So, I have good news and bad news. Good news, my exam was delayed for one month due to a few reasons. Bad news, my exam was delayed by one month. That means that I, somehow, managed to write this chapter overnight (I had written like four thousand words in six days). The other 13.000 thousand words all came when my boss said I was one of the two medics who were overworking and made sure to grant us two days of paid leave.

Funny story actually, I was kind of stuck on how to write beyond a certain part of this (I had all planned but the execution escaped from me) and I went to play some Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to relax. As soon as I start the game, I remembered why I had stopped. I was about to be hit by a lightning strike and a guardian's death bean. The shock was so great that it made the writer's block go away. I sat on my chair and spend the entire day writing.

Enough about my weird stories, let's get down to business, shall we? I want to thank everyone who reviewed, favorited, and followed this story. You guys are the real heroes in keeping this story alive. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Also, thanks for wishing me luck on my exam! I intend to do my best and, as soon as this goes to the website, I am back to studying.

I want to thank Cahaines for the incredible suggestions on apps to better my work and Dewa1990 for the thoughts and Ideas. Hoping to see more of you people in the following chapters.

Now, to the reviews:

Tyrant Overlord Killia: Thank you for the consideration and time to see if your theory was correct!

Chernabog90: Akito is being prepared for something big.

Dewa1990: Thank you! Stay safe as well! The harem list is on the works, just not for this chapter.

Hnh058513: Hey, thank you! Hope everything goes well for you, whatever you are doing.

OBSERVER01: Naoto YES!

Imperator's slave: I hope to have surprised you in a positive way. I will try to keep you surprised.

Guest: I will never tire of your reviews. Thank you! I hope to keep you entertained. Happy to know you liked my O.C! She still has a long way to go. Thanks and keep safe as well!

Crazy9087: Interesting theories, I do wonder if any of them are correct?

Star's Keyblade4114: I sprinkled some clues along the story about his identity. Yup, Miss Luana has to explain a lot of things. A lot.

Templarsith: Thank you and I hope to keep you entertained.

Cahaines: I will try to correct it in the future. By the way, I send you a PM. If you can, check it.

PendragonZx: Thank you very much. As this is my first story, I try to improve every day.

Jon (Guest): Hey Jon, welcomed to the fandom, happy to make it a pleasing experience. About Lelouch, believe when I say that goody two shoes Lelouch may be hiding something. Finally, FFN and AO3 are huge, I am sure you will find plenty to your liking. It has something for everybody.

Ewertondragon10: So much to see, so little time.

god of all: Have another!

Thank you, everyone! To see how much you liked this first story of mine truly humbles me.

I know this author's note is huge already, but let me say a few things.

FIRST: I would like to recommend two stories: Code Geass: The Prepared Rebellion V2 by SeerKing (everything he writes is great so you should check it.). And His Britannia by Imperator's slave (His other stories are also pretty good, so be sure to check it.)

SECOND: I have stated this on the description, but let me give a final warning: This is an AU story, so expect OOC and differences. I will be making changes and after this chapter, they will only grow. If you do like the characters to be as close to the original source material and you have come this far… THIS is the point to stop.

THIRD: Notes about the next chapter will be at the author's notes at the end.

Finally, flames will be ignored. The world is oversaturated with pain and rage. People come here to have a good time, be it writing or reading. Do not take what little peace they can have away from them.

Sorry about the long text.

This chapter language had the helping hand of my friend who decided to go with the codename: NunnaWillDestroyYou. Thank you for taking the time.

As before, stay safe out there. I am hoping you all remain well during these turbulent times.

To the story, you go…

Disclaimer: I don't own Code Geass.

As Kallen watched her brother deliver the blow that would certainly slice her Guren in half, killing her in the process, she remained motionless. The redhead didn't even try to move. Ohgi screams for her to dodge fell on deaf ears. She believed herself to be stuck on a nightmare. Yes, that had to be it, after all, there was no way her brother would be alive, trying to kill her.

Kallen Kozuki's life would have ended at that moment if not for one thing: A memory.

"Kallen! You have to live!" Those words weren't orders from Zero. They weren't even something the power of Geass had forced upon her, but a wish, one that had seemed to come from Lelouch's very soul.

And that had, somehow, lit a fire on the woman.

She moved her Knightmare by pure instinct on the last possible second as the Leodegrance cut the place where she stood a second ago.

'Big brother Naoto would have killed me if I hadn't moved.' She thought as she tried to hold herself from puking. 'My only brother would have killed me without thinking twice.'

"B-Big brother Naoto….why?" her voice was devoid of any emotion as she still refused to believe in the reality before her.

The Black Knightmare flexed its golden claw-like hands menacingly; as if angry she had escaped its reach. "Little sister, what do you mean? I am a Knight of The Rounds, protecting the people of Britannia from one of their aggressors. it is as simple as that."

His words were so cold that Kallen flinched, hurt by such a statement.

"Let's do this, Kallen!" The Leodegrance was soon upon her once again, one of its claws fully charged with radiation energy, as it moved to rip one of the Guren's arms.

This time, however, she was ready and activated the shield, blocking the attack as she tried desperately to create some distance between them.

"Running away won't save you!" Naoto rushed, trying to hit with another radiation wave which was countered by Kallen's wave.

When the influx of energies collided, fresh tears fell from the redhead's face. Confusion, anguish, and, even, despair threatened to consume her as reality finally settled in.

What she was experiencing was no nightmare, this was the truth. She couldn't even try and lie to herself that the enemy was only someone pretending to be her beloved brother. Kallen knew, without a doubt, that she was facing Naoto Kozuki, her blood told her so.

"Naoto stop! She is your sister! Do you even care? Do you know how much Kallen grieved after you died?" Ohgi's voice echoed through their battlefield, the aftershocks of the clash between radiation waves still echoing through the aerial space.

"Don't interfere Ohgi this is a matter between brother and sister which means you have no right to meddle." His Knightmare launched its left arm, its aim being of the Guren's legs.

At this point, he learned how skillful his sister was as she not only reflected the arm with her dagger but immediately launched a radiation beam at him. However, the attack missed, hitting far to his left.

"If that had hit me…" while he could have defended himself with his second arm, Naoto still was surprised by her reaction time.

"Big Brother! Please stop this! We are a family! We shouldn't be doing this!" Kallen was begging.

"Yes, you are correct. We are a family. And it is my responsibility, as your brother, to make sure you pay for your mistakes." Naoto snarled at her.

"What are you talking about?"

"You have committed a grave sin, Kallen and That demands compensation."

"I don't understand!"

"You don't need to understand. all that you need to do is die!"

"Are you talking about Lelouch? Naoto, are you under the effect of his Geass? Wake up! He is a demon!" Ohgi barked at him.

"Geass? Of course not! I am doing this out of my own free will! Not that someone who is a traitor himself like you would understand." Ohgi flinched and took a step back. "I have heard what you have done. You sold out the one who had made our little group prosper!"

"I have done what was necessary to save Japan! Wasn't that your dream as well?"

"Yes, that is my dream! To see the world free of tyranny, not just Japan! However, I would never believe the words of the cunning snake of Britannia."

"And what were we supposed to do then? Talk and fall under the control of his Geass?" Ohgi heard Naoto sigh in disappointment.

"It seems I made a mistake when I made you my second in command. You are beyond saving Ohgi. I am done trying to talk sense into you, she was right."

"Naoto! Listen to -" He was interrupted as the Knight of Four finally cut the call.

"Now Kallen, it is just the two of us as it was supposed to be from the beginning." The Leodegranc's arms opened and began to spin, creating, alongside the radiation energy wave, something similar to Percival's drill lance. "Now, let's see how you deal with this!"

He launched himself for the kill, but as he did, his sister managed to fall back, dodging the first attack. Their little clash lasted only for a few seconds until Kallen decided to try to block one of the drills with her M.V.S knife.

That proved to be a fatal mistake as the drill not only destroyed the weapon but continued its way, completely piercing her Knightmare's left arm.

Startled by such an occurrence, she tried to fall back, only for the black machine to grab her on her right arm.

"Did you know that is not very safe to mix two forms of energy?" The Leodegrance began to emit its radiation energy, blowing the Guren right arm as well.

Kallen tried to kick its face, breaking any visuals Naoto might have. However, that proved to be ineffective as he had his drill-ready and had cut the leg in half.

"I can't win!" Kallen said in a hollow voice.

"Yes, you can't. This is goodbye Kallen." Energy began to emit from its right arm as Naoto moved to grab the Guren's torso so he could blow the entire machine.

"Stop this right now!" Only for him to be stopped by a slash harken that managed to distract him from dealing the finishing blow.

His sensors soon picked two Knightmares moving towards them, with at least ten following them at a distance.

"The Black Knights? They sure have taken their time." Naoto moved back, allowing for the new arrivals to stand in front of the Guren, protecting it.

"Cease all hostilities." Xing Ke said from his Shen Hu, spinning its wrists slash harkens.

"Any more acts of violence will not be tolerated!" Tohdoh said from his Zangetsu. The ten Akatsuki's pointed their handguns or bazookas toward him.

"Heh, you threaten me, but it was one from your side who began the hostilities." He pointed at Kallen. "It was the Red Lotus who attacked ships under my responsibility. How else was I supposed to act?

"We understand the circumstances, our diplomats have already contacted your country and have begun to negotiate. Until it is decided, no further aggressions shall be permitted." Xing Ke tried to pacify the situation.

"You say that, but you don't lower your weapons. How am I supposed to take that if not as a declaration of war?" The Leodregance began to charge energy into its arms.

"Do you think you can take all of us?" Tohdoh raised his sword, ready to strike.

"Why don't we find out?" Naoto created the two drill lances.

"Lord Shadow, please wait!" They were surprised by a new voice. The redhead turned around and saw Oz, Shirley, Rivalz, and twenty Vincent Ward approaching them.

"I thought I told you to remain with the airships! Why are you here?"

"Direct orders from Lady Marrybell and Lady Euphemia. The airships are a safe distance away with the Glinda Knights securing the perimeter." Shirley said as she prepared her drill lance.

"In that case, there is not much I can do but accept it." He sighed and turned to the Black Knights. "Now, it seems the situation has turned in my favor."

The stalemate remained for a while, neither side wanting to move first until everyone received a call on an open channel.

They were greeted by the face of Lelouch Vi Britannia. "All troops stand down. No acts of aggression will be permitted from this point on. My Knights are to immediately return to their primary mission as escorts."

While everyone looked like they wanted to complain, no one dared to raise a word against his orders.

"Yes, Your Majesty." The troops moved as one, returning to the airships.

