A/N Thanks for being patient! I literally love the reviews and I fixed chapter 17 so thank you guys so much 3
School had ended for the week three hours ago, but the sun still cast a radiant glow around the neighborhood. Leaves from the maple outside Sabrina's windows rustled in the subtle breeze, and a few tiny clouds sprinkled the sky.
Throwing her backpack on her bed, Sabrina pulled out her phone and flopped down on the covers. The Friday had been mostly uneventful. Elec had avoided her, sporting two black eyes. Thalia had cut the friendship crap and was back to being a complete pain. Puck was annoying and had created a fake fart machine that was so gross, the teachers had to evacuate the classrooms when he used it. Pretty typical.
Scrolling through her texts, Sabrina noticed one from Alice telling her about a party that night. Apparently, the boys' soccer team wanted to celebrate their most recent victory at Will's house. And, the second apparently, people had wanted Sabrina there.
Sabrina quickly replied she would be there, probably catching a ride from Puck since he was on the team. Alice had responded just as fast with a thumbs up and a heart emoji.
Walking to her closet, Sabrina picked out a pair of ripped black skinny jeans and a low cut, light blue wrap sweater that would look good with her eyes. She quickly brushed her hair out and reapplied some makeup.
Walking downstairs to get a quick snack, Sabrina found her parents, happy, sitting in the living room hand in hand. The blonde smiled, watching her parents talking quietly and sipping coffee. Veronica noticed her daughter first.
"Sabrina, honey, you look beautiful. Going somewhere?"
"Yeah, Mom. I'm going to go to Will's party tonight. I think it's with the girls' and boys' soccer teams." The girl leaned in conspiratorially. "The girl's team is much better though. Just wait until our season really gets going."
Henry laughed. "That's what I like to hear. You do look beautiful, Sabrina. So grown-up."
Sabrina rolled her eyes. "You guys are such saps." She grabbed a granola bar and went back upstairs, walking across the hall to pound on Puck's door. When there was no answer, she let herself in.
"Puck? Where are you?" Sabrina shouted. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open as she walked further in. The room shifted and changed before her eyes. No longer a normal room, she was now in what looked like a forest. The carpet transformed into plush, green grass. Wildflowers grew sporadically, and a few trees stretched up to an endless blue sky. There were old prank gear and plans and other items scattered haphazardly about. The girl even noticed some of Puck's clothes hanging on the branches of the nearest tree.
"Puck? Trickster King? Get your butt over here!" The girl ran her hands over the trunk of the nearest tree, feeling the moss soft under her fingertips. How could this room have been here the whole time without her knowing it?
Walking further in, she wondered how far the room went. She saw a trampoline in the middle of a relatively clear space and walked over to it, feeling like she was dreaming.
When she got close enough to look over the top of the trampoline, she smirked when she saw Puck sleeping, one arm thrown across his chest and the other under his head. He was barefoot, but still wearing his jeans. Sabrina flushed red when she realized he wasn't wearing a shirt. Her eyes traveled down across his impressive chest, down to the light dusting of dark blonde hair leading down…
"Done being a creeper yet?" Sabrina's eyes snapped to Puck's face, her flush increasing to an alarming level. He was lying with his head towards her, so his face was upside down. His green eyes bore into hers, a heated emerald gaze that made Sabrina's heart pound.
"You wish. I just need to catch a ride with you to Will's party tonight," Sabrina shot back, willing her heart to stop beating so freaking fast.
Puck sat up, wings popping out. With no shirt, he had never looked more ethereal than now. His blond curls fell messily over his forehead, his eyes peering through thick lashes and his infuriating smirk perfectly white and mischievous. Why did he get to wake up looking like that? Sabrina knew for a fact that when she woke up in the morning she looked like a drowned cat.
"You're room is-"
"Enchanted. Yeah. It's pretty awesome, right? Ever since I was little, I can only fall asleep under the sky. Otherwise, I feel trapped."
Sabrina looked up thoughtfully. "That's funny, most people feel safer inside, not out in the open outside."
Puck grinned, his wings carrying him to let his feet land deftly behind Sabrina, bare chest now at Sabrina's back. "I'm not most people," he whispered, voice low in her ear. Her breath hitched. He wasn't touching her, but he was close enough that the blonde could feel his body heat against her back, his breath hot against her neck.
Sabrina cleared her throat, whirling around. "Can you put on a shirt or something? And you are going to Will's right? Alice invited me, or she said that I was invited, and I mean I assumed since you were on the team that you were going, so I told her I could get a ride from you-"
Puck laughed, stepping back from the girl and running a lazy hand through his hair. . "Aww you're babbling. How annoying. I get that I'm beautiful and all, but you have to control yourself, Ri."
"Puck!" Sabrina said, exasperated.
"Ok, ok, yeah. I'm going." The fairy flew up over to the tree branch where his green hoodie was hanging before landing on his feet in front of Sabrina.
