Unraveling Illusions
Knowing glares
Brawls and fights
Taunts exchanged
Laughter and cries
.
He was my comrade
A ray of hope
An idiot, of course
And never better than me
.
We were the same
In the choices we made
In the battles we fought
In the passion we shared
.
And yet so different
.
Bright eyes shining
Grinning ear to ear
An outstretched arm
Wiping off tears
.
He was a blessing in my life of despair
.
He screamed and I stared
She held herself, sobbing
He roared and I gaped
Her armor reappeared
.
I watched as the beautiful wings spanned the sky
As scales covered him, matching his fiery eyes
They screamed but I stayed frozen in place
Fixated on the horror unfolding
.
I looked at the stars, amused by the cruel fate
As he made me bleed
Just the late night musings of an angsty sleepless author.