"In regards to you, Black Knights, the U.F.N wants your immediate return to Japan. Your actions of today almost cost the loss of an incalculable number of lives. I have accepted your temporary suspension from duty as punishment enough." He showed a feral grin. "After all, there is no need for my Knights to dirty their hands and we are all trying to achieve peace correct?"

Tohdoh wanted to spit at him and Xing Ke managed to remain stoic as ever. Nevertheless, Kallen was staring at The Emperor without blinking.

"Lelouch…." She managed to whisper.

The man in question heard and turned, appearing to be looking straight into her eyes. He seemed to want to say something, but, in the end, he decided not to.

"I am sure your superiors have much to say to you, so I will leave you to resolve your internal disputes. I do hope we can meet on much better terms next time." And with that, the call ended.

It was only when the Britannia airships and its Knightmares were gone from their line of sight, that the troops managed to relax.

"Kozuki, what were you thinking? You almost started an all-out war and the Black Knights would be seen as the enemies of the world." When Xing Ke got no answer, he sighed in defeat. "If you will not talk, prepare for a stern judgment when we are back at the Ikaruga."

"I am disappointed in you, Kozuki, your actions have disgraced us, it will take everything we have done to regain the public's trust. Tohdoh said, a scowl present on his face.

As they began their return, with the remains of the Guren being carried by four Akatsuki, the ace of the Black Knights didn't utter a word for the duration of the trip. The reason for that was that she was watching, on loop, a video Naoto had sent her.

"Kallen, if you are seeing this, I want you to know one thing: It was never my intention to kill you, but, as you are now, you will only cause more strife with your hesitations." Her brother looked around and sighed. "When you reach the lowest you can reach, when you have freed yourself of all of your doubts, come to Britannia."

"Me, mother, and …. I can't believe I am going to say this but Father will also be there waiting for you." He scowled as if angry. "Lelouch will also be waiting for you. He may have not said, but it is clear, to me at least, that he needs you. However, only come if you are ready to throw everything away. The world is about to change little sister and it is up to you to choose if want to be on the right side. I hope, from the bottom of my heart, you make the right choice. I have missed you, my little sister."

She replayed the video for the fourth time. Her mother, father, brother, even Lelouch were waiting for her. Nevertheless, her life had always been for Japan's sake. Could she do it? Better yet, did she have a choice?

To choose between her actual family, alongside the man who had guided her to glory, and the family she had made with her friends in the Black Knights was an impossible conundrum.

As she watched the video again, Kallen finally allowed herself to cry, her mind and heart clashing furiously.

To choose a side would, certainly, incur the wrath of the other.

The Pacific Ocean - Logres-class Battleship "Maiden of Hope" - Hangar 01 - Meanwhile.

When The Leodegrance docked and the engineers rushed to make the procedures for its recharge, the rest of the personnel watched, star-eyed, the Knight of Four without his mask for the first time.

While the man talked about his scars and the woman complimented his face, the man in question rushed to his private room. It was only he had locked the door and made sure he was alone that Naoto allowed himself a breath of relief.

Immediately, he picked the phone hidden on his mask and called the only number on it.

"I must admit, that was quite the show." the melodious voice of Luana came through. "For a moment, I was almost convinced you wanted to kill your sister. Bravo Mr. Naoto. Bravo!"

"Next time, don't ask such impossible things of me. I am sure that if it wasn't for her emotional state and the fact she didn't want to hurt me, she could have defeated me in two seconds." Naoto said, pride for Kallen evident in his voice. "Also, only you to come with such diabolical plans. Brother versus sister? It doesn't get much worse than that."

She laughed as he threw himself at the couch.

"Oh please, don't flatter me. His Majesty is capable of much worse than whatever I could think." He could almost imagine the smile she had right now. "By the way, Emperor Lelouch almost had a heart attack when he heard Kallen was facing you."

"And what he thought about it?" Nato scowled.

"Don't start with that super protective brother thing you have going on." She lectured him. "You have been away for years, which means you don't have the right for that. Also, I will not tolerate any disrespect towards His Majesty, even if it is from you."

"She is still my little sister, I have the right. We are family."

"Yes, in the end, you are a family. Not that I would understand. My family has never been what you could call…. Functional as you well know." The sadness was evident in her voice. "Nevertheless, about your question, His Majesty reacted as I have expected: He did everything in his power to end the conflict. Didn't want his little ace to get hurt most probably.

Naoto could feel the venom on her last words, especially the word ace.

"He must have been furious with you as well. Since he now knows who I am." He changed the subject.

"Furious? He almost looked ready to kill me. However, he has calmed down since then as he insists that, as soon as the relief mission arrives on Pendragon, I will be answering every single question he has, willing or not."

"So I guess that means the jig is up. No more help from the other side?" Naoto snickered.

"Yes, but even if I had any to spare. The moment Sayoko Shinozaki tells him the truth, there won't be a force on this universe capable of stopping him." Luana was certainly not finding it funny as her voice was now cold as ice. "I am predicting that, in forty-eight hours, everything will come to light."

"So just enough time for me and everyone else to land on Pendragon. Can you be sure nothing will happen to you?" he rose from the sofa, worry clear on his face.

"I may have lost its influence, but, since C.C has found the Gate, I may be able to buy just enough time with what little scraps remain. If the worst comes to pass, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve." the woman laughed a little. "Enough about me, how did little miss Kozuki react to the entire thing?"

"Again, just as you predicted, she was more lost than I have ever seen her." Naoto stiffened as if uncomfortable. "Was all of that necessary? I am grateful that we managed to get my mom but…"

"Are you questioning me again? Yes Naoto, it was. Kallen is too loyal to her little Black Knights, she needs to be broken, shown how low they can get, so she can move to this side without a chance of her betraying us."

"How can you be so sure that she will do exactly as you say?"

"I have broken people stronger than her multiple times. I know how her kinds think: Break her, take away what "truths" she may hold, and offer her some comfort. She will come running to our lap."

"I would thank you if you didn't speak that way about my sister." Naoto closed his fist in anger.

"And I would be grateful if you remembered who owes who between us. In truth, you should thank me, I am making sure that your sister is welcomed with open arms when she does come."

"I am grateful Luana…"

"As you should. Anyway, this has already taken too long. I have to rush for the final adjustments. Make sure everything goes right on your end, not a word of Miss Sayoko survival must reach the Emperor until I am done." And with that, she hung up.

Naoto, however, kept staring at the screen for a long while before finally managing to calm down.

When he was thinking of taking a bath, someone knocked on his door.

"Lord Shadow? I am sorry for disturbing you, my lord. Following your orders, I am here to inform you that the patient Sayoko Shinozaki has finally stabilized and Lord Cardemondre and Lady Fenette wish to see her. How shall I deal with them?" a soldier asked from beyond the door.

With a shake of his head, Naoto answered, affirming he would talk with them himself and proceeded to leave the room.

"No rest for the wicked."

Britannia Mainland - Imperial Capital of Pendragon - Imperial Palace - Exelica's gardens - Meanwhile.

"This has been one crisis averted I suppose." Lelouch Vi Britannia sighed as he sat on the stairs that led to a gazebo, staring at the doves swim peacefully at the lake, two horses stood near the water, drinking from it.

"If by crisis you mean starting another world war…. We can safely say that you dodged a big one." C.C stood by his side, her eyes watching the sky. "But are you sure it wouldn't be better to announce to the world what the Black Knights did? Do you still have a soft spot for them my warlock?

"As if my witch. They will pay ten times the damage they have caused me." He smiled, already deciding what he would do. "For now, however, it would be best to, let's say, show how friendly the White Emperor can be."

C.C snorted at that, clearly amused.

"Please, the only reason you are keeping this pacifist act of yours is to make sure the public is at your side. The second you have their trust, I have no doubt you will be back to your usual ways. I mean, with what you have prepared for Europia, if it would come to light, people would begin to call you Demon Emperor"

"You do know me too well. The public is necessary for my gentle world. However, to try and reach my goal with only words and negotiations would be foolish. I will remold this planet to my liking, they will love who I wish them to love and they will hate who I wish them to hate." He clasped his hand. "They will submit to me or perish."

"Now that is the man I have made a contract with..." C.C stood up. "Even if you have to face your friends and former companions?"

"Even then, for the world Nunnally wanted, I will crush even my past."

"Even if it is Kallen?" That had managed to silence him. He had no doubt the redhead probably hated him now. To not only take her mother from the ace but force her to face her brother, even if he had no idea who Shadow was at the time.

"If she does come to stand in my way, I will do what I must." his words, however, didn't sound so strong this time.

Lelouch then felt the warm embrace of his lover, who began to brush his hair with her fingers.

"And if that does come to pass, I will be by your side. Just as we swore on our new contract." Her words were nothing but a whisper, but the affectionate message had been conveyed.

They remained like that for a few seconds, before C.C broke the hug.

"By the way, we have searched under the palace and, as you wanted, no one died."

"Anything of interest to report?" He smirked at her comment.

"Aside from the gate, just one thing…." she handed him a few papers. "They are still trying to make sense from it, but it is something called Project Euliya."

"I see…." Lelouch quickly went over them. There wasn't much to go on, only the date the project had started and the name of the personnel involved. He knew the name Euliya from somewhere, but he couldn't recall no matter how hard he tried.

He suddenly stopped when he noticed one name in particular.

Sporting a feral grin, he showed the name to C.C

"Hey, isn't that…" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"You are correct." His predatory smile grew bigger.

"Oh, you sly devil. I can already see what you want to do." C.C smiled when she realized his plans.

Lelouch then quickly went over the rest of the names and returned the papers.

"Make sure to keep this a secret for now. We can use this to the fullest later on." He stood up. "I am certain this information will cause an irreversible amount of damage."

"Changing the subject… what about Luana?" For the first time in a long while, Lelouch could sense fear in her voice.

His Knight of One had been acting suspiciously ever since Euphie and Marry had departed for Japan. She began to avoid him where before she would not leave his side unless ordered. The guards that stood by the area her room was located said they had seen her leaving in the middle of the night only to return at the break of dawn. Somehow, she still managed to fulfill her tasks perfectly and look stunning while doing it.

"Don't you think it is about time you question her?" C.C asked as Lelouch felt a quick burst of pain coming from his head. It was so swift, even the immortal didn't notice.

"Not yet, but as soon as the relief mission return, we will be getting our answers. Can I ask that you keep an eye on her for the next day or so? Just enough time for everyone to arrive."

"Fine, fine, not that I have much to do anyway. That will cost you though." She smirked at him.

