So my plot gremlins and I would like to say we apologize for taking so long. I was trying to think of how to end this but then I remembered, oh right this is supposed to be interconnected one-shots that are in the universe of a different path. So I am going to leave it open for some of my plot gremlins to play. Okay, that's all we wanted to say, goodbye.

{Merlin} wait, what are you doing.

{me} what? I'm done.

{Merlin} but you didn't type out a story.

{Me} it's an author's note.

{Morgana} you've taken this long to post something and you are leaving your reader with an author's note?

{me} what? lots of writers do it.

{Arthur}yeah, lots of people who can't keep up with updates because of school classes and or exams.

{Morgana}which doesn't apply to you.

{Arthur} or because they've run out of ideas or motivation for the story.

{Merlin}which also so doesn't apply to you.

{me} well I would say I have all that much motivation for the story any more since me plot gremlins are not giving me as many plot idea's for this collection of one-shots as before, they seem to be drifting off toward other story idea's.

{Gwen} but they haven't stopped giving you plot idea's altogether right.

{me}well no, but not as often and not always ideas I can figure out a story to go around

{Morgana}(rolls her eyes) oh please that is, what? about 60% of the plot gremlins ideas? Surely you can figure out something.

{Gwen}yes, what about the um the thing.

{me}The thing?

{Arthur} what thing? Why don't I know about the thing?

{Gwen} because it hasn't been put into a one-shot because other one-shots had to happen first.

{me}what thing are you (Gwen gives me a look) oooh that thing.

{Gwen} yes, that thing.

{Arthur} wait, the thing. As in that rock guy from the fantastic four? Are we doing a fantastic four cross over?

{Me} No Arthur, we are not doing a Fantastic four cross over. My plot gremlins have never come up with a plot for them cross over or not.

{Morgana}they are talking about a different thing Arthur.

{Gwen} So how about it?

{me} (shrugs) yeah okay.

Two servants moved quietly around the room as they did their chores careful not to wake the queen. She had been ill the other day and this morning had not woken up before the king which was really unusual given the king normally had to be dragged out of bed by Merlin. So he had left instructions that she was not to be disturbed.

Gwen's eyes slowly open as she sat pushed her self up into a sitting position. She looked around seeing that Arthur wasn't in the bed or the room for that matter. Her eyes drifted over to the window, then the half-awake queen became fully awake.

"oh my goodness" she cried out seeing how late it was.

"I slept in. Why didn't anyone wake me up?"

The servants rushed over to help the queen but they were shooed off as she grabbed the dress that was laid out for her and rushed behind the privacy screen to change her clothes.

"We are sorry your majesty, but the king ordered that you were not be disturbed," one of the servants said.

"We apologize if we woke you," the other servant said." we were being as quiet as we could"

Gwen stepped out from behind the privacy screen almost fully dressed.

"it's alright I should have been up two hours ago," Gwen told them.

"I didn't wake up because of anything you were doing."

Gwen turned to show the untied laces on the back of her dress.

"would one of you mind helping me"

"of course your majesty," one of the servants said as she stepped forward and started to pull and tie the laces to close the back of the dress.

While she did that the other servant excused herself to go get the queens breakfast.

Once her dress laces were tied Gwen walked over and sat down at the table while the servant brought over a stack of papers at the queen's request. Normally she would wait till after breakfast to proofread Arthurs paperwork a task she had taken over from Merlin when he and Morgana had gone missing and had restarted when Merlin had been promoted to the official advisor. However, she figured she should start on them while she waited for her breakfast since she had slept in. She couldn't for the life of her figure out why Arthur would order that she not be woken up.

"Thank you," Gwen said when the servant placed the small stack of papers on the table in front of her.

"did Arthur say why I wasn't to be disturbed?"

"no your majesty, but we figured it was because you were unwell yesterday"

"I wasn't that unwell," Gwen said just as the door was pushed open and the other servant came in with her breakfast.

"and I feel perfectly fine this morning"

Gwen moved the papers to the side and the servant placed the tray of food on the table in front of her. As soon as the cover was removed and the strong smell of the food hit her nose her stomach flipped.

The two servant servants watched as the Queen shot up and ran over to empty the contents of her stomach in the privy closet. They looked at each other, then without a word the one who had gotten the food ran out to fetch Gaius while the other rushed over to hold the queen's hair back.

Arthur and Merlin walked into the King and Queens chambers to find Morgana and Gwen waiting for them. Dinner was already on the table still covered, Arthur had hoped to be there before the food.

"Sorry we're late," Arthur said leaning down to kiss his wife on the cheek before taking his own seat.

"We were in a meeting with Lord Oswin, and you know how much of a windbag he can be," Merlin told them "although unlike most windbag lords he is a windbag about important issues"

Morgana passed Merlin the pitcher of drinking water who poured himself a goblet before filling Arthur's as well.

"I think it has to do with having served Cenred before," Merlin said

"yes from what I've heard Cenred often dismissed the concerns of his lords unless it had to do with money going to the crown or plotting against his neighbours," Morgana said.

"or recruiting men for his army whenever he got the fancy to start something with a neighbouring kingdom," Merlin said, which more often or not was Camelot was left unspoken.