Sabrina was forced to look up because of his height. Crossing her arms, she waited for Puck to pull his hoodie on.
"So can you take me?" she asked impatiently.
"I can… but you're not wearing that."
Sabrina felt her face go red again, this time from anger. "Why? I like this outfit. This is what I want to wear."
Puck shook his head. "No. It's too revealing. If you want to go to the party you have to find something else.
Sabrina drew herself to her full height. "Who do you think you are, my dad? My actual dad, by the way, already said I look nice. It's a sweater and jeans, Puck. Get over yourself. You have no say in what I wear."
Puck's eyes darkened. "Sabrina, you're not wearing that. Put on one of those baggy college sweatshirts you love and I'll take you, ok?"
Sabrina glared at him. "I'll get a ride from Alice, you jerk."
Puck groaned. "Do what you want, but if you show up wearing that I am going to make you wear my hoodie. After I rub it in the dirt and cover it with a few other signature scents."
Sabrina whirled around, marching back to her room. "You try that, Puck, and it'll be the last thing you do."
"Sweetheart, I've been doing what I want for the last few thousand years. One teenage girl is definitely not going to change that."
Slamming the door to her room, Sabrina called Alice and explained what happened.
"Aww, Brina that's so cute!" Alice squealed.
"What? No, he's being a jerk, Alice! I can't take it. He thinks he can control everything!"
"He didn't want anyone else looking at you, hon! It's adorable and you guys need to get over yourselves and hook up already! Thalia would just about drop dead."
"Well that would be a positive, but what I need to do is get back at him."
"Can I come over? I can drive you to the party… and I have a really amazing idea for getting back at him."
Sabrina grinned. "Yes! Come over! I want to hear this plan."
"It'll be a surprise. I'll be over in five."
The girls hung up and Sabrina waited anxiously for Alice to text her that she was here.
Daphne came into Sabrina's room with her new friend, Red. They were both wearing PJs.
"Hey, Sabrina," Daphne said, flopping onto her big sister's bed with Red.
"Hey, Daph. What're you guys doing tonight?"
Red smiled. "We are watching the Princess Diaries movies and eating ice cream and popcorn ALL NIGHT!"
Sabrina laughed at how excited they were. "That sounds like so much fun. Next time, I'm in too. Tonight I'm going to a party with my friend Alice."
Daphne nodded. "Alice in Wonderland. What about Puck?"
Sabrina explained what had transpired, and how Alice had said she had some sort of plan to get back at the fairy boy.
"Ooooh, can we stay and see what the plan is?" Daphne asked.
"You sure you want to postpone the movie watching for a little? I have no idea what the plan is or how long it will take."
Daphne and Red said they wanted to find out about the plan more than watch the movies, so Sabrina agreed to let them stay in her room while she and Alice got ready.
When Alice came up to Sabrina's room, she was lugging a suspicious looking plastic bag behind her.
"Umm, what is that?" Sabrina asked, laughing as she let her pretty blonde friend in. "Also, you look amazing!"
Alice smiled, twirling in her purple crop top and black flare skirt that hit mid-thigh. "Thanks, Brina. And this," she said, flourishing her hands over the bag, "is the plan."
Sabrina cautiously unzipped the bag, pulling out a tight black miniskirt and a see-through red top. Alice also held up a black push up bra for underneath the top. "Oh. My. God."
"I figured since Puck was saying your sweater and jeans were 'inappropriate,' you should teach him the difference. And you are listening to him. He told you to change, so he gets what he wants, right?"
Sabrina grinned. "You are an evil mastermind. I am definitely enlisting your help in the future."
"Thank you, milady," Alic giggled.
"Now put it on!" Daphne exclaimed excitedly.
Sabrina went into her bathroom and changed into the outfit, raising her eyebrows when she looked into the mirror. Puck would definitely not approve, but this would teach him a lesson. Her bra and stomach were on full display under the flimsy red top, and the skirt stretched tight over her hips and butt to stop at the tops of her thighs. Sabrina pulled her hair up into a high pony that reached down to her waist and stepped back into her bedroom.
"Damn, I am too good," Alice said, eyes popping out. "Brina, you have amazing legs!"
"You look amazing, Brina," Daphne said, thrusting a pair of high-heeled black leather ankle boots at her sister. "These go perfectly, and you should straighten your ponytail and let us do your makeup."
Alice laughed. "I love your sister, Sabrina. You are going to love the look on Puck's face when you walk in so hot you should be hosed down!"
Sabrina laughed. "Hopefully, if it all works out he will learn his lesson. He's not the boss of me."
"This'll make him see that for sure."
About an hour later, Sabrina and Alice were on their way out, and Sabrina could barely recognize herself in the mirror.