"This is something that could compromise my entire plan and you want a reward for it?" When her expression didn't change, he sighed in defeat. "Fine, you may buy more of your pizza plushies or whatever they are called."

"It has been a pleasure doing business with you." She mockingly bowed at him. "I will be going now."

When she began to leave, Lelouch called upon her one final time.

"Cera be careful. Luana is dangerous. I will keep her by my side so she doesn't suspect much, but keep your guard up."

"Don't you worry about me. This witch still knows plenty of tricks." And with these words, she mounted her horse and rode away.

He chuckled at that. Indeed, Luana was the one who should be worried. C.C may not look like it, but she was an apex predator when she wanted to be.

Sensing he had wasted enough time resting when he saw Monica approaching him with a carriage, He mounted his horse.

"Your Majesty, Grand Duke Velaines, and his convoy have just entered the Royal Palace. How would you like to proceed?" She bowed to him.

"He arrived just when I had wished for him to arrive. Make sure he and his escorts are treated with respect. When they are rested, send them to the upper gardens, I will be waiting for them alongside you, Luana and Jeremiah. Also, call Anya to the throne room as I wish to offer congratulations on her excellent job.

"Your Majesty, you won't be there to greet them?"

"No, while his reasons could be justified, if I were to greet him now, I would appear to forgive the Grand Duke for his delay. No, I will make him wait for a little."

"If that is your command, I will follow it."

"By the way, there will be no need for a carriage. I want to go to the stables by myself. I will see you there." And with that he rode, leaving a distressed Knight of Nine there as she ordered the conductor to follow him.

Unknown to her, Lelouch had also gone alone to think. To think about who Euphie and Marry were bringing with them

'Nina, Milly, and Ruben. It seems I still have some unfinished business with my past.' He thought as he made the horse go faster. 'Whatever it is, I will face it. I have to make the world Nunnally wanted to see no matter what.'

Europia United Territory - Poland - City of Varsovia - E.U Headquarters - Meeting Room - 17:00.

The E.U had once been a real power which made sure the rest of the world knew that. Unfortunately, after the death of General Gene Smilas, the territory of the said union had vastly been reduced.

From Portugal to Germany, the land had been taken from the people. Falling to Britannia's control. Their territories in Africa had surrendered, being split between the newly formed U.F.N and, once again, Britannia.

Their territories now consisted of only the territories of a few countries: Denmark, Estonia, Letonia, Latvia, and Lithuania had resisted the assault and managed to stay firm.

Belarus, Ukraine, Moldavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, and Bosnia had taken quite a beating but managed to fight back and kept their provinces.

Finally, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czechia, and Austria had repelled their invaders, but were in critical condition and had no way to repel the Britannia army that stood dangerously close to the borders.

That and the fact their enemies were getting stronger by the day as the spies reported that recruitment had tripled since the new Emperor rose to power were a few of the bombs General Mendell had dropped on Leila Breisgau triumphant return to the front lines. Truth be told, they didn't even have enough mood to commemorate.

As soon as they had said their goodbyes to the gypsy troop and General Mendell escorts came to guide them, Leila had been assaulted by the amount of information she had missed during her time away. The situation was bad, like really bad.

When she, Ayano, Yukiya, Ryo, and Ashley managed to reach the headquarters, they were welcomed by her old companions, with Ashley jumping on his team and her friend Anna coming to hug her in tears. Sophie and her husband, alongside the rest of the team smiled at the beautiful scenery.

The joy of reunion was short-lived though when the rest found out Akito was missing. Leila had then told everything that had happened on that fated day: Their fight, The warning from the gypsy, the forest, the Vercingetorix, Akito's scream for them to stay back, all of it.

By the end of it, the mood was so bad that everyone asked to be excused for a while. When they made it back, it was their turn to fill the gaps on how bad the situation was.

Easy to say, Leila didn't manage to sleep a wink that night, but it was better than the nightmares she had been receiving recently: The Knight of One laughing at her as she took Akito away, only to suddenly come back and slaughter them all with that cursed golden machine.

That brought them to their current situation, sitting around a world map as they discussed tactics and Akito's location.

"He isn't in Europe, that we can be sure. There is no way she left Akito where we could rescue him easily." Leila said as she crossed the entire region. "Nor he is in Africa, same reason as I have just stated. The U.F.N is something we can't even consider."

"That leaves only…" Anna adjusted her glasses.

"Britannia, its mainland or its European counterpart, and I think we can cross that as well."

"Why? I mean she could have taken him as an offer to Euro Britannia." Ashley said as he forced a sandwich down his throat.

"Since you have forgotten, let me remind you: The Knight of One said she taking him as a request from the Emperor, Akito must still be in the mainland."

"Why haven't they announced anything then? I mean Akito was part of the Ghost of Hannibal, they could gain a lot of favor if they revealed they had one member." Ayano butted in.

"If we think about it, you are wrong, Ayano." Yukiya explained as he spun his pad. "None of the W-0 members, except for Leila, are known to the public, not even to the Europeans. So there is nothing to be gained!"

"It is as Yukiya says, Britannia gains nothing by announcing they have Akito. No, they must have another purpose for him." Leila concluded as she shivered. "Something far darker I suppose."

"And what would that be?" Rio said, finally joining the conversation.

"I don't know and that is the problem. I only heard her speak for a few seconds, but that Knight's voice almost seemed like Shin Hyuga Shaing." Now, everyone shivered, the memory of the madman would haunt them forever even if they had never interacted directly with him.

"If she is even a little similar to him, we can be sure that Akito is in big trouble." Ryo still had nightmares of the time the Vercingetorix almost had cut him in half.

"Can't we use that thing of yours…. that carriage thing to reach Britannia or whatever and save him?" Ashley said as finished his sixth and last sandwich of the day.

"You mean Apollo's carriage?" Ayano remembered the method, it still amazed her to that day."
"We can't as the last one has been destroyed and its remains were taken by the Britannia's army." It was Anna who answered. "And while HQ has been trying their hardest to build a new one, its conclusion is scheduled to be only at the end of the next month."

"And since we can't attack Britannia since that would not only turn the populace against us, but we would be swiftly defeated by the sheer numbers of troops, we are stuck." Everyone jumped from their seats when Leila of all people punched the table.

"That can't be it! There must be a way for us to reach him! We have to save Akito!" She sounded desperate.

"And we will miss, you just need to calm down." Claus rubbed her back, trying to calm her down.

"I am sorry everyone. I know that you are all on edge. My behavior was uncalled for." she lowered her head in shame.

"That is not necessary Commander Breisgau. I think we can all understand that the last few days have been nothing but stressful for you." General Mendell entered the room.

The general was tall, six foot five at least. He was pale as a ghost and the only hair he seemed to have was on the eyebrows. Different from his dead Superior, General Smilas, he had a forever present scowl on his face.

"General! I thought you were supervising the troops on Germany's front!" Everyone saluted as he moved near the Maiden of Orleans.

"At ease! Now that you seem fully aware of the state we are in, I am sure you will have no complaints about this plan." He handed her a briefcase, which she took and began to read.

It was only when her face began to grow paler and paler that W-0 noticed something was wrong.

"General Mendell, this is…." Her voice was weak, disappointment leaking from it.

"Freedom Commander Breisgau. It is a ticket to our freedom." The man answered her in a resolute tone. "It has been approved already."

"But if we do this….." She tried to object.

"The preparations have been made. It is time for the E.U to return to its days of glory." He put his hand on her shoulder. "And it will be you, The Maiden of Orleans, who will guide us to it. The castle of Orava has been prepared and is waiting for you and your team."

"What? But isn't Slovakia about to be conquered? It is suicide!" The blonde huffed, removing his hand from her.

"My dear commander, I can assure you; everything is fine. That was a lie I put on the report. Slovakia is fine and with the reinforcements, we will be sending with you, your new home will be much better than Castle Weisswolf ever was." While he tried to smile, Leila could easily see how much he hated having to suck up to her. Being command had made him arrogant. "Our collaborators assure us of the efficiency of this plan."

Soon, the man said his goodbyes and left the room. It was only when they were sure he was out of earshot the group resumed their talk

"It is political, Leila. Apparently, he wants a return to the values and traditions that made the E.U great." Claus muttered.

"Does he know what those values and traditions were?" said their leader, disgusted. "We lost everything to Britannia because of them! We need to unite, not use people as disposable objects"

"What the fuck do you mean Leila?" Rio asked the blonde who was being aided by Aina who helped the pale as a ghost girl sit while she gave her a cup of hot tea.

"This. This is what is going on!" the blonde all but threw the papers at them, which Major Captain Oscar Hammel took and began to read out loud, the eyes of all of them bulging out in horror.

"Leila…. if we do this…." Anna whimpered in horror.

"We will probably incur the wrath of Britannia, no, of the entire world." The commander shook her head in disgust. "But…. It may well be the only way to give us the swift advantage we need."

Was the only way to save Akito to make a pact with the devil?

Britannia Mainland - Imperial Capital of Pendragon - Imperial Palace - Upper Gardens - 18:00.

Grand Duke Velaines surveyed the entire garden, the most beautiful flowers he had ever seen in his life. Not even his Ceasar's palace had such variety.

After their arrival at the capital, they had been greeted by two rows of Knightmares which crossed their lances, paving a way for them. The populace of the capital made sure to attend as well.

However, as he waved and greeted the people, it quickly became apparent that His Majesty would not be present. He was, instead, welcomed by the Knight of One, who bowed offering an apology that His Majesty had an urgent matter to solve and so he was unable to greet him.

While The Emperor didn't need to greet the Grand Duke, it had always been viewed as a gesture of goodwill. Lelouch's absence was a clear declaration that the Emperor was not pleased with the delay, but seemed ready to forgive and forget as showed by the display of the Knighmares.

They were guided by the staff to their rooms and were informed that His Majesty would speak with them when they were rested.

And that is how they got to the Upper Gardens. Even Velaines who had been on the capital a few times never had the pleasure of being here.

As he was being escorted by Michael and Andrea, the trio soon sighted The Emperor. He stood by the central Gazebo, sitting on a white chair, his personal Knight, Lady Luana stood faithfully by his side. They also saw Lord Jeremiah and Lady Monica, who were by the stairs that lead to His Majesty. The duo saluted them.

"Good evening Grand Duke Velaines, Lord Farnese, and Sir Augustus. His Majesty is pleased with your presence here." The loyal cyborg said. "However, I am afraid only one of your escorts may proceed from this point."

The men in question exchanged a glance and nodded.

"I will be escorting the Grand Duke." Andrea nodded.

