Hotch looked up at the sound of someone entering the room. Spencer stood there, looking at Hotch nervously. Hotch smiled, putting his book down. Spencer walked over to the bed, sitting on it and cuddling into Hotch's side. Hotch put his arm around him. Spencer had been staying at his place for a while, while he got better.

His mental state wasn't the best, and Hotch didn't want him alone. "Did you finish your show?" Hotch asked, and Spencer nodded.

"How are you feeling?" Hotch asked.

Spencer didn't reply. Both of them stayed silent for a bit, before Spencer spoke.

"I-I keep seeing them." He said quietly.

"What are you remembering?" Hotch asked.

They were trying a new thing of talking about the memories, something Spencer was unable to do for a while.

"He-He's hitting me." Spencer leaned into Hotch's chest, and Hotch started to rub his back. "You're safe, it's okay."

"Please don't be mad." Spencer said, tears forming in his eyes. Hotch knew that sometimes Spencer confused him with the unsub who hurt him, and it wasn't his fault, but Hotch sometimes found it difficult when that happened.

"I'm not mad. I won't let anyone hurt you, Spencer." Hotch spoke in a soothing tone, and it seemed to calm Spencer down.

He closed his eyes, and Hotch continued to rub his back. The unsub who had kidnapped him beat Spencer for a week. When they found him, he wouldn't let anyone go near him. He had bruises all over him, and had gotten many injuries in that week. The only person he let near him was Hotch, after a lot of talking. "Are you hungry? Wanna go get something to eat?" Hotch asked, looking at Spencer. Spencer nodded.

"Okay." He sat up, and got off the bed. Hotch slowly pulled him into a hug.

Spencer hugged him back tightly.

"I love you." Hotch said, and he felt Spencer smile.

"I love you, too." He said.
