Intervention
"Roger? Kids? I'm home!" Andy called.
No response.
She shrugged, put the groceries on the kitchen counter, walked into the living room-and stood in the doorway.
There, seated in different places around the living room, was her entire family. Her husband Roger, and her children Peter, Paige, and Jason. They all wore the same somber expression on their faces.
Roger stood up, and began to speak.
"Andrea, this is a family intervention."
Andy blinked. "What do you mean?"
"There are several personality traits you need to change," Peter added.
"What do you mean 'personality traits'? I'm already perfect! I'm already nice to you all!"
Roger turned to Paige. "Sweetheart, run down the list."
Paige stood up and pulled out a sheet of paper. "Item one: you need to stop limiting what we watch and what we play."
"I don't want to expose you kids to anything violent until you're old enough," Andy defended, standing firm. "It might become an addiction at your ages."
"Like how you were addicted to one of my 'rated M' games?" Jason asked.
Andy remained silent.
"And last I checked, The Sopranos was given an MA rating, yet you rewatch it every other day."
Andy still remained silent.
"Item two: your cooking. Stop using so many 'health' food recipes, and cook hot dogs and slighty high-carb meals once in a while," Paige continued.
"I-I feed you those health foods because I want you to be healthy," And said, her voice quavering. "And because I'd like your father to lose a little weight."
Paige laughed. "Oh please. You're the parent that gave me my sweet tooth."
"And the last time you asked me to go to the gym, I suggested you come along to help. Your response was, and I quote, 'What-do you think I'm fat?!'" Roger added.
Andy quivered a little.
"Item three: you have had many hobbies that have led to addiction of said hobbies," Paige said, continuing down the list.
"I-I have not!" Andy shouted slightly, starting to crack.
"Let's see-Beanie Babies, Titanic, Nintendogs, Jason's game, as mentioned before..." Peter said, counting off the addictions on his fingers.
"Item number four: the thermostat," Paige finished.
Andy exploded. "I keep it that low to save money!"
"You'd rather your family freeze to death than lose money?" Roger asked quietly.
Andy froze.
Roger walked up to her. "Your hypocrisy has led to way too many instances of family endangerment. It seems like you care about your own values rather than those you claim to love. So we've given you an ultimatum."
He walked up to Andy, a scowl on his face.
"Either you change your habits, or you move out. It's that simple."

"Iiiit's thaaat siiiiiimple...iiiit's thaaat siiiiiimple.."
Andy bolted out of bed screaming, nearly barreling over Jason. Miraculously, she didn't seem to notice him.
He heard a click, signalling that the bathroom door had been locked, followed by sobbing.
Hmm, maybe his plan had worked too well.
Roger got up groggily and noticed him. "Jason, what did you do to your mother?" he asked.
Jason smiled. "Hopefully, changed her personality for the better."

After that day, the Fox family noticed a change in Andy.
Gone were the whole-grain, "healthy" meals; in fact, the first meal she had cooked up after that was a nice, juicy steak with real salt.
During winter, hot drinks never froze over. When her children played M-rated co-op games, she often joined with them. When Jason watched Game of Thrones, she'd ignore it.
Andrea Fox had changed for the better. Everyone knew that Jason had something to do with it, but they didn't know how he had changed her.
He preferred to keep it that way.

Yay! My first Foxtrot fanfic! Because this site is severely lacking in them. Also, I wanted to adress Andy's hypocrisy. Hopefully one day she'll change for the better.
R&R, and I'll see you next time!