"In that case, so that Sir Michael doesn't spend his entire time here standing, another table has been prepared for you." Monica showed the place. "Refreshments have been served while His Majesty and your lord talk. Please accompany me."

After they were gone, Jeremiah allowed them passage.

It was only when they took their final steps, that they noticed that only one free chair. Another clear message: The Emperor would be talking with Velaines only.

"Graces and Glories to the Sovereign of Britannia, His Imperial Majesty, Lelouch Vi Britannia." They bowed, not allowing to be affected by the situation.

"You may rise. Grand Duke, I am most pleased with your presence here. Please, take a sit." The man did as he was told. The Grand Master of the Holy Order of Raphael imitated Luana and stood by his side, beginning a staring contest with the Knight of One.

"I cannot express my gratitude for forgiving my delay. While it is the norm for the one who controls the European part of Britannia to immediately greet the new ruler, matters beyond what I could control, forced me to remain in St. Petersburg." It had been decided that Velaines would take responsibility for the delay since he had a higher position.

"I have heard of your conundrum: Reorganizing the army." He waved, dismissing the problem as if it was only a pebble on the road. "I am sure that with the increase in recruitment and Knightmare's production, your army will be back to its former glory within the month."

"Most certainly Your Majesty. Your words ring true, we never had such a boost on morale." Duke Velaines allowed himself a smile. "It almost seems like the rebellion caused by the traitor was only a bad dream."
"By traitor, I am sure you mean the former Grand Master Shin Hyuga Shain?" the duo grimaced. "On that note, excellent job on opposing him, Sir Farnese. You fulfilled your Knight's duties exemplarily."

"Your words are more than I deserve." While Andrea bowed, the feeling something was wrong only grew inside of him.

"I can appreciate a man of your skills showing such modesty. That brings us to the matter at hand. I am sure that you are aware of my actions in dissolving the nobility system on the mainland." They nodded. "Well, I intend to do the same on Euro Britannia. The papers are being prepared as we speak."

Their eyes went wide with surprise. Sure they expected such a thing may happen, but immediately after the nobles' rebellion? How was he so confident in himself?

"Y-Your Majesty, may I be allowed to speak freely?" Once the ruler nodded, Velaines cleared his throat, thinking carefully on his next words. "I do believe it may be too soon for such a...drastic measure."

Immediately the temperature around them fell as Luana's face morphed into a scowl, Farnese already in the position to protect Velaines. However, before she could even open her mouth, Lelouch raised his hand, silencing her.

"While I can assume your reasons, I still would like to hear them from your mouth." He gestured for him to continue. "Please, enlighten me."

"Thank you, Your Majesty. While I am certain that you have the best interests of the populace, such an act will most certainly stir a rebellion by the nobility's part." He coughed. "As your ruling has just begun, the dissolution could bring instability to Britannia, and, most certainly, its enemies will try to take advantage of the situation."

The Emperor seemed to be considering his words for a few moments before he scoffed.

"I am sure you are well aware that my Knights of The Round have already dealt with a similar thing not long ago, but I do agree violence is not the answer and I only did what I did since they forced my hand." He smirked as if laughing at a joke only he knew. "However, since you have been honest with me, I shall do the same to you. To summarize: I do not intend to stir this country to death by its own hands."

"Your Majesty, you can't be saying that Britannia is heading towards suicide!" Andreas protested, clearly offended by such thought. This time Luana remained quiet, but her eyes clearly showed her distaste for the Grand Master.

"That is exactly what I am saying, Sir Farnese. Before I ascended to the throne, our beloved land was being ravished by all sorts of scoundrels who took pleasure in the vilest of acts." He replied promptly. "Depravity ran free on the background of this Empire and the people paid dearly for it."

"In the military, how many times the honest and hard-working were unable to be properly rewarded by their exemplary services, so that the nobility, without a drop of experience, could take their places and lead the capable to their deaths." He shook his head, voice full of grief. "How many times the common people were falsely accused and had to suffer as the word of a noble was the same as the truth?"

"The nobles and the royal family held more than 80% of Britannia's entire fortune. It wouldn't be long until the structure of our society came crashing down. And when this event inevitably came to pass, what do you think would happen? I am sure that with your intellect you have already concluded my line of thinking." Lelouch pointed at him.

"Britannia would die." The Grand Duke said aghast, despair evident on his scowl. Lelouch nodded at him as stirring him to continue. "A civil war the likes the world have never seen would begin. Our nation would be split into many principalities and small countries, each of them fighting for dominance. Hundreds would die by the second."

"And to make things worse, the rest of the world would watch the entire thing go down, making sure the fight continued for as long as they wanted."The emperor snorted. "Once they were satisfied, the E.U and the U.F.N would appear as saviors, making sure to salvage what they could use and disposing of any remains they believed could bother them later on."

"Even if the U.F.N has been trying to bring a new form of stability?" The leader of Euro Britannia asked carefully.

"Don't lie to yourself Augusta Henry Highland, we who are in a position of leadership know very well how quickly power can corrupt." The Emperor scolded him. "They would jump at the chance of more power like hungry hyenas. No, the very notion of leadership should be held by a few."

"And do you consider yourself capable of carrying that burden?"Farnese observed, barely managing to hide how much he disliked that idea. "Of having the entire world on your back?"

"If that is the will of the people..." Lelouch responded, not a trace of doubt in his words. "To create a world where no one will worry about tomorrow may bring I can become a monster, nay, a demon."

Luana shifted uncomfortably at his last statement.

"You would control the world? That arrogance is the same as your predecessor!" Two things happened with that declaration: Luana moved, drawing two rapiers from her cape and crossing them at Andreas' throat. Next, out of nowhere, Jeremiah and Monica were also pointing blades at him. The cyborg with a blade that came from his arm pointed at his nape and the blonde with a saber, its tip touching his back. All of this happened in the mere blink of an eye.

"We will not forgive any act of disrespect towards His Majesty!" The Knight of one snarled at him.

"To dare mock my master…. This Jeremiah Gottwald will prove his loyalty once again!" The tip of the blade touched the nape, drawing blood. "You disrespect the ideals of Knighthood Sir Farnese and just when His Majesty had praised you! Disgraceful!"

"One more word Sir Farnese and your life is forfeit. You have no right to utter such derogatory words." Monica uttered, anger ever-present in her voice.

The Grand Duke watched the scene completely flabbergasted. Even if they were Rounds, Andreas was still one of the best Knights Britannia had to offer…. To immobilize him so perfectly, these three had to be nothing but exceptional.

The tension remained as no one dared to utter a single thing. It was only the pressure became too much and Velaines was about to beg for his friend's life that Lelouch spoke.

"Let him go. His words do have some truth to them." As if magic, weapons were sheathed, Jeremiah and Monica were gone and Luana was back by The Emperor's side. "I am sorry that they have reacted so strongly Sir Farnese, my Knights are very cautious when I am the subject."

The man breathed, the fear of death finally disappearing. It was Velaines' look of reproach that made him lower his head in shame.

"I am sorry, Your Majesty. I have let my emotions get the best of me. I am prepared for any sort of punishment you may want to inflict upon me." He bowed.

"None of this, your concerns are valid and I am on a forgiving mood." However, a flicker of anger passed through Lelouch's eyes. "Rise and know that you are forgiven, but be aware that any more sign disrespect towards me will bring unpleasant consequences."

"I can only thank you from the bottom of my heart." He rose and stood by Velaines' side.

"For what is worth, allow me to offer my apologies as well. The Grand Master is a man who values justice above all, but, sometimes, he lets these values overpower him." He lowered his head to Lelouch.

"I have already forgiven his mistakes. I know how we don't have full control over our subordinates. Rest easy, no griefs remain." The Emperor replied. "Now, before this little interruption, I do think that you are wrong Sir Farnese."

"Charles Zi Britannia and I have nothing in common. He was a ruthless man who viewed this world as his plaything, he didn't care what happened to his subjects as long he got the results he wanted. I, on the other side, have done everything to make sure the people who are under me can live in tranquility."

Said Grand Master flinched at how every word the Emperor uttered was like a sword stabbing him.

"But yes, if that is what the world wishes then I will rule over them, while most certainly making sure they retain their individuality." He smirked. "While Democracy may be a beautiful word, it is destined to fail."

"May I ask what do you mean?" The Duke asked.

"I will be direct: When power is centered on the hands of one person, the number of things he may do is limitless. However, when said person has to wait for the approval of others, many of these options are lost for not only he has to wait, but, most surely there will be those who deny him."

"You are a prime example of that Grand Duke. You have tried time and time again to establish new politics that would benefit the common folk. However, the House of Lords has prevented that on every single attempt."

"And Your Majesty truly believes that if all power was held on one person's hand, peace could be achieved?"

"But of course. Democracy is too unstable. I am sure that if the world submitted to the style of the U.F.N, peace wouldn't last a full year as someone would try to be more equal than the others." he rose his hand as if holding the earth on it. "Humanity's desire for conflict would make sure of that. No, the world must be united as one."

"I cannot, unfortunately, deny your words." Andreas' eyes almost popped out of his head. Was he agreeing with Lelouch? "However, how can you be sure that will bring everlasting peace?"

"Everlasting peace is a utopic concept. Someone someday will sow the seeds of conflict. Nevertheless, be honest with me: A hundred years of peace under one person or a fragile and tentative one under the reigns of Democracy? The answer is clear to me."

"Then allow me one final question: What will stop that one person from becoming a tyrant?" He didn't get the answer he expected as Lelouch showed him a feral grin.

"Yes, exactly. The answer is very simple actually: The people he can trust. If said person has loyal people by him, who can help and guide him, there will be no need for him to shoulder all by himself, making him incapable of becoming a said tyrant." He pointed at Velaines. "That is why I have also summoned you."

"Renounce from your Grand Duke position and come to serve as my Prime Minister Augusta Henry Highland. A man of your skills will surely help me in achieving peace."

Credit had to be given to Augusta as the man managed to not show more than a raise of one eyebrow as a sign of his surprise.

"You had anticipated this…" Lelouch deduced.

"No, my line of thought was that you needed me to keep Euro Britannia under control. Never in my wildest dreams, I would have considered you would invite me to assume such responsibility."

"You are a compassionate, intelligent man. The reports about you show nothing but how tactful you can be. That and, of course, it would be a sign of trust between the mainland and its European counterpart." He smirked at him. "Now, your answer if you could."

Silence reigned as the man considered. Andreas had cold sweat coming out of him. Somehow, this entire thing seemed like a trap and Lelouch had them exactly where they wanted.

"The nobles will be free to leave?"

