo which shook up the whole room in fear. They all saw what Robot-Boy could accomplish by himself, if there was an army of him under a mad scientist, then the world would fall apart.

"Kamikazi? That old crazy scientist is still after your work?" asked Nora in frustration as she seemed to recognise him as well.

"Yes, I'm afraid so. For so many years, he has stolen a good number of my technology but failed to use them, to understand them. And it seems as though he caught wind of Robot-boy and is attempting to steal him as well." Answered Moshimo.

"Well then, he must be stopped!" exclaimed Nora.

"Indeed, but to do so, I must first finish installing the program into Robot-Boy. And to do this, I must ask for your assistance." Said Moshimo. Everybody in the room turned to Moshimo in confusion.

"I must ask that you bring him back to me." Requested Moshimo as he bowed to everyone in the room.

To the teens it wasn't a big deal but Nora was absolutely in shocked mode. Moshimo was a doctor you could not simply go to see in an office, he had been hidden from the world for years but to see him personally, it was a rare opportunity in itself. But for Nora, it was finally an opportunity to see her old friend.

"Truly? Do you mean it?" asked Nora gleefully which surprised the other teens since they never saw her so excited before.

"Yes, I'm afraid so. I apologise that I must ask you to do something so dangerous for me after finally seeing you again but the situation has become quite dire, and I desperately require your assistance."

"No problem sir, we'd be more than happy to help you out. Right, mom?" said Jenny.

"Indeed, what are friends for?" said Nora.

"I truly do not deserve this but I am thankful nonetheless." Replied Moshimo as he began to type in his system.

"So how do we get to you?" asked Jenny.

"I will send you coordinates which can help you reach to where I am. But my friends, please be careful on your journey. My home is one that I do not wish to be known to anyone, however, I will be more than happy to welcome you all."

"Of course, you have nothing to worry about. With XJ-9, we should be able to cloak ourselves and reach you at… GOOD HEAVENS!" exclaimed Nora in surprise which surprised everyone in the entire room.

"What is it mom?" asked Jenny.

"Moshimo… how did you ever survive in such a location?"

"Haha, you know just as I do it takes a lot to keep this old man down. But a little heat will never stop me."

"In that case, with these co-ordinates, we will make haste to your location as soon as we can." Said Nora.

"Woohoo! Alright! Road trip!" exclaimed Tuck and Brad in a joyous tone which caused Nora to cover her face in embarrassment.

"Very well my friends, I will preparations for your arrival. Please be careful on your journey and do prevent Robot-Boy from going into combat. For both his and your sake." Said Moshimo before cancelling the connection of the call.

Robot-Boy simply reverted back to normal and had a look around to see everyone in a joyous mood. Nora was happy to see her old colleague from all those years ago, Jenny was glad that there was someone who could help Robot-boy and finally Brad and Tuck because… road trip.

"What… happened?" asked Robot-Boy in confusion. Jenny went over to the little robot and happily picked him up before doing a spin.

"Isn't it great Robot-Boy, we're going to take you home!" responded Jenny.

"Home?" asked Robot-boy because he wasn't sure if he even had a home but only time would tell.

Chapter End

Alright folks, super short chapter and that's how I like to keep this series. Unlike my other works, I like to keep these as a mini story works where I only do minimal. Think of my other like a full-blown movie script per episode while this is just a tv show script. Anyways, horrible analogy aside, I hope you enjoyed this rather light hearted chapter in comparison to the old ones. I swear there is going to be a whole slew of action in the next chapter so those of you disappointed, just keep a look out for the next one. Anyways, until then, I've said what I said and I'll be leaving now.

2020 hasn't been the best so far and we're all currently doing our best to survive not just the virus itself but also out boredom in the quarantine. So hopefully, I can help by writing more and updating this story for those of you who have been waiting. Once again, if you're still reading this, I would like to thank you whole heartedly and hope to see you for future chapters to come. Until then, please stay safe, wash your hands and stay home, have a good morning/day/evening/night
