Chapter 8: An awakening
Kensi pov
With his hand on my throat and his threatening knife I walked backwards with him and seeing the complete despair in Deeks eyes, I find my brain searching for something, anything to comfort him and almost yell the first thing that comes to mind.
"it's okay. You'll get me back."
As he pulled me into the van, I felt and stab in the neck and I was pulled into the darkness. Just before I fell into the abyss, I saw his eyes, black and deep like a vortex.

I watch helplessly as the van pulls away, her words swirling around my mind as I remember the last time she said them words to me. When the Russians took her over some black book filled with cold war secrets. I got her out of it that time. But what if this time I couldn't.
I shook my head and tried to get some clarity. I needed to get my head in the game if I was to save my partner. I had no idea how but I was going to rescue her- that I was certain of.

I stir to find myself being shook around. I sit up to try to take in my surroundings and was surprised to find myself staring into those black pools again, this time rimmed with a hint of anger. The man spoke no words but instead raised his fist and punches me so hard I was sure he fractured my cheek bone. I was surprised at how sluggish I still felt when I remembered the needle and surmised that I had been drugged and didn't have a clue what by.
As I allowed this revelation to wash over me, the man pulled out his black, steel case and pulled from inside a syringe. The liquid within was a startling electric blue and I slowly felt myself starting to panic. Whatever was in that solution was not gonna be good and definitely should not be going into the body.
But no matter how hard I willed my body to fight back and prevent this from happening, I couldn't get my limbs to cooperate. As the needle slipped into my vein and the substance coursed into my veins, all I could thin about was how familiar the man seemed. Had I met him before?
Just as I fell into unconciousness, I remembered and I had never afraid of what was to come...