"If they don't provoke any sort of violence, they will be free to move wherever they please. I won't arrest them for nothing." His smile grew. "All other traditions will be preserved, it wouldn't do for us to lose such important pieces of history."

"And you can assure me that the people will be your priority?" Augusta grabbed the arm of the chair.

"By my honor, after all, a gentle world needs people for them to exist."

"...Please, give me forty-eight hours. The weight of such a decision falls very heavily upon my shoulders." He lowered his head. "I need some time before I can make a decision."

"Hoh, I understand then. I shall grant you this small mercy as well. However, forty- eight hours is the limit, time waits for one as we all know." He sighed. "You are dismissed. Make sure to rest as I am sure you have much to think about."

"I am deeply grateful to you, Your Majesty. I shall spend the time you have given me in the most productive of ways." And with that, they shook hands and The Grand Duke left, alongside the Grand Master.

It was only when they were out of the gardens and Michael had been put on par with the situation, that Andrea dared to speak.

"It is a good proposal, too good to be true my lord." The knight whispered. "To offer such a high position after proposing to dissolve the nobility, The Emperor must be planning something."

"Enough my friend. Your behavior was less than exemplary during this meeting." He chastised him. "I felt no lies during that entire talk and I assure you that I can be extremely competent at judging one's character."

"With that said..." He added. "This proposal does seem too sweet. I will take the time granted to me and find out how exactly The White Emperor behaves on a daily bases. Nevertheless, reflect upon your conduct Andrea, if it had been Emperor Charles, your head would, most certainly, have parted ways with your body by now."

"Yes, I am ashamed of my actions. I will reflect and better myself." He replied.

"In that case, let's convene in my room. We have much to discuss."

Unknown to them, the Emperor was also talking with his Knights.

"Such disrespect… I, Jeremiah Gottwald, should have beheaded the man right then and there." The cyborg said, voice full of rage. "Allow me to fix that mistake my lord and finish that cur's life right this instant."

"As much as I would like you to do just that Jeremiah…" Lelouch snorted. "Sir Farnese's death would certainly damage our relationship with the Grand Duke."

"Is it safe to say he will accept your offer?" Monica asked.

"Most certainly. After all, I am sure he realized that the days of Euro Britannia as a separate entity of the mainland are almost gone. While the Grand Duke position gave him a power similar to The Emperor, he knows I intend to center all of Britannia's power on my hands." He showed an evil smile. "No, if Augusta Henry Highland wants to change the world, he will have to do it under my command."

"And are simply going to let Andrea go unchecked?" Luana snarled. "He is a dangerous factor that cannot be ignored."

"Who said anything about letting him free? He will pay for his disrespect towards me" He replied. "I will make sure to summon him for a private talk tomorrow where I will convince him of my ways. I have no time for asinine, righteous bastards like him."

The Knights all smiled, knowing that Lelouch meant only one thing when he said that: Geass.

"With that out of the way, I will finish my projections on Europia's movements. Monica, since you have done plenty of expeditions over that area, please accompany me." He rose from the chair, the blondie following him. "Luana, Jeremiah, you are dismissed for the day."

The duo bowed and soon were the only two left in the garden.

"Well, although it's still early, Lady Marrybell's and Lady Euphemia's arrival is expected to be on the first hours of the morning. I will retire and rest. You should do the same, Jeremiah." And so the golden-haired woman left.

"Have a nice rest, I will take your suggestion." The cyborg replied.

It was only when he saw her turn the corner that he whispered on the communicator on his arm.

"Lady C.C, the target had begun to move. I leave the rest to you."

The Pacific Ocean - Logres-class Battleship "Maiden of Hope" - Medical Bay 05 (ICU) - Two Hours Later.

Shirley Fenette stood near the entrance of the medical bay, her heart in pieces. Using Milly's grandfather as bait to capture her had been one of the hardest things she had ever done.

The blondie had certainly given her the stinky eye before she fell asleep to the effect of the drugs. Even now, her "friend" was still unconscious, alongside Nina and Ruben. She knew they had to be discreet, but had all this secrecy been necessary?

And she had just now found out that they had located Miss Sayoko. The problem: The woman was still unconscious and visits had been forbidden.

Sighing for the tenth time, the orange-haired girl wondered when her life had gotten so complicated.

"If you keep sighing like that, your teeth will fall." Rivalz snickered at her as he gave her a warm cup of hot chocolate. "Try to relax for a bit."

"Thank you." She gladly took the beverage, the warmth of the liquid making her forget about her problems for a few seconds. "I just can't stop worrying."

"You tell me." Her friend replied. "I don't think I will ever forget the president's look of betrayal."

"Rivalz…." Shirley was more than aware of his crush for Milly, but she knew the blondie didn't feel the same. "I think she will forgive us once she knows about our situation."

"Heh, it is all that I can hope for, to be honest." He smiled sadly. "When did our lives get so complicated?"

"I was just thinking that." She laughed. "I think it was when Luana entered our lives."

"Yup, that was it." He sipped from his cup. "But, if I am being honest, I think we are better this way. Heavens know what would have happened if she didn't appear."

Shirley's eyes quickly went out of focus. "Let's change the subject."

"Eh? Why?" He only received a blank stare from her. "Alright! Alright! No need to get so moody! Geez!"

It was at that moment the doors of the medical bay opened, revealing a very tired medic.

"The patient is awake." His voice showed how exhausted he was. " You may see her now."

"Finally, it is about damn time." Rivalz cheered, not noticing the life returning to Shirley's eyes.

"What happened?" She looked around.

"Did the chocolate made you fall asleep? Wake up, Shirley! Sayoko is awake!"

"Oh, I am sorry. I must be really tired." She rubbed her eyes, following him.

Inside the ICU there was only one patient: Sayoko Shinozaki stood, a little pale, but her overall state seemed fine. Surprise all over her face.

"Miss Shirley? Mister Rivalz? What is going on?"

"Sayoko!" Shirley wanted nothing more than to hug the woman but settled for holding her hands. "I am so glad you are ok. After the battle of Tokyo, I thought we had lost you."

"Good to see you safe and sound Sayoko." Rivalz smiled, happy as well.

"As I am happy to see you, but how is this possible? I saw your body, Miss Shirley, you were dead." Sayoko muttered, feeling the warmth on the orange-haired girl woman.

"That is a long story that I think is better told when everyone is together." She apologized. "We are almost at Pendragon. Lulu will be so happy when he knows you are alive!"

"So Young Master Lelouch is truly safe?" The ninja let out a sigh of relief.

"But how in the world did you find us Sayoko?" Rivalz asked.

"I managed to track your mission to Tokyo Bay and managed to reach the place you were staying in. After that, I found myself on this airship."

"So that is how….. but how did you manage to escape the F.L.E.I.J.A?" Shirley replied.

"The F.L.E.I.J.A? What do you mean? We…" Sayoko gasped. "Lady Nunnally!"

Shirley and Rivalz had to hold her down and that proved to be a problem even in her weakened state.

"Sayoko! Sayoko! Calm down! Nunnally is…. Nunna is dead." Shirley said dejected, tears falling from her eyes. "She died thanks to the warhead."

"What? No! I was with her, I can assure you, Miss Shirley, that Lady Nunnally is very much alive." Her voice was so sincere that even they didn't doubt.

"B-But that's i-impossible! If you are telling the truth…." Her voice began to fail, horror consuming her. "That means she lied."

"I am sorry Miss Shirley, but who lied?" Sayoko asked puzzled.

"Rivalz! Luana lied!" The man in question had realized the same and was sporting a scowl on his face.

"If she lied about that… What else could she be hiding?"

"I don't know, but we have to contact Lulu now! He could be in danger!" Before she could leave the room, they suddenly felt weak, Shirley and Rivalz almost falling on the ground.

The door opened, revealing a very tired Naoto Kozuki.

"Sorry, that is not going to happen." He said as he locked the room. "Lelouch can't know about any of this before Luana is finished."

"Shadow, no, Naoto…" Shirley whispered, feeling extremely sleepy. "What have you done to us? Geass?"

"I have done nothing and don't you worry... Soon enough, you will understand." And with that Rivalz, Shirley and Sayoko fell asleep.

"Haaaaaah!" Naoto sighed in pure relief. "She managed to do it in time, I was sure that I would have to shoot them with these sleep darts."

He moved Rivalz and Shirley to different beds and made sure Sayoko was ok. Finally, he dropped himself on a chair, exhausted.

"I only hope they get out ok. Luana is the only one who knows how this thing works so she must have been careful." He covered his eyes. "A few hours before I have to report… I think I can take a quick nap."

"Just a little more… a little bit more and you can finally stop with this charade. You will do it. Isn't that right Luana?" And with that, he fell asleep, dreaming of a girl of golden hair and red eyes.

Free Area of Cambodia - Toromo Research Institute - Meeting Room - Same time.

Scheneizel stood by himself, analyzing some pictures before the door was rudely opened by his sister Cornelia.

The woman marched to one of the chairs, making as much noise as possible, before sitting, a powerful scowl on her face.

The former prime minister had to hold a small laugh. That had been Cornelia's modus operandi ever since Euphemia's first public reappearance. Ever since then, whenever she saw the pinkie on the news, her mood got worse.

Right now, the soldiers were making bets about how many more appearances before the Goddess of Victory went insane.

"Cornelia…" He tried to pacify her. "If you keep that scowl, it will make itself permanent on your beautiful face."

She huffed, not caring in the slightest.

"Little Sister..." He appealed to her family love. "I promise you that we will get to the bottom of this, but we need to do this together. While I understand your frustrations, be aware that they are not helping the soldiers' mood. The tension is high enough as it is."

He smirked as his words had the desired effect of making the woman relax, the scowl leaving her face for the first time in a few days.

"Forgive me, my brother. These past few days have not been kind to me." She recalled the news of the destruction of Libra's palace. Euphie had to be the one who ordered its destruction. That was another stab at her heart. "I just don't know what to do."

"And as I had just stated: I understand." He smiled reassuringly at her. "By the way, are you that it is Euphie?"

"The jewel box was our private secret, no one else was aware of it. Not even Darlton and Guilford knew about it." She replied, shaking her head. "And we made sure to only interact with it when we knew we wouldn't be found out."

"If not even your personal Knights knew…. then the possibility we are dealing with the real Euphemia comes closer to being the truth." He theorized.

"But if that were to be true, then it was Father who was responsible for Euphie's death?" Cornelia grabbed the arm of the chair, her wrath threatened to break it.

"Knowing the type of person our father was, he was perfectly capable of doing something like that…" He nodded. "However, the situation plays too much in Lelouch's favor, so he must have done something. All the more reason for us to rush with Damocles. Bismarck and the others are getting impatient."