"what was the issue this time," Gwen asked she had missed Lord Oswin's arrival since Arthur had insisted she should go and rest apparently she had started to look ill again and Morgana had agreed since she had been unwell for a couple of days. Gwen hadn't wanted to miss the large council meeting that day since she had missed the first day of the two-day-long meeting, but had agreed to leave early after the servants had brought in the food for the afternoon snack table, (something Gwen's servant Diha had suggested, in case anyone is wondering Diha got married to one of the guards who had moved to Camelot from Escetir and they are visiting his parents for a couple of weeks in one of the towns which are on what used to be the border of the two kingdoms)

She had been fine most of the day but the smell of the cheese made her almost turn green.

"Lord Oswin was concerned about some damage done to his lands and some of the villages and towns under his care from that storm a couple of weeks ago"

"What kind of concerns," Morgana asked as everyone took the lids off of their plates the servants having been dismissed to go have their own dinner.

"Surely he didn't wait to start repairs till he spoke with you," Gwen said as the smell from the food reached her nose.

"no, he told me that the first thing he had done was to make sure people's homes were repaired then had sent people to inspect and repair any damage to the roads," Arthur said just before taking a bit of his dinner.

"it's sound like he's handling the situation well" Morgana spoke." what was he worried about?"

"well for one a lot of the food crops were destroyed and he's worried there won't be enough food come winter," Merlin told them.

Gwen's stomach twitched as another waft of her food entered her nose, She took a small breath and took a small bite of her potatoes.

"a couple of the other lords were concerned about that as well," Arthur said glancing over at his wife, she looked better but still didn't look well.

"what did you do?" Gwen asked

"Merlin convinced some of the lords who's crops hadn't been affected as much by the storms to help"

Arthur told her.

Gwen's stomach gave a bigger twitch as she swallowed a bite of her vegetables.

"was that all?" Morgana asked

"no, apparently there was a landslide during the storm," Arthur said

"no one was hurt or anything" Merlin quickly assure the ladies," Lord Oswin said that they had gotten part of it cleared, but the landslide took place on the border of his and Lord Verin's lands."

"oh I see," Morgana said "he cleared his half but can't touch the other half since it's not on his lands"

a breeze came in through the open window.

"What did Lord Verin say?" Morgana asked

"he hasn't been able to get a hold of him," Arthur said

The breeze lightly blew the smell of all the food up Gwen's nose.

"and he didn't show up today, didn't even send his son or either of his two grandson's or his granddaughter," Merlin said before either could ask the question he could see they were about to.

"you don't suppose anythings wrong with Lord Verin, do you?" Morgana asked "the man is older than Gaius by at least a couple decades"

"I was concerned about that too," Arthur told her "especially since he didn't send anyone to represent the house, so I'm sending someone to check in on him. They leave tomorrow morning.

The twitching in Gwen's stomach turned into a flip as another breeze pushed the smell of the food into her nose. Merlin looked over to see her face take on an interesting shade of green, he quickly moved to open the door to the privy chamber as Gwen got up and ran to empty the contents of her stomach.

After two seconds of confusion, Arthur rushed over to hold his wife's hair back. He furrowed his brow in frustration at his wife who seemed to refuse to admit and take it easy when she was sick.

Gwen sat down on the bed and sipped the water Morgana gave her. Arthur sat beside her one hand rubbing her back as she leaned into him.

"I'm sorry I ruined dinner," she said.

"don't worry about it," Morgan told her sitting on her other side while Merlin fussed checking Gwen over.

"will you finally admit that your sick and stop trying to do everything?" Arthur asked

"I'm not sick Arthur," Gwen told him.

"Gwen, you just emptied the contents of your stomach," Morgana said, "something you've been doing every day for the last few days".

"I know, but I'm not sick" Gwen insisted.

Arthur stood up frustrated, why did his wife have to be so stubborn,

"of course your sick, people don't empty the contents of their stomach when they're healthy"

"I know you don't have a fever Gwen," Merlin said.

"but that doesn't mean your not sick, you seem to be emptying the contents of your stomach or look like you might whenever you are near" Merlin trailed off as something occurred to him. He sat down in the spot Arthur had vacated.

"uh, Gwen have you talked to Gaius? About uh?"

Gwen and Merlin's eyes met and Gwen gave him a little smile confirming that he had figured it out. Morgana looked back and forth between them and took in what Merlin had just said before realization dawned on her. She gave a happy squeak and threw her arms around her sister in law and best friend. Merlin joined in the hug effectively creating a Queen Gwen sandwich.

"Morgana, Merlin you're going to make her sick again," Arthur said

"oh, believe me, there is no way I could be responsible for what's making your wife feel ill," Morgana told him.

"me either," Merlin said in mock defence.

"I'm not ill," Gwen told him.

"yes you are," Arthur said "would you stop being so stubborn about it"

Gwen sighed and Merlin gave her a, it's Arthur you know how slow he can be at somethings, look.

"I'm not sick," Gwen told him, Arthur opened his mouth to say something but Gwen cut him off.

"I'm pregnant"

All three of the people sitting on the beds' heads and faces were in sync when the king of Camelot fell down in a dead faint creating an audible thud on the floor.

Alright, this is is for this one, I hope everyone enjoyed it. Like I said up top I am leaving this open for future one-shots that are connected to the universe of a different path.

{Arthur} I can't believe you made me faint.

{Me} what there are lots of times men faint.

{Arthur} you could have at least had someone catch me.

{me}I know.

{Arthur} then why didn't you.

{me} (turns to the readers with wide grim and waves) bye guys. (runs off).
