If I could begin to be
half of what you think of me,
I could do about anything.
I could even learn how to love.

Raven was used to people not liking her. She was the weird creepy girl who kept to herself and read old, dusty books. She had the scary powers; manipulating dark energy, sensing emotions, and moving things around. Plus, she wasn't very pretty.
It also didn't help that her father was Trigon the terrible, ruler of all things evil.
So, she was used to not being liked. Growing up in Azarath, she had no real friends. None of the other children had been allowed to play with her, nor she them, and she'd been kept away to learn about controlling her powers. Social interaction wasn't her forte, and while she could feel what other people were feeling, she never got to truly experience emotions herself.
After all, feelings were dangerous, and as a result, so were friends.
It wasn't really until she became a Titan that she got to experience friendship, and it was all so utterly new to her. Raven secretly believed that they all just tolerated her for the team's benefit; after all she never participated in team activities unless she was forced and she knew her powers scared her teammates. Even as they grew closer, she always figured she was everyone's least favorite.
With a sigh, Raven slipped through her doorway. She always hated when the negative thoughts plagued her; it hurt to think these things. Hoping a mug of tea would clear her mind, she drifted off towards the Ops room, contentedly enjoying the quiet of the tower.
She approached the door, and feeling lazy, decided to phase through it. It was one of the very few aspects of her powers that she enjoyed, as it required very little effort.
"She's just so cool!"
Beast Boy's voice made Raven pause. Her emphatic walls were up, so she hadn't sensed him and Cyborg by the couch, and Raven wasn't too keen on conversing at the moment.
"Why don't you just tell her, 'B."
"How? She'll think I'm making fun of her!"
"Well tell 'er you mean it."
Beast Boy huffed. "This is Raven we're talking about, Cy. She won't believe me." He paused, sighing. "I just don't get how people could think she's anything but awesome."
Cyborg chuckled. "Man, you've got it bad."
The changeling shoved Cyborg, and Raven could feel the embarrassment rolling off of him. She stood there a moment, stunned, before vanishing into the floor, her tea forgotten. It was only in the safety in her room that Raven began to attempt to untangle the web of revelations she'd just stumbled upon.
Did Beast Boy…like her?
She almost immediately dismissed the thought, only a small, thin line of hope holding the idea in place. She sat on her bed, dazed, with only one thought on her mind; she wished she was worthy of such affections.
So. I started a new little collection. Oops. This is a songfic collection based around the song "Love Like You" that plays during the end credits of the show Steven Universe, if you've ever heard of that. These will all be short and hopefully a little sweet. Enjoy!
Thanks for the support!