The Rounds who remained loyal to Charles were indeed getting more and more impatient as the days passed. The only reason they hadn't tried to storm Pendragon was their reduced numbers. Nevertheless, Schneizel was sure he could keep them grounded for yet some time.

"And are we sure she is under Lelouch's Geass?"

"But of course Cornelia. What other reason Euphemia would have to join hands with the man who wants to make the whole world into their loyal slaves?" He smiled at her. "Remember that Euphie is a pacifist who loves her family."

"Yes… You have to be right." However, Cornelia didn't seem so sure. "By the way, how can you not have even a shard of doubt Lelouch was using an imposter?"

"One reason only: The Knight of One."

"You mean Bismarck?"

"No, Lelouch's Knight of One." He smirked as if having fun with a, particularly difficult, puzzle. "As soon, as he took the throne, I tried to find everything about his followers."

"While it was impossible to find anything about the Knight of Four… My spies did manage to find a few things about her." He handed the pictures and files he was analyzing to Cornelia.

"But this is…" While the file affirmed a woman named Luana never existed, some of the pictures clearly showed her entering Euphemia's funeral and leaving, during the first hours of the morning, disguised as a member of the cleaning staff. "How did she enter so easily?"

"I have to say, unfortunately, that the blame falls upon you, Cornelia." The woman looked at him, outraged at such accusation.

"How is it my fault?"

"In case you don't remember, you have forbidden everyone for having access to the body: Securities, medical staff, even your Knights." He replied. "You only gave access to the funeral service and the cleaning staff and you were so desperate in reason of Euphie's death that you didn't even bother to keep an eye on then.

She looked down ashamed.

"However, your reasons are more than justified. Nevertheless, it seems that this Luana not only knew that the staff would be reduced but was able to avoid your gaze even if you were not in the best state."

Cornelia thanked him and moved to the next set of pictures.

"Next, we have her overlooking what appears to be another funeral. This time, however, for the Knight of Ten, Shirley Fenette." He explained. "I read the autopsy and I can assure you that the medics confirmed she was dead. Nevertheless, her presence there had to mean something."

"These are the only photos we have of her before her debut as a Knight of One. That is supposed to be impossible since just the Tokyo settlement has hundreds of thousands of cameras. To manage to avoid all but two of them proves how dangerous she is."

"And there is not even a piece of information about her! No birthplace! No family! No last name! Not even potential places she was sighted. She is a ghost!" Cornelia added, overviewing the files again.

"Indeed, but make no mistake Cornelia: Ghosts can't cause any problem to us who are alive. Our mysterious woman intends to cause as much chaos as possible, I am sure of that." Schneizel replied, looking at the picture of Luana leaving Euphemia's funeral, an ominous smirk on her face.

Britannia Mainland - Imperial Capital of Pendragon - Imperial Palace - Emperor's Quarters - Around Midnight.

"I must confess that I never expected Europia to still have such resources at their disposal." Lelouch mused as read the reports. "It is fascinating."

"Indeed, while I don't want to admit, I have to say that Schneizel was essential in the process of Britannia's conquest..." Monica replied, sitting close to him, too close if C.C and the others had anything to say about it

But then again, the ladies weren't here right now were they?

"There is no shame in saying the truth. Schneizel is a master in the art of war. If Britannia had more people like him, the entire world would be displaying our country's flag.

"And that is something you intend to finish right?" A beautiful smile on her face. "Take over the entire world."

"Yes, for peace, the world must submit itself to its rightful ruler, Lelouch Vi Britannia, or face complete annihilation..." he replied.

"You know you haven't changed much since the days of your childhood." She gazed at his eyes. "The same violet eyes full of determination to fulfill your objectives. Of course, at that time, you were determined to make your sisters happy and now…"

"Now, I am determined to take control all over the world." He interrupted her. "I can see that you are not fully on board with this. Monica, there is still…"

He received a flick to his forehead.

"And just like when we were children, you still rush to conclusions." She sighed. "Don't you remember that it is rude to interrupt a lady?"

"Then, please forgive this insolent man and finish your thoughts, Lady Monica." he laughed.

"I shall forgive your mistake this time my lord." She joined him in laughing. She was truly grateful Lelouch had refused they kept any sort of hierarchy when in private. Alone, they were only a man and a woman, not an Emperor and his Knight.

"As I was saying before being rudely interrupted: Now, you are doing the same thing on a much larger scale." She joined her hand with his. "Lelouch, you are the same boy that saved me from the depths of despair I was when my father died and my mother became a pale shell of herself."

"I am here because I want to be, to fight for something I truly believe in, and if you say we can have peace, then, just as I swore to you before, you have my sword and my loyalty." She said. "Now stop being so anxious about everything! Or you will die of stress before we even begin your plans."

"Well, if I didn't change, you most certainly have." He smiled. "Where did the shy girl who never left my side went?"

"I had to change. Even if I was a member of the nobility, they looked down on me for being a woman." Lelouch scowled at that. "Don't you worry about that, I showed my skills and quickly shut them up. The phrase "never judge a book by its cover" was made for me."

"Behind a gentle exterior, lies an alpha predator. I will be sure to remember that."

"I can be gentle… To the one who has conquered my heart." She said.

Lelouch had some difficulty to keep his poker face at that moment. He had to be careful now, he already was in a relationship with Euphie and C.C. And while his witch had certainly given him the go-ahead and Euphemia didn't seem to object his interactions with Shirley and Monica, he still didn't want to end like his father.

"And has someone managed to conquest such a desired prize?" He asked carefully.

"One man has." Lelouch flinched. "A long time ago… But he vanished alongside his sister. Can you believe he suddenly reappeared recently and didn't even warn me? I was certainly surprised, to say the least. I even spent the last few years searching for clues about him. The nerve of him, am I right?"

She moved her fingers, expertly, around his torso.

"I-Indeed, he sure sounds like a-a terrible man." He managed to say.

"Oh, he is! And the worst thing is that even though he is aware of my feelings and seems to be interested in me, he refuses to act on it." She began to move her fingers faster. "I simply must punish him. Don't you think?"

"M-Maybe he has a… reason!" Lelouch yelped in pleasure. "Monica! You are killing me here."

"Oh, I am so sorry, Your Majesty." She whispered, delighted. "I never told you, but I have heard from the mother of the said love interest of mine that he was weak to massages and so I learned the craft."

"He is a lucky man, indeed." The Emperor conceded, trying to regain control. "He certainly deserves punishment for ignoring a beauty such as you."

"I am delighted you agree." She stopped, allowing him to breathe in relief.

"But I understand he has too much on his plate right now and maybe… Just maybe, we both need time to make sure our feelings remain the same as the time of our childhood." She said.

"Monica…" Lelouch didn't know what to say.

"We both had our burdens to carry. No matter how much I wanted for things to stay the same, I know much has changed." She sighed. "Let's give ourselves some time to think Lelouch. I-I tried to move on. When you were declared dead, I mourned for you, but I still had an entire life ahead of me. "

"I would never…" She put a finger on his lips, shushing him.

"Let me finish! Please..." She replied. "I know that what I did was not wrong. It is my life and I am free to live it however I want. However, I only managed to set one date before you came back and that was a disaster."

"What happened?" he asked curiously.

"I had a battle a few hours before the arranged time. I lost and the guy didn't even bother to appear." She laughed at her misfortune. "He... He reminded me of you. That is why I wanted that date."

"Look at me… I said that I moved on and the only guy who manages to catch my interest is similar to you." She sighed. "And then you came back, throwing my feelings in disarray. Surrounded by women, I was most certainly confused, to say the least."

He remained silent, listening attentively to her story.

"Oh, I should tell you that I tried to meet Nunnally plenty of times when she came back. However, The Emperor was certainly aware we knew each other and made sure we never had any chance of talking." She said. "I should have tried harder. I am sorry."

"Monica, you did nothing wrong. Charles was a ruthless man, he would have ordered your death if he had any suspicions." He chastised her.

"That is just like you, that is one of the reasons that I…." She cleared her throat. "Anyway, I could see how strong you felt about some of them and how much our time apart affected our relationship."

"That is not true! You still are someone very precious to me." He replied.

"I have also realized that, but I noticed you have some unfinished business with some of these women… I am not blind Lelouch. I saw how you flinched when you read the report about Milly Ashford. I saw how you look at Miss Shirley. I even noticed how worried you were about the pilot of the Guren. Your gaze is at them, not at me… At least not at the moment." She thought about the other woman who looked at him, wishing for his attention but refused to comment on it. He already had too much to work with it.

"But still… To simply deny what we have…"

"No one is saying anything about denying. I, no, we just need some time." She smiled sadly at him. "Even if I am an alpha predator as you have put it, I am also a patient woman. I have waited for years, I can wait for a little longer for the chance to open my heart to someone."

"You have matured Monica… Much more than I did."

"Please, don't flatter me, Lelouch. I know that you went through much more than I ever did." She joined her hands with his once again. "I don't care if your heart isn't solely for me… Just make sure that when we are alone together, your eyes and your heart are focused solely on me. That is my one condition."

"I can certainly…" He was interrupted once again.

"How many times must I say this? Think about it! Only when your heart and mind are made up, come to me. I will be waiting." She rose from her chair. "As much as this talk has been pleasant, Your Majesty still needs to rest as in just a few hours Lady Marrybell and Lady Euphemia will be landing on the capital. It wouldn't do for them to see you without a drop of sleep. I will excuse myself for the evening."

"Thank you, Monica." He replied.

"You are welcome, but just one last thing if I may…" She said.

"Sure, what is it?" And then she was upon her, her lips a few centimeters away from his ear.

"Don't take too long. After all, this woman has needs, needs that must be attended as soon as possible..." she whispered seductively, her hot breath, making him blush.

Before he could reply, the woman was already at the door.

"Make sure to rest Lelouch!" And with these words, she was gone.

"Women! they will be the death of me." He laughed as he finished sorting the papers and moved to his bed, not even trying to undress.

"Sweet dreams, Monica." And with that, he was taken by Hypnos to the land of sleep.

Unknown to him, the woman was still at his door and had heard his last words. She then moved away, the royal guards allowing her passage from that wing of the palace.

Only when she was inside her room, she felt free to reply.

"Sweet dreams, Lelouch." She said, her heart feeling warm for the first time in years as if it had finally allowed itself to march forward again.

And so, the Knight of Nine fell asleep, hoping to join the man in her heart on the land of dreams.

Britannia Mainland - Imperial Capital of Pendragon - International Airport Empress Elizabeth - The Emperor Exclusive Airstrip - Following day - 04:30 am.