Sabrina got in the front seat of Alice's light blue car, and they sang along with the radio on the way to Will's. It was a ten minute drive, and when they got there was hardly any room for parking. They ended up finding a spot a block away, and walked the five minutes to the house. Music was blaring and lots of people were streaming in and out of the house. Sabrina recognized a few familiar faces, but mostly strangers she assumed went to her school, upper class men by the looks of it.
"Hey, Sabrina. You look smoking hot, by the way," a voice called out behind Sabrina.
Sabrina turned to find James. "Thanks, James. You seen Puck anywhere?"
James tsked his tongue. "You should forget him. Honestly, any guy would be lucky to have you, and I bet they'd treat you better than he does."
Sabrina laughed. "It's kinda hard to forget someone you live with. But anyway, we're not together, definitely not like that."
James smiled. "I forgot you guys were like step-siblings or some shit. But if you're not together, then I should call you sometime."
"Maybe you should," she responded with a smile before Alice grabbed her arm and dragged her off in the other direction.
"This is huge!" Alice whispered to Sabrina.
"Yeah, I know! I don't know if this outfit was such a good idea."
Alice shook her head. "Stay strong. You look hot. Maybe you'll meet someone here and make Puck even more jealous."
"I told you, Puck's not jealous! He's just bossy and annoying," Sabrina shot back.
Alice raised an eyebrow. "Well, bossy and annoying is coming your way, and he doesn't look happy." She backed away from Sabrina. "You know, I should really catch up with Tara and Mark. I'll see you later," Alice said, turning and disappearing.
Sabrina turned in time to be yanked around the corner by a furious Puck. He dragged her into the nearest room and slammed the door. It was a closet with a few shelves in the back and barely enough room for the two of them. Sabrina reached behind Puck and switched on the light.
"Puck, what the hell?" Sabrina shouted.
Puck reached behind her and turned the lights off again. There was still enough light to see as his green eyes trailed over her body, like liquid jade. "What the hell are you wearing?"
Sabrina smirked, drawing herself up to her full height. "I thought you wanted me to change, Puck. I'm just following orders, fairy boy."
Puck put his hands on either side of her head, caging her in. "That's not what I meant, Sabrina. It's hard enough keeping Elec and… Why were you talking to James?" Puck's voice was low and dangerous. Sabrina had never felt scared of Puck, but his tone just sent delicious chills through her body like electric pulses.
"What I wear and who I talk to are none of your business. You may be the Trickster King, but I am not one of your subjects," Sabrina said, thrusting her chin out.
Puck pulled her waist against his, crushing her body to his. "Sabrina Grimm, I think I hate you."
Sabrina stared right back, blue eyes into green. "I hate you more, Puck Goodfellow."
Their bodies pulling towards each other like a magnet, Sabrina felt like she was going to explode. No one infuriated her more than Puck, and his body against hers did things to her she refused to think about. At that moment, someone opened the door to their closet.
It was Anna, a girl on Sabrina's team. "This isn't the bathroom…sorry you guys, didn't mean to interrupt," Anna squealed, a gleeful smile lighting her features.
Sabrina stormed out after her friend. "Alice, wait, you didn't interrupt, Puck's just…" Alice had already gone though, disappearing into the throng of teens. Sabrina turned around to see Puck taking his soccer jersey off. "Puck, what're you doing?"
Puck pulled his jersey over her head, pushing her arms through the holes. It all but swallowed her small frame, the hem reaching past her skirt. "I am making sure that no one gets to see you wearing that."
Sabrina looked up at him, blue eyes streaked with sincere wonder. "Why?"
Puck gently undid her ponytail, watching the blonde hair spilling over her shoulders. "I don't know."
Sabrina watched curiously as he raked his hands through his hair, a rare serious expression twisting his features.
"My whole existence, I've never thought anything through. I never wanted to grow older than twelve, and I never wanted to experience life. Now… ever since I first saw you with Daphne in New York, I've been slowly growing. Not by choice, and not on purpose. But I know it's because of you, Sabrina. So, you're going to have to deal with this. I know I can't control you, and that's something I love about you. But it scares me, too."
Sabrina's head was spinning… something he loves about her? Does he… no, he can't. Not even five minutes ago they were swearing they hated each other. But she knew that she didn't hate him, not when she loved the feeling of being enveloped in his jersey, still warm from his body and smelling like the sky he fell asleep under each night.
"Let's, um, let's get back to the party," Sabrina said, annoyed her voice came out whispering.
Puck raised an eyebrow. "Whatever you say, Brina. I have some mischief to make, anyways."
Puck opened the door and strolled out, Sabrina on his heels. He went straight to the speakers and put on a new song. "Let's PARTYYY!" Puck shouted. The crowd of drunk teenagers shrieked, dancing and getting impossibly louder. Sabrina rolled her eyes, watching Puck's dance moves as he tried to evade Thalia and stay in the center of the room. He was definitely wild… but maybe there was something to be said for that, after all.