Dark clouds covered the skies of Pendragon. A big storm

Lelouch was grateful for Monica's advice. Not that he wasn't used to sleepless nights, far from it, but, recently, the duties of the Emperor had left him more exhausted than usual. Europia's movements had increased, he had to make sure all of his plans were perfect for when they decided to act.

Holding back a yawn, he looked at Jeremiah as only he, Monica, and Adam was present as His Knights. Rolo and Anya were still asleep, both still tired from their missions. Lelouch didn't find the courage to order them to accompany him.

Luana had been the curious exception. She had called him, saying she was suffering from overworking fatigue and had asked to be excused from accompanying him.

That had set all of his mental alarms even if her reason sounded plausible since she hadn't stopped working ever since she was knighted. He had allowed and had immediately called C.C to keep an eye on her. The immortal agreed and had dispensed all forms of backup.

Lelouch still had a bad feeling about this. He waited impatiently for the convoy's arrival so he could check on The Knight of One and his witch.

"How much longer?" He asked.

"My lord, they have just entered Pendragon's airspace and should be visible right about now..." Jeremiah answered, pointing to a point of the sky. Surely, the airships could be seen, traversing the black clouds.

The convoy took exactly thirty minutes to land. Soon, the first airships opened, revealing a smiling Marry who rushed to him.

The Emperor smiled as well. Time to welcome his family.

-With the immortal witch-

C.C stalked the Knight of One as a panther stalking its prey. Something was wrong.

Immediately after her warlock had warned her about Luana, the golden-haired woman had left her room, looking fit as a fiddle.

The witch had been following her for half an hour now and didn't see anything too unusual at the beginning. The Knight of One had delivered some papers to the staff and signed some papers needed for today's morning drill.

However, after that, things began to change. The path she was traversing could only lead to one place: The secret gate to the World of C underneath the capital.

It was when she had unlocked the elevator that would lead her underground that C.C decided to intervene.

"You seem to be healthy for someone who was suffering from exhaustion." She said, leaving the hiding spot. "Where are you going?"

If Luana was surprised she sure didn't show it.

"Lady C.C, what a surprise. I didn't expect to see you here." She greeted courteously. "Have you been well?"

"Cut the pleasantries girl! You noticed I have been following you. I won't ask a third time: Where do you think you are going?" C.C snarled at her.

"I think we both know the answer to that question, don't we?" Luana replied, her smirk growing.

"The Emperor forbid anyone but me and him from entering the place. I thought you had gotten that memo." She began to approach her.

"Oh, I did. However, I am sure he will allow this exception in light of my services." She remained fixed to the entrance of the elevator.

"No, he won't. Now back off. You are going to answer some long-overdue questions of mine." C.C drew a pistol, pointing at her.

"Oh my! Such violence! I do recall you being so detached. Has the Emperor finally managed to make you feel again?" She laughed.

"Do you think you are in a position to taunt?" She unlocked the safety.

"I am just happy to see such devotion. And to answer your question: Yes, in fact, I can even say this: Checkmate!" And with these words, C.C was assaulted by the most violent headache she had ever felt. The pain was so much she dropped the gun and fell to the ground, gripping her head.

"G-Geass?" C.C managed to utter.

"Hah, I wish! To have such power as a Geass… Things would be so much easier." Luana denied. "No, you could say I am only borrowing such power."

The pain was so intense, her voice failed her as she began to squirm on the carpet.

"You know… All that you had to do was stay in your place for a few more minutes and I wouldn't have to do this." She said as she picked up the gun and stored inside her vest. "It saddens me to have to do this, it truly does, but I need everything to be perfect."

She removed her glove, revealing a hand completely covered by bandages. "Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they used to say somewhere." She then touched C.C where her code was.

This time the witch managed to scream. Her head exploded with images, feelings, and memories.

"I must say that I am thankful for His Majesty forbidding everyone from coming here." She mused between the immortal screams. "It does make things easier for me."

After a few minutes, she stopped and looked without believing at Luana.

"You are…" She yelped as the golden-haired woman picked her up and began to move towards the elevator.

"Yes, it has been far too long, hasn't it C.C?" She smiled. "Now, that the stage is set and the supporting actors are on stage alongside me, the Leading actress… It is time to, finally, invite the audience to watch my play."

As the doors began to close, the immortal managed to whisper:

"Lelouch…"

- At the Airport -

The witch's lover was unaware of what had transpired and was merrily chatting with Euphie and Marry, Oz stood a few steps away from the group, knowing it was bad for her to interrupt such a meeting.

They were then interrupted by a royal guard who informed the Emperor that the V. were ready for transport.

"Make sure to be careful with them. Treat them with the utmost care." Lelouch ordered. They are to be taken to the palace immediately. Also, between the people who have been brought to the capital for treatment, there is a Miss Kozuki, she is to be transferred to the palace as well. Her treatment will occur there."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The man saluted and left to fulfill his orders.

A few moments later, Nina, Ruben, and Milly passed by him still sleeping. He ordered the men to stop.

"I am sorry Milly, I promise to make it up to you soon." He fixed one single stray strand of her hair. "You may go."

The group saluted and left.

"Lelouch… She will understand. They will all understand." Euphie whispered to him.

"Thank you, Euphie…I thought you would be more vocal about Nina though."

"I… Have a lot of things that need to be said to her, but that can wait."

"Strong as ever I see…" He replied.

"So that is Nina Einstein… She certainly does not look like the image of the creator of the warhead I had in my mind." Marrybell joined, not liking the closeness the two were in.

"Nina is eccentric, to say the least… Be careful around her." Lelouch alerted.

"If you say so…"

"Changing the subject, where are Rivalz and Shirley?" He began looking around for them.

"Lord Shadow, I mean Lord Naoto had them transferred from my flagship to the third one. They looked exhausted the last I saw of them." Euphemia explained.

"Naoto said…" Lelouch wondered about that.

His questions would be answered in a second as the doors of the third Logres-class battleship opened revealing not only Naoto, but Rivalz and Shirley helping, Lelouch gasped, his maid Sayoko who was in a wheelchair.

"Sayoko?" He blurted as he ran to her.

"Master Lelouch, I am so happy to see that you are okay. It brings me much joy." She took his hands with hers. "If only Miss Shirley allowed me to leave this chair to greet you properly."

"No is no Sayoko! The doctors said you still need a lot of rest before you are healthy enough again to walk again." She replied.

Lelouch ignored all of that, as if in a dream.

"I thought… I had lost you." He whispered. "But if you are here…"

Shirley, Rivalz, and Sayoko looked at Naoto who scratched the back of his head.

"Well, time is up! So go wild I guess." He sighed. "He deserves to know after all."

"To know about what?" He asked.

"Master Lelouch, Lady Nunnally is alive." The maid answered.

Lelouch's blood went cold. His mouth opened and closed like a fish out of the water. However, it was Euphie who spoke first.

"How is that possible? She said Nunna was dead!" She said in horror. "Naoto! What has she done?"

"Being perfectly honest, she lied. Luana knew Nunnally was alive even before we met Lelouch at Kamine Island." He said calmly, even if he was under the gaze of so many people.

The cold was gone, replaced by a burning fury as Lelouch grabbed him by the collar.

"Why didn't she tell me? What has she done? Where is Nunnally?" He screamed at him.

"I don't know." at his look of disbelief. "She never told me anything, just that your sister was alive and I should not let anyone know."

"You lie!" He removed his contacts, revealing the bird symbol on both of his eyes. "Lelouch Vi Britannia orders you…"

Before he could end that order, his phone began to ring. It was C.C's ringtone.

"You may want to pick that call..." Naoto suggested.

He let go of the collar, eyes still fixed at the red-head. With one hand he picked his phone and answered.

"C.C, what is it?" He shuddered when he didn't hear his witch's voice.

"I am afraid C.C can't come to the phone right now..." Luana answered. "Good day, Your Majesty. I wanted to say that using your Geass against Naoto will make things difficult."

The threat could not have been more clear. Thunders boomed above them.

He looked around, failing to see her.

"What have you done to C.C?" He snarled.

"I have done nothing to her." She replied. "There is little, in this world, that could hurt her. However, that changes if we are talking about the world beyond the Gate, correct?"

"What do you want?" He asked, very much aware of the damage the world of C could do to her.

"It is very simple, I simply want to keep doing my duty of serving you to the best of my capabilities." She responded. "Without a shard of doubt on your part."

"How can I trust you if you lie and keep secrets from me?" The rain began, but he didn't care. "Trust is a two-way street. I simply treated you the same way you treated me."

"Do you think I want to lie?" Her voice began to lose control, growing louder and louder. "Do you think I like to keep secrets? To check everywhere in case you have listening devices? Look at who I gave you: Euphemia! Rolo! Shirley!"

"I gave you my loyalty! I have done everything you have asked of me without failure! And what I asked in exchange? Just a bit of trust… I would answer your questions I just needed time, but did you give me that?" She roared. "NO! YOU NEVER TRUSTED ME! YOU NEVER GAVE ME WHAT I WANTED MOST! EVEN AFTER EVERYTHING I SACRIFICED!"

"If only you had been honest with me from the start. Who are you, Luana?" Tha managed to shut her up

For a few seconds, the only things he could hear were the rain and the thunders.

"Yes… The truth. The truth will free me just as She always said it would." She finally said. "It is time. Lelouch, bring the Rounds, Cecile, Lloyd, Sayoko, Euphemia, Marrybell, and Oz with you to the Gate. It is time you were told the truth, the entire truth."

"Make sure to leave "Adam" and the rest of the Glinda Knights out of this." She added. "They will not be able to understand."

"And C.C? What have you done to her?"
"As I have said before, I have done nothing to her. Do as I say and I swear, by my soul, nothing will happen to her." And so, the call was cut.

Everyone around him was silent since Lelouch had put it on the loudspeaker.

"My lord, what would you have us do?" Jeremiah finally asked, noticing the glint of an idea on his master's eyes.

"The enemy has unknown qualities. I need everyone to follow my orders to the letter." Everyone saluted him. "Sayoko, I apologize beforehand, but I will require your skills."

"It would be my pleasure young master." The maid replied faithfully.

'Prepare yourself, Luana. You are a thousand years too early to challenge me to a match.' Lelouch rushed to the car.

He had a witch to save.

-Meanwhile-

Luana stood on a lonely platform, watching the eternal dawn of the world of C.

"I have done everything as you have asked." She said to no one as she was alone. "No more lies from now on."

"Yes, you have done everything perfectly." An androgen voice responded to her. "The stability is secure, you may proceed as you see fit."

And with that, the voice was gone.

"Finally, I can be free." She sighed in relief, never taking her eyes of the dawn.

Britannia Mainland - Imperial Capital of Pendragon - Lower Restricted Levels - 06:00 am.

Lelouch was the first out of the elevator, going against Jeremiah's and Sayoko's requests. He surveyed the area and around the gate and was surprised to find no one. However, he could feel C.C beyond the open doors of the Gate.

"That is... "Marry whispered, Oz standing faithfully by her side. "To think Father kept such a strange structure here right under the Palace."

The rest nodded as they moved closer to it. Two dozens of Royal Guards made a quick swipe of the area and reported that no traps or people were found.

"My Lord, I must insist that you allow me to go first." Jeremiah pleaded. "If this is a trap..."

"I must lead Jeremiah. If the King doesn't lead, how can he expect anyone to follow him?" Lelouch retorted. "Is everyone prepared?"

They all nodded.

"Adam, you and the royal guard are to remain here. Make sure we are not disturbed." The masked man saluted and turned his back to them.

The Emperor then looked at Naoto.

"And are you sure of what you said?"

"Look, from what I know of her, she is on your side. Always have been. Everything she has done was for you and only you." He countered with his hands in shackles. "I am sure there are no traps."

"We shall see about that." He turned to the door. "Everyone grab each other's hands."

They did as they were told. Lloyd was giggling like a child in a candy store until Cecile hit him and grabbed his hand.

"Then, let's go." And with his free hand, he touched the glowing door. Immediately, there was a blinding light, and only the Royal Guard and Adam remained.

"What happened…" Euphemia didn't manage to finish as she was flabbergasted by the place they were in. They were on a floating platform with some stairs leading to what appeared to be some sort of ancient temple. "This is incredible."

Sayoko noticed that she no longer had any sort of damage and managed to stand freely. She moved her legs in wonder.

Marrybell and Oldrin were left without words. They could only stare at everything.

Lloyd's eyes were shining and only Cecile was holding him from throwing himself at the ground and collecting the dust.

"I can't even..." Rivalz said as Shirley stood next to him, just as confused.

"The temple has been rebuild…"Lelouch noted. Truly, the destruction caused by the Shinkiro was gone. "Now, where is the mastermind?"

"Welcome everyone to the world of C. Climb the stairs, I await at the top." Luana's voice resounded, alerting everyone.

"Time to start the operation." They began moving up, Lelouch led them, with Sayoko and Jeremiah flanking him. Next was Rolo, Oldrin, Monica and, Anya, guarding Euphemia, Marrybell, Lloyd, and Cecile. Finally, Naoto came at the very back of the group, closely followed by Shirley and Rivalz.

When they reached the top, they saw Luana standing at the very end of the temple, alone.

"Where is C.C?" Lelouch asked.

"She is fine, just as I promised." The golden-haired woman answered.

"Then why isn't she here?"

"She is busy but will be joining us momentarily." Her words seemed to carry no lies, but Lelouch could never be sure.

"Before I begin…" Luana tried to say.

"I will be the one to direct this event." Lelouch retorted. "Rolo! Jeremiah! Sayoko! Now!"

The boy jumped ahead, quickly going straight to the girl, his Geass activating while the other two went from the sides where the effect would not reach them.

However, the air around Luana seemed to distort and soon, the trio was back with the group.

"Impossible." The Emperor said.

"Nothing is impossible here, Lelouch." She smiled sadly at him. "It saddens me that you still won't take my words as sincere."

"Then you leave me no choice." He pulled a handgun and pointed at her. "You will submit or die."

The threat, however, had a different reaction on the woman.

"I thought that you would feel something… Seems like my hopes were for nothing..." She whispered, dejected.

"Enough of this." Lelouch was about to pull the trigger when he heard a familiar voice.

"Lelouch, don't!" C.C said as she appeared out of nowhere.

"C.C?" He said in relief. "Are you ok? How did she get you? It couldn't have been her Geass!"

The immortal, to everyone's surprise, stood between him and Luana as if protecting her.

"C.C, what are you doing?" He questioned lowering the gun.

"She is not your enemy. I know, I gave her Geass." C.C declared, shocking everyone even further.

"What? But you said you couldn't sense a contract with her!" He retorted. "Did you lie to me?"

"C.C didn't lie to you..." Luana said, gathering courage. "While she may be strong, there is no way she could feel a contract she hadn't made yet."

"What is that supposed to mean?" He asked.

They saw the immortal give a look of encouragement at her. Breathing deeply, she moved her hand and removed her contacts, revealing her two Geass.

"Calm down! Her Geass can't hurt any of us." C.C said as she saw Jeremiah raising his blade and Sayoko moving to block Lelouch's eyes.

"I-I was created in a laboratory. My mother's body was not strong enough to hold a pregnancy." She began, her Geass deactivating, revealing clear violet eyes. "From the moment I could walk, I was raised as a weapon, a weapon of revenge."

"Revenge at who?" This time, it was Euphemia who managed to ask, holding Lelouch for dear life. Something terrible was about to happen. She felt in her bones.

"The world itself… You see, my mother hated it. She wanted to burn it to ashes and I was created to make sure her wish came to fruition." She touched her face and with a loud "click" a mask came off, revealing a much more gentle face beneath it.

Shirley and Rivalz looked at her. they knew that face from somewhere.

"For the first years, I tried to understand… Understand why she had so much hate and why she kept it under a mask." She whispered. "Until one day, when I was seven, she told me."

Lloyd looked at the mask, trying to understand how it worked, while Cecile listened to her words fixedly, as if in a trance.

"Mother hated the world for one reason only." Luana continued. "They had taken what was most precious to her."

Marrybell tilted her head as if recognizing the girl from somewhere. Oz only thought Luana looked less intimidating now. Monica was shaking for reasons she didn't understand.

"The world had taken the man she loved, my father, from her." Luana dropped the cape and began messing with her hair as if searching for something. "And so, she decided the world was not worth saving."

Naoto tried and failed to guess who she was talking about.

"In the beginning, I didn't understand." She laughed. "How could I care about a man that had died two years before I was even born?"

Rolo and Anya remained silent, their faces showed nothing.

"And so Mother began telling me stories of my father. What he did… How kind and gentle he was… How she would be satisfied living with only him and me forever… And, finally, how the world had wronged him." Another "Click" was heard and as if by magic, her hair began to change color. "It was at that moment, my hate for the world began. Hate for taking my perfect family from me."

Her hair changed to a darker shade of sandy brown hair. Jeremiah and Sayoko gasped in shock simultaneously, realizing who she looked like.

"However, before her plan could be executed… the same people who ruined her happiness came back." She pressed a button on the suit. "And everything she had spent years trying to achieve would go to waste."

"It was then she heard a voice... A voice with a proposal. It said: 'Would you like to form a contract?'" Luana laughed as her skin began to look paler. "The voice made sure my mother found an old ally of father and together they started their preparations."

Lelouch dropped the gun, words incapable of describing how he was feeling, his legs about to give out.

"The world was too strong and Mother was too weak, but the voice said the world had been weak once." She began to approach the group. "Why not strike there it said. And so I was chosen as the final vessel of their little plan."

"Nunnally…" He whispered.

"Not quite, Your Majesty." She bowed to him. "My full name is Luana Vi Britannia, daughter of The Demon Emperor, Lelouch Vi Britannia and The White Witch of Calamity, Nunnally Vi Britannia. I am here, "Father". And we are going to change everything!"

A lot of things happened after these words.

Shirley began to laugh before fainting.

Oz caught Marrybell who had also fainted.

Rivalz and Monica only stared ahead as if they weren't able to process.

Naoto overloaded and had to sit down.

Rolo froze in shock, refusing to believe.

Anya took a picture.

Lloyd clapped, amused at the entire thing.

Cecile was white as a statue, unresponsive to everything around her

Jeremiah was on his knees, crying about loyalty.

Sayoko tried to remain calm, but her eyebrows were twitching like crazy.

Euphemia was crying, finally remembering her dream.

C.C laughed at their reactions, extremely amused.

And, finally, The White Emperor, Lelouch Vi Britannia could only look at the girl who called herself his daughter. How, in the world, was he supposed to act now?

NEXT CHAPTER: Luana explains about how her existence is possible, her two Geass, the mysterious voice, the truth behind the headaches and blackouts, her past, and how Nunnally became the White Witch of Calamity.

Be honest with me here everyone: Was this chapter's cliffhanger worse than the last one? If it was, I am sorry to say: The wait is real.

I am not trying to be evil or anything, but I. HAVE. TO. STUDY. The exam may have been delayed, but I have a ton of things to catch up on.

In that case, I will be limiting myself to only write during weekends and only for two hours at most, since I get too focused once I start. That said, once the exam is concluded, I will be back full force to this. Thank you for your patience.

I rushed with this, so you guys could have something as I disappear to study and

Now, about this chapter, I have been trying to make better fight scenes, but they never become as I would like them to be. I will be doing some research on that after my exam.

If anyone is guessing about Naoto's drill thing is the thing Kallen uses on the new movie against the scorpion-like Knightmare. NunnaWillDestroyYou showed it to me and I thought it could be nice.

Lelouch forgiving the Black Knights? Far from it, he has some really bad things ready for them.

Who will Kallen choose? Her real family or the Black Knights? Find out very soon.

Leila and the W-0 begin moving. The plan, however, will bring salvation or ruin.

Lelouch and Velaines meet. The Grand Duke isn't aware but he is dancing on Lelouch's palm. Andreas Farnese is in for a lot of trouble. Real talk, Euro Britannia is such a big part of the Code Geass Universe and the studio kinda forgets about them! Its territory is huge and the Grand Duke has almost as much power as the Emperor! (It is on the Wikia and everything.)

The white emperor of justice's facade of Lelouch begins to fall. He will do everything if that brings the world he wants.

After this, everything moves towards the big reveal you have been asking me since chapter one: Luana's reveal. I had so many drafts of this scene, happening on so many different moments of the story, but I decided this would be the spot. I think I did a pretty good job, but I will let everyone be the judge as well.

I wanted to explore an old forgotten possibility and I have even asked one of my psychologist friends if it was possible. When he gave me the green light, I began writing this story.

If anyone is still reading to this point, almost all of your questions about Nunnally and how she got a daughter will be answered next chapter so, please, wait for it.

This is it. I have done the best I could with this one and I am hoping it is to your liking once again.

Stay safe out there everyone. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. These may be tough times, but we can surpass them and move on.

From someone who cares,

Emperor's ally.
